1 Veio a mim a palavra do Senhor, dizendo: 2 Filho do homem, volve o rosto contra os filhos de Amom e profetiza contra eles. 3 Dize aos filhos de Amom: Ouvi a palavra do Senhor Deus: Assim diz o Senhor Deus: Visto que tu disseste: Bem feito!, acerca do meu santuário, quando foi profanado; acerca da terra de Israel, quando foi assolada; e da casa de Judá, quando foi para o exílio, 4 eis que te entregarei ao poder dos filhos do Oriente, e estabelecerão em ti os seus acampamentos e porão em ti as suas moradas; eles comerão os teus frutos e beberão o teu leite. 5 Farei de Rabá uma estrebaria de camelos e dos filhos de Amom, um curral de ovelhas; e sabereis que eu sou o Senhor.

6 Porque assim diz o Senhor Deus: Visto como bateste as palmas, e pateaste, e, com toda a malícia de tua alma, te alegraste da terra de Israel, 7 eis que estendi a mão contra ti e te darei por despojo às nações; eliminar-te-ei dentre os povos e te farei perecer dentre as terras. Acabarei de todo contigo, e saberás que eu sou o Senhor.

8 Assim diz o Senhor Deus: Visto como dizem Moabe e Seir: Eis que a casa de Judá é como todas as nações, 9 eis que eu abrirei o flanco de Moabe desde as cidades, desde as suas cidades fronteiras, a glória da terra, Bete-Jesimote, Baal-Meom e Quiriataim; 10 dá-las-ei aos povos do Oriente em possessão, como também os filhos de Amom, para que destes não haja memória entre as nações. 11 Também executarei juízos contra Moabe, e os moabitas saberão que eu sou o Senhor.

12 Assim diz o Senhor Deus: Visto que Edom se houve vingativamente para com a casa de Judá e se fez culpadíssimo, quando se vingou dela, 13 assim diz o Senhor Deus: Também estenderei a mão contra Edom e eliminarei dele homens e animais; torná-lo-ei deserto, e desde Temã até Dedã cairão à espada. 14 Exercerei a minha vingança contra Edom, por intermédio do meu povo de Israel; este fará em Edom segundo a minha ira e segundo o meu furor; e os edomitas conhecerão a minha vingança, diz o Senhor Deus.

15 Assim diz o Senhor Deus: Visto que os filisteus se houveram vingativamente e com desprezo de alma executaram vingança, para destruírem com perpétua inimizade, 16 assim diz o Senhor Deus: Eis que eu estendo a mão contra os filisteus, e eliminarei os queretitas, e farei perecer o resto da costa do mar. 17 Tomarei deles grandes vinganças, com furiosas repreensões; e saberão que eu sou o Senhor, quando eu tiver exercido a minha vingança contra eles.

1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:

2 'Son of man, set thy face toward the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them;

3 and say unto the children of Ammon: Hear the word of the Lord GOD: Thus saith the Lord GOD: Because thou saidst: Aha! against My sanctuary, when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel, when it was made desolate, and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity;

4 therefore, behold, I will deliver thee to the children of the east for a possession, and they shall set their encampments in thee, and make their dwellings in thee; they shall eat thy fruit, and they shall drink thy milk.

5 And I will make Rabbah a pasture for camels, and the children of Ammon a couching-place for flocks; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

6 For thus saith the Lord GOD: Because thou hast clapped thy hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced with all the disdain of thy soul against the land of Israel;

7 therefore, behold, I stretch out My hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the nations; and I will cut thee off from the peoples, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries; I will destroy thee, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.

8 Thus saith the Lord GOD: Because that Moab and Seir do say: Behold, the house of Judah is like unto all the nations,

9 therefore, behold, I will open the flank of Moab on the side of the cities, on the side of his cities which are on his frontiers, the beauteous country of Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim,

10 together with the children of Ammon, unto the children of the east, and I will give them for a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations;

11 and I will execute judgments upon Moab; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

12 Thus saith the Lord GOD: Because that Edom hath dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and hath greatly offended, and revenged himself upon them;

13 therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: I will stretch out My hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman, even unto Dedan shall they fall by the sword.

14 And I will lay My vengeance upon Edom by the hand of My people Israel; and they shall do in Edom according to Mine anger and according to My fury; and they shall know my vengeance, saith the Lord GOD.

15 Thus saith the Lord GOD: Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with disdain of soul to destroy, for the old hatred;

16 therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: Behold, I will stretch out My hand upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites, and destroy the remnant of the sea-coast.

17 And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay My vengeance upon them.'
