1 في ذلك الزمان ارسل مرودخ بلادان بن بلادان ملك بابل رسائل وهدية الى حزقيا لانه سمع انه مرض ثم صحّ.2 ففرح بهم حزقيا واراهم بيت ذخائره الفضة والذهب والاطياب والزيت الطيب وكل بيت اسلحته وكل ما وجد في خزائنه. لم يكن شيء لم يرهم اياه حزقيا في بيته وفي كل ملكه3 فجاء اشعياء النبي الى الملك حزقيا وقال له. ماذا قال هؤلاء الرجال ومن اين جاءوا اليك. فقال حزقيا جاءوا اليّ من ارض بعيدة من بابل.4 فقال ماذا رأوا في بيتك. فقال حزقيا رأوا كل ما في بيتي. ليس في خزائني شيء لم أرهم اياه.5 فقال اشعياء لحزقيا اسمع قول رب الجنود.6 هوذا تأتي ايام يحمل فيها كل ما في بيتك وما خزنه آباؤك الى هذا اليوم الى بابل. لا يترك شيء يقول الرب.7 ومن بنيك الذين يخرجون منك الذين تلدهم ياخذون فيكونون خصيانا في قصر ملك بابل.8 فقال حزقيا لاشعياء جيد هو قول الرب الذي تكلمت به. وقال فانه يكون سلام وامان في ايامي

1 At that time Merodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah: for he had heard that he had been sick, and was recovered.2 And Hezekiah was glad of them, and showed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armor, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah showed them not.3 Then came Isaiah the prophet to king Hezekiah, and said to him, What said these men? and from where came they to you? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country to me, even from Babylon.4 Then said he, What have they seen in your house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in my house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not showed them.5 Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD of hosts:6 Behold, the days come, that all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, said the LORD.7 And of your sons that shall issue from you, which you shall beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.8 Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which you have spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and truth in my days.
