1 After these things I saw, and behold, a door opened in heaven, and the first voice which I heard as of a trumpet speaking with me, saying, Come up here, and I will shew thee the things which must take place after these things. 2 Immediately I became in the Spirit; and behold, a throne stood in the heaven, and upon the throne one sitting, 3 and he that was sitting like in appearance to a stone of jasper and a sardius, and a rainbow round the throne like in appearance to an emerald. 4 And round the throne twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones twenty-four elders sitting, clothed with white garments; and on their heads golden crowns. 5 And out of the throne go forth lightnings, and voices, and thunders; and seven lamps of fire, burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God; 6 and before the throne, as a glass sea, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, four living creatures, full of eyes, before and behind; 7 and the first living creature like a lion, and the second living creature like a calf, and the third living creature having the face as of a man, and the fourth living creature like a flying eagle.
8 And the four living creatures, each one of them having respectively six wings; round and within they are full of eyes; and they cease not day and night saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, who was, and who is, and who is to come. 9 And when the living creatures shall give glory and honour and thanksgiving to him that sits upon the throne, who lives to the ages of ages, 10 the twenty-four elders shall fall before him that sits upon the throne, and do homage to him that lives to the ages of ages; and shall cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 Thou art worthy, O our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honour and power; for thou hast created all things, and for thy will they were, and they have been created.
1 DESPUÉS de estas cosas miré, y he aquí una puerta abierta en el cielo: y 4.1 cp. 1.10.la primera voz que oí, era como de trompeta que hablaba conmigo, diciendo: Sube acá, 4.1 cp. 1.1,19.y yo te mostraré las cosas que han de ser después de éstas.
2 Y luego 4.2 cp. 1.10.yo fuí en Espíritu: y he aquí, 4.2 Sal. 11.4.un trono que estaba puesto en el cielo, y sobre el trono estaba uno sentado.
3 Y el que estaba sentado, era al parecer semejante á una piedra 4.3 Ex. 28.20. Ez. 28.13.de jaspe y 4.3 Ex. 28.17.de sardio: 4.3 Ez. 1.28. cp. 10.1y un arco celeste había alrededor del trono, semejante en el aspecto á la esmeralda.
4 Y alrededor del trono 4.4 cp. 11.16.había veinticuatro sillas: y vi sobre las sillas 4.4 cp. 5.6,8,14 y 7.11 y 19.4.veinticuatro ancianos sentados, 4.4 cp. 3.4.vestidos de ropas blancas; y tenían sobre sus cabezas coronas de oro.
5 Y del trono salían 4.5 cp. 8.5 y 11.19 y 16.18.relámpagos y truenos y voces: 4.5 Ez. 1.13.y siete lámparas de fuego estaban ardiendo delante del trono, las cuales son 4.5 cp. 1.4.los siete Espíritus de Dios.
6 Y delante del trono había como un 4.6 cp. 15.2.mar de vidrio semejante al cristal; 4.6 Ez. 1.5.y en medio del trono, y alrededor del trono, cuatro animales llenos de ojos delante y detrás.
7 Y 4.7 Ez. 1.10 y 10.14.el primer animal era semejante á un león; y el segundo animal, semejante á un becerro; y el tercer animal tenía la cara como de hombre; y el cuarto animal, semejante á un águila volando.
8 Y los cuatro animales tenían cada uno por sí 4.8 Is. 6.2.seis alas alrededor, y de dentro estaban llenos de ojos; y no tenían reposo día ni noche, diciendo: 4.8 Is. 6.3.Santo, santo, santo el Señor Dios Todopoderoso, 4.8 cp. 1.4.que era, y que es, y que ha de venir.
9 Y cuando aquellos animales daban gloria y honra y alabanza al que estaba sentado en el trono, al que vive para siempre jamás,
10 Los veinticuatro ancianos se postraban delante del que estaba sentado en el trono, y adoraban al que vive para siempre jamás, y echaban sus coronas delante del trono, diciendo:
11 Señor, 4.11 cp. 5.9,12.digno eres de recibir gloria y honra y virtud: porque 4.11 cp. 10.6 y 14.7.tú criaste todas las cosas, y por tu voluntad tienen ser y fueron criadas.
