1 And I saw, and behold, the Lamb standing upon mount Zion, and with him a hundred {and} forty-four thousand, having his name and the name of his Father written upon their foreheads.

2 And I heard a voice out of the heaven as a voice of many waters, and as a voice of great thunder. And the voice which I heard {was} as of harp-singers harping with their harps;

3 and they sing a new song before the throne, and before the four living creatures and the elders. And no one could learn that song save the hundred {and} forty-four thousand who were bought from the earth.

4 These are they who have not been defiled with women, for they are virgins: these are they who follow the Lamb wheresoever it goes. These have been bought from men {as} first-fruits to God and to the Lamb:

5 and in their mouths was no lie found; {for} they are blameless.

6 And I saw another angel flying in mid-heaven, having {the} everlasting glad tidings to announce to those settled on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people,

7 saying with a loud voice, Fear God and give him glory, for the hour of his judgment has come; and do homage to him who has made the heaven and the earth and the sea and fountains of waters.

8 And another, a second, angel followed, saying, Great Babylon has fallen, has fallen, which of the wine of the fury of her fornication has made all nations drink.

9 And another, a third, angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any one do homage to the beast and its image, and receive a mark upon his forehead or upon his hand,

10 he also shall drink of the wine of the fury of God prepared unmixed in the cup of his wrath, and he shall be tormented in fire and brimstone before the holy angels and before the Lamb.

11 And the smoke of their torment goes up to ages of ages, and they have no respite day and night who do homage to the beast and to its image, and if any one receive the mark of its name.

12 Here is the endurance of the saints, who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

13 And I heard a voice out of the heaven saying, Write, Blessed the dead who die in {the} Lord from henceforth. Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; for their works follow with them.

14 And I saw, and behold, a white cloud, and on the cloud one sitting like {the} Son of man, having upon his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.

15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Send thy sickle and reap; for the hour of reaping is come, for the harvest of the earth is dried.

16 And he that sat on the cloud put his sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.

17 And another angel came out of the temple which {is} in the heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.

18 And another angel came out of the altar, having power over fire, and called with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Send thy sharp sickle, and gather the bunches of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripened.

19 And the angel put his sickle to the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast {the bunches} into the great wine-press of the fury of God;

20 and the wine-press was trodden without the city, and blood went out of the wine-press to the bits of the horses for a thousand six hundred stadia.

1 Puis je regardai, et voici, l'Agneau se tenait sur la montagne de Sion, et il y avait avec lui cent quarante-quatre mille [personnes], qui avaient le Nom de son Père écrit sur leurs fronts.

2 Et j'entendis une voix du ciel comme le bruit des grandes eaux, et comme le bruit d'un grand tonnerre; et j'entendis une voix de joueurs de harpe, qui jouaient de leurs harpes,

3 Et qui chantaient comme un cantique nouveau devant le trône, et devant les quatre animaux, et devant les Anciens; et personne ne pouvait apprendre le cantique, que les cent quarante-quatre mille qui ont été achetés d'entre ceux de la terre.

4 Ce sont ceux qui ne se sont point souillés avec les femmes, car ils sont vierges; ce sont ceux qui suivent l'Agneau quelque part qu'il aille; et ce sont ceux qui ont été achetés d'entre les hommes pour être des prémices à Dieu, et à l'Agneau.

5 Et il n'a été trouvé aucune fraude en leur bouche; car ils sont sans tache devant le trône de Dieu.

6 Puis je vis un autre Ange qui volait par le milieu du ciel, ayant l'Evangile éternel, afin d'évangéliser à ceux qui habitent sur la terre, et à toute nation, Tribu, Langue et peuple;

7 Disant à haute voix : Craignez Dieu, et lui donnez gloire; car l'heure de son jugement est venue; et adorez celui qui a fait le ciel et la terre, la mer et les fontaines des eaux.

8 Et un autre Ange le suivit, disant : Elle est tombée, elle est tombée Babylone, cette grande Cité, parce qu'elle a abreuvé toutes les nations du vin de la fureur de son impudicité.

9 Et un troisième Ange suivit ceux-là, disant à haute voix : Si quelqu'un adore la bête et son image, et qu'il en prenne la marque sur son front, ou en sa main,

10 Celui-là aussi boira du vin de la colère de Dieu, du vin pur versé dans la coupe de sa colère, et il sera tourmenté de feu et de soufre devant les saints Anges, et devant l'Agneau.

11 Et la fumée de leur tourment montera aux siècles des siècles, et ceux-là n'auront nul repos ni jour ni nuit qui adorent la bête et son image, et quiconque prend la marque de son nom.

12 Ici est la patience des Saints; ici [sont] ceux qui gardent les commandements de Dieu, et la foi de Jésus.

13 Alors j'entendis une voix du ciel me disant : écris : Bienheureux sont les morts qui dorénavant meurent au Seigneur; oui pour certain, dit l'Esprit; car ils se reposent de leurs travaux, et leurs œuvres les suivent.

14 Et je regardai, et voici une nuée blanche, et sur la nuée quelqu'un assis, semblable à un homme, ayant sur sa tête une couronne d'or, et en sa main une faucille tranchante.

15 Et un autre Ange sortit du Temple, criant à haute voix à celui qui était assis sur la nuée : jette ta faucille, et moissonne; car c'est ton heure de moissonner, parce que la moisson de la terre est mûre.

16 Alors celui qui était assis sur la nuée, jeta sa faucille sur la terre, et la terre fut moissonnée.

17 Et un autre Ange sortit du Temple qui est au Ciel, ayant aussi une faucille tranchante.

18 Et un autre Ange sortit de l'autel, ayant puissance sur le feu; et il cria, jetant un grand cri à celui qui avait la faucille tranchante, disant : jette ta faucille tranchante, et vendange les grappes de la vigne de la terre, car ses raisins sont mûrs.

19 Et l'Ange jeta en la terre sa faucille tranchante : et vendangea la vigne de la terre, et il jeta [la vendange] en la grande cuve de la colère de Dieu.

20 Et la cuve fut foulée hors de la Cité; et de la cuve il sortit du sang [qui allait] jusqu'aux freins des chevaux dans [l'étendue] de mille six cents stades.
