37 Isus i -a răspuns: ,,Să iubeşti pe Domnul, Dumnezeul tău, cu toată inima ta, cu tot sufletul tău, şi cu tot cugetul tău.

38 ,,Aceasta este cea dintîi, şi cea mai mare poruncă.

39 Iar a doua, asemenea ei, este: ,Să iubeşti pe aproapele tău ca pe tine însuţi.

40 În aceste două porunci se cuprinde toată Legea şi Proorocii.

37 And Jesus said to him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thine understanding --

38 this is a first and great command;

39 and the second [is] like to it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself;

40 on these -- the two commands -- all the law and the prophets do hang.
