And he got up, and went into the country of Judaea on the other side of Jordan: and great numbers of people came together to him again; and, as was his way, he gave them teaching. 
And Pharisees came to him, testing him with the question, Is it right for a man to put away his wife? 
And he said to them in answer, What did Moses say you were to do? 
And they said to him, Moses let us give her a statement in writing, and be free from her. 
But Jesus said to them, Because of your hard hearts he gave you this law. 
But from the first, male and female made he them. 
For this cause will a man go away from his father and mother, and be joined to his wife; 
And the two will become one flesh; so that they are no longer two, but one flesh. 
Let not that which has been joined together by God be parted by man. 
And in the house the disciples put questions to him again about this thing. 
And he said to them, Whoever puts away his wife and takes another, is false to his wife; 
And if she herself puts away her husband and takes another, she is false to her husband. 
And they took to him little children, so that he might put his hands on them: and the disciples said sharp words to them. 
And when Jesus saw it, he was angry, and said to them, Let the little children come to me, and do not keep them away; for of such is the kingdom of God. 
Truly I say to you, Whoever does not put himself under the kingdom of God like a little child, will not come into it at all. 
And he took them in his arms, and gave them a blessing, putting his hands on them. 
And while he was going out into the way, a man came running to him, and went down on his knees, saying, Good Master, what have I to do so that I may have eternal life? 
And Jesus said to him, Why do you say I am good? no one is good but one, and that is God. 
You have knowledge of what is said in the law, Do not put any one to death, Do not be untrue in married life, Do not take what is not yours, Do not give false witness, Do not get money by deceit, Give honour to your father and mother. 
And he said to him, Master, all these laws I have kept from the time when I was young. 
And Jesus, looking on him and loving him, said, There is one thing needed: go, get money for your goods, and give it to the poor, and you will have wealth in heaven: and come with me. 
But his face became sad at the saying, and he went away sorrowing: for he was one who had much property. 
And Jesus, looking round about, said to his disciples, How hard it is for those who have wealth to come into the kingdom of God! 
And the disciples were full of wonder at his words. But Jesus said to them again, Children, how hard it is for those who put faith in wealth to come into the kingdom of God! 
It is simpler for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a man of wealth to come into the kingdom of God. 
And they were greatly surprised, saying to him, Who then may have salvation? 
Jesus, looking on them, said, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for all things are possible with God. 
Peter said to him, See, we have given up everything, and come after you. 
Jesus said, Truly I say to you, There is no man who has given up house, or brothers, or sisters, or mother, or father, or children, or land, because of me and the good news, 
Who will not get a hundred times as much now in this time, houses, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and land--though with great troubles; and, in the world to come, eternal life. 
But a great number who are first will be last: and those who are last will be first. 
And they were on the way, going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus was going before them: and they were full of wonder; but those who came after him were in fear. And again he took the twelve, and gave them word of the things which were to come on him, 
Saying, See, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man will be given up to the chief priests and the scribes; and they will give an order for his death, and will give him up to the Gentiles: 
And they will make sport of him, and put shame on him, and give him cruel blows, and will put him to death; and after three days he will come back from the dead. 
And there came to him James and John, the sons of Zebedee, saying to him, Master, will you give us whatever may be our request? 
And he said to them, What would you have me do for you? 
And they said to him, Let us be seated, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your glory. 
But Jesus said to them, You have no knowledge of what you are saying. Are you able to take of my cup? or to undergo the baptism which I am to undergo? 
And they said to him, We are able. And Jesus said to them, You will take of the cup from which I take; and the baptism which I am about to undergo you will undergo: 
But to be seated at my right hand or at my left is not for me to give: but it is for those for whom it has been made ready. 
And hearing this, the ten became very angry with James and John. 
And Jesus made them come to him, and said to them, You see that those who are made rulers over the Gentiles are lords over them, and their great ones have authority over them. 
But it is not so among you: but whoever has a desire to become great among you, let him be your servant: 
And whoever has a desire to be first among you, let him be servant of all. 
For truly the Son of man did not come to have servants, but to be a servant, and to give his life for the salvation of men. 
And they came to Jericho: and when he was going out of Jericho, with his disciples and a great number of people, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind man, was seated by the wayside, with his hand out for money. 
And when it came to his ears that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he gave a cry, and said, Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me. 
And some of them, turning in protest, gave him an order to be quiet: but he went on crying out all the more, Son of David, have mercy on me. 
And Jesus came to a stop and said, Let him come. And crying out to the blind man, they said to him, Be comforted: come, he has sent for you. 
And he, putting off his coat, got up quickly, and came to Jesus. 
And Jesus said to him, What would you have me do to you? And the blind man said, Master, make me able to see. 
And Jesus said to him, Go on your way; your faith has made you well. And straight away he was able to see, and went after him in the way. 

Und er stand auf von dannen und kommt in das Gebiet von Judäa und von jenseit des Jordan. Und wiederum kommen Volksmengen zu ihm zusammen, und wie er gewohnt war, lehrte er sie wiederum. 
Und es traten Pharisäer herzu und fragten ihn: Ist es einem Manne erlaubt, sein Weib zu entlassen? indem sie ihn versuchten. 
Er aber antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Was hat euch Moses geboten? 
Sie aber sagten: Moses hat gestattet, einen Scheidebrief zu schreiben und zu entlassen. 
Und Jesus antwortete und sprach zu ihnen: Wegen eurer {Eig. in Hinsicht auf eure} Herzenshärtigkeit hat er euch dieses Gebot geschrieben; 
von Anfang der Schöpfung aber schuf {W. machte} Gott sie Mann und Weib. {Eig. männlich und weiblich} 
"Um deswillen wird ein Mensch seinen Vater und seine Mutter verlassen und seinem Weibe anhangen, 
und es werden die zwei ein Fleisch sein"; {1. Mose 2,24} also sind sie nicht mehr zwei, sondern ein Fleisch. 
Was nun Gott zusammengefügt hat, soll der Mensch nicht scheiden. 
Und in dem Hause befragten ihn die Jünger wiederum hierüber; 
und er spricht zu ihnen: Wer irgend sein Weib entlassen und eine andere heiraten wird, begeht Ehebruch gegen sie. 
Und wenn ein Weib ihren Mann entlassen und einen anderen heiraten wird, so begeht sie Ehebruch. 
Und sie brachten Kindlein zu ihm, auf daß er sie anrühre. Die Jünger aber verwiesen es denen, welche sie herzubrachten. 
Als aber Jesus es sah, wurde er unwillig und sprach zu ihnen: Lasset die Kindlein zu mir kommen [und] wehret ihnen nicht, denn solcher ist das Reich Gottes. 
Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wer irgend das Reich Gottes nicht aufnehmen wird wie ein Kindlein, wird nicht in dasselbe eingehen. 
Und er nahm sie in seine Arme, legte die Hände auf sie und segnete sie. 
Und als er auf den Weg hinausging, lief einer herzu , fiel vor ihm auf die Knie und fragte ihn: Guter Lehrer, was soll ich tun, auf daß ich ewiges Leben ererbe? 
Jesus aber sprach zu ihm: Was heißest du mich gut? Niemand ist gut als nur Einer, Gott. 
Die Gebote weißt du: "Du sollst nicht ehebrechen; du sollst nicht töten; du sollst nicht stehlen; du sollst nicht falsches Zeugnis reden; du sollst nichts vorenthalten; ehre deinen Vater und deine Mutter. " 
Er aber antwortete und sprach zu ihm: Lehrer, dieses alles habe ich beobachtet von meiner Jugend an. 
Jesus aber blickte ihn an, liebte ihn und sprach zu ihm: Eines fehlt dir; gehe hin, verkaufe, was irgend du hast, und gib es den Armen, und du wirst einen Schatz im Himmel haben, und komm, folge mir nach, [das Kreuz aufnehmend]. 
Er aber ging, betrübt über das Wort, traurig hinweg, denn er hatte viele Güter. 
Und Jesus blickte umher und spricht zu seinen Jüngern: Wie schwerlich werden die, welche Güter {O. Vermögen, Geld} haben, in das Reich Gottes eingehen! 
Die Jünger aber entsetzten sich über seine Worte. Jesus aber antwortete wiederum und spricht zu ihnen: Kinder, wie schwer ist es, daß die, welche auf Güter {O. Vermögen, Geld} vertrauen, in das Reich Gottes eingehen! 
Es ist leichter, daß ein Kamel durch das Öhr der Nadel gehe, als daß ein Reicher in das Reich Gottes eingehe. 
Sie aber waren über die Maßen erstaunt und sprachen zueinander ,: Und wer kann dann errettet werden? 
Jesus aber sah sie an und spricht: Bei Menschen ist es unmöglich, aber nicht bei Gott; denn bei Gott sind alle Dinge möglich. 
Petrus fing an, zu ihm zu sagen: Siehe, wir haben alles verlassen und sind dir nachgefolgt. 
Jesus antwortete und sprach: Wahrlich, ich sage euch: Da ist niemand, der Haus oder Brüder oder Schwestern oder Vater oder Mutter [oder Weib] oder Kinder oder Äcker verlassen hat um meinet- und um des Evangeliums willen, 
der nicht hundertfältig empfange, jetzt in dieser Zeit Häuser und Brüder und Schwestern und Mütter und Kinder und Äcker, mit Verfolgungen, und in dem kommenden Zeitalter ewiges Leben. 
Aber viele Erste werden Letzte, und Letzte Erste sein. 
Sie waren aber auf dem Wege hinaufgehend nach Jerusalem, und Jesus ging vor ihnen her; und sie entsetzten sich und, indem sie nachfolgten, fürchteten sie sich. Und er nahm wiederum die Zwölfe zu sich und fing an, ihnen zu sagen, was ihm widerfahren sollte: 
Siehe, wir gehen hinauf nach Jerusalem, und der Sohn des Menschen wird den Hohenpriestern und den Schriftgelehrten überliefert werden; und sie werden ihn zum Tode verurteilen und werden ihn den Nationen überliefern; 
und sie werden ihn verspotten und ihn geißeln und ihn anspeien und ihn töten; und nach drei Tagen wird er auferstehen. 
Und es treten zu ihm Jakobus und Johannes, die Söhne des Zebedäus, und sagen zu ihm: Lehrer, wir wollen, daß du uns tuest, um was irgend wir dich bitten werden. 
Er aber sprach zu ihnen: Was wollt ihr, daß ich euch tun soll? 
Sie aber sprachen zu ihm: Gib uns, daß wir einer zu deiner Rechten und einer zu deiner Linken sitzen mögen in deiner Herrlichkeit. 
Jesus aber sprach zu ihnen: Ihr wisset nicht, um was ihr bittet. Könnt ihr den Kelch trinken, den ich trinke, oder mit der Taufe getauft werden, mit der ich getauft werde? 
Sie aber sprachen zu ihm: Wir können es. Jesus aber sprach zu ihnen: Den Kelch, den ich trinke, werdet ihr trinken, und mit der Taufe, mit der ich getauft werde, werdet ihr getauft werden; 
aber das Sitzen zu meiner Rechten oder Linken steht nicht bei mir zu vergeben, sondern ist für die, welchen es bereitet ist. 
Und als die Zehn es hörten, fingen sie an, unwillig zu werden über Jakobus und Johannes. 
Und als Jesus sie herzugerufen hatte, spricht er zu ihnen: Ihr wisset, daß die, welche als Regenten der Nationen gelten, über dieselben herrschen, und ihre Großen Gewalt über sie üben. 
Aber also ist es nicht unter euch; sondern wer irgend unter euch groß werden will, soll {O. wird} euer Diener sein; 
und wer irgend von euch der Erste sein will, soll {O. wird} aller Knecht sein. 
Denn auch der Sohn des Menschen ist nicht gekommen, um bedient zu werden, sondern um zu dienen und sein Leben zu geben als Lösegeld für viele. 
Und sie kommen nach Jericho. Und als er aus Jericho ging mit seinen Jüngern und einer zahlreichen Volksmenge, saß der Sohn des Timäus, Bartimäus, der Blinde, bettelnd am Wege. 
Und als er hörte, daß es Jesus, der Nazarener sei, fing er an zu schreien und zu sagen: O Sohn Davids, Jesu, erbarme dich meiner! 
Und viele bedrohten ihn, daß er schweigen solle; er aber schrie um so mehr: Sohn Davids, erbarme dich meiner! 
Und Jesus blieb stehen und hieß ihn rufen. Und sie rufen den Blinden und sagen zu ihm: Sei gutes Mutes; stehe auf, er ruft dich! 
Er aber warf sein Gewand ab, sprang auf und kam zu Jesu. 
Und Jesus hob an und spricht zu ihm: Was willst du, daß ich dir tun soll? Der Blinde aber sprach zu ihm: Rabbuni, daß ich sehend werde. 
Jesus aber sprach zu ihm: Gehe hin, dein Glaube hat dich geheilt. {O. gerettet} Und alsbald wurde er sehend und folgte ihm nach auf dem Wege.
