1 فاني اريد ان تعلموا اي جهاد لي لاجلكم ولاجل الذين في لاودكية وجميع الذين لم يروا وجهي في الجسد2 لكي تتعزى قلوبهم مقترنة في المحبة لكل غنى يقين الفهم لمعرفة سرّ الله الآب والمسيح3 المذّخر فيه جميع كنوز الحكمة والعلم.4 وانما اقول هذا لئلا يخدعكم احد بكلام ملق.5 فاني وان كنت غائبا في الجسد لكني معكم في الروح فرحا وناظرا ترتيبكم ومتانة ايمانكم في المسيح.6 فكما قبلتم المسيح يسوع الرب اسلكوا فيه7 متأصلين ومبنيين فيه وموطدين في الايمان كما علّمتم متفاضلين فيه بالشكر.8 انظروا ان لا يكون احد يسبيكم بالفلسفة وبغرور باطل حسب تقليد الناس حسب اركان العالم وليس حسب المسيح.9 فانه فيه يحل كل ملء اللاهوت جسديا.10 وانتم مملوؤون فيه الذي هو راس كل رياسة وسلطان.11 وبه ايضا ختنتم ختانا غير مصنوع بيد بخلع جسم خطايا البشرية بختان المسيح.12 مدفونين معه في المعمودية التي فيها اقمتم ايضا معه بايمان عمل الله الذي اقامه من الاموات.13 واذ كنتم امواتا في الخطايا وغلف جسدكم احياكم معه مسامحا لكم بجميع الخطايا.14 اذ محا الصك الذي علينا في الفرائض الذي كان ضدا لنا وقد رفعه من الوسط مسمرا اياه بالصليب.15 اذ جرد الرياسات والسلاطين اشهرهم جهارا ظافرا بهم فيه16 فلا يحكم عليكم احد في اكل او شرب او من جهة عيد او هلال او سبت17 التي هي ظل الامور العتيدة اما الجسد فللمسيح.18 لا يخسركم احد الجعالة راغبا في التواضع وعبادة الملائكة متداخلا في ما لم ينظره منتفخا باطلا من قبل ذهنه الجسدي19 وغير متمسك بالراس الذي منه كل الجسد بمفاصل وربط متوازرا ومقترنا ينمو نموا من الله20 اذا ان كنتم قد متم مع المسيح عن اركان العالم فلماذا كانكم عائشون في العالم تفرض عليكم فرائض21 لا تمسّ ولا تذق ولا تجس.22 التي هي جميعها للفناء في الاستعمال حسب وصايا وتعاليم الناس.23 التي لها حكاية حكمة بعبادة نافلة وتواضع وقهر الجسد ليس بقيمة ما من جهة اشباع البشرية

1 For I would that you knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.4 And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, rejoicing and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.6 As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk you in him:7 Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.9 For in him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.10 And you are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:11 In whom also you are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also you are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who has raised him from the dead.13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, has he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increases with the increase of God.20 Why if you be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are you subject to ordinances,21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?23 Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body: not in any honor to the satisfying of the flesh.
