Salmos 147

Exortação a louvar ao Senhor pela sua beneficência

1 Louvai ao Senhor, porque é bom cantar louvores ao nosso Deus; isto é agradável; decoroso é o louvor. 2 O Senhor edifica Jerusalém; congrega os dispersos de Israel; 3 sara os quebrantados de coração e liga-lhes as feridas; 4 conta o número das estrelas, chamando-as a todas pelos seus nomes. 5 Grande é o nosso Senhor e de grande poder; o seu entendimento é infinito. 6 O Senhor eleva os humildes e abate os ímpios até à terra.

7 Cantai ao Senhor em ação de graças; cantai louvores ao nosso Deus sobre a harpa. 8 Ele é que cobre o céu de nuvens, que prepara a chuva para a terra e que faz produzir erva sobre os montes; 9 que dá aos animais o seu sustento e aos filhos dos corvos, quando clamam. 10 Não se deleita na força do cavalo, nem se compraz na agilidade do varão. 11 O Senhor agrada-se dos que o temem e dos que esperam na sua misericórdia.

12 Louva, ó Jerusalém, ao Senhor; louva, ó Sião, ao teu Deus. 13 Porque ele fortaleceu os ferrolhos das tuas portas; abençoa aos teus filhos dentro de ti. 14 Ele é quem pacifica os teus termos e da flor da farinha te farta; 15 quem envia o seu mandamento à terra; a sua palavra corre velozmente; 16 quem dá a neve como lã e esparge a geada como cinza; 17 quem lança o seu gelo em pedaços; quem pode resistir ao seu frio? 18 Manda a sua palavra e os faz derreter; faz soprar o vento, e correm as águas. 19 Mostra a sua palavra a Jacó, os seus estatutos e os seus juízos, a Israel. 20 Não fez assim a nenhuma outra nação; e, quanto aos seus juízos, nenhuma os conhece. Louvai ao Senhor!

1 Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

2 The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.*147.3 wounds: Heb. griefs

4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.*147.5 his…: Heb. of his understanding there is no number

6 The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

7 Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

8 Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

9 He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.

10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

11 The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

12 Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

13 For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.

14 He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.*147.14 He…: Heb. Who maketh thy border peace*147.14 finest…: Heb. fat of wheat

15 He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.

16 He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.

17 He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?

18 He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

19 He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.*147.19 his word: Heb. his words

20 He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.
