Juízes 17

1 And there was a man of mount Ephraim, whose name was Micah. 2 And he said to his mother, The eleven hundred silver-pieces that were taken from thee, and about which thou didst curse and speak of in mine ears, behold, the silver is with me; I took it. And his mother said, Blessed be my son of Jehovah! 3 And he restored the eleven hundred silver-pieces to his mother; and his mother said, I had dedicated the silver to Jehovah from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image; and now I will restore it to thee. 4 Now he restored the silver to his mother; and his mother took two hundred silver-pieces and gave them to the founder, and he made of them a graven image and a molten image; and they were in the house of Micah. 5 And the man Micah had a house of gods, and made an ephod and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest. 6 In those days there was no king in Israel; every man did what was right in his own eyes.

7 And there was a young man out of Bethlehem-Judah of the family of Judah, who was a Levite, and he sojourned there. 8 And the man departed from the city, from Bethlehem-Judah, to sojourn where he might find a place. And as he journeyed, he came to mount Ephraim, to the house of Micah. 9 And Micah said to him, Whence comest thou? And he said to him, I am a Levite of Bethlehem-Judah, and I go to sojourn where I may find a place. 10 And Micah said to him, Dwell with me, and be to me a father and a priest, and I will give thee yearly ten silver-pieces, and a suit of garments, and thy victuals. And the Levite went in. 11 And the Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was to him as one of his sons. 12 And Micah consecrated the Levite; and the young man became his priest, and was in the house of Micah. 13 Then said Micah, Now I know that Jehovah will do me good, because I have the Levite for priest.

2 El cual dijo á su madre: Los mil y cien siclos de plata que te fueron hurtados, por lo que tú maldecías oyéndolo yo, he aquí que yo tengo este dinero: yo lo había tomado. Entonces la madre dijo: ✝17.2 1 S. 15.13.Bendito seas de Jehová, hijo mío.

3 Y luego que él hubo vuelto á su madre los mil y cien siclos de plata, su madre dijo: Yo he dedicado este dinero á Jehová de mi mano para ti, hijo mío, ✝17.3 Ex. 20.4,23. Lv. 19.4.para que hagas una imagen de talla y de fundición: ahora pues, yo te lo devuelvo.

4 Mas volviendo él á su madre los dineros, ✝17.4 Is. 40.19 y 46.6.tomó su madre doscientos siclos de plata, y diólos al fundidor: y él le hizo de ellos una imagen de talla y de fundición, la cual fué puesta en casa de Michâs.

5 Y tuvo este hombre Michâs casa de dioses, é hízose hacer ✝17.5 cp. 8.27 y 18.14,17, etc.ephod y ✝17.5 Gn. 31.19,30.teraphim, y consagró uno de sus hijos; y fuéle por sacerdote.

6 ✝ 17.6 cp. 18.1 y 19.1 y 21.25. En estos días no había rey en Israel: ✝17.6 Dt. 12.8. cp. 21.25cada uno hacía como mejor le parecía.

7 Y había un joven de ✝17.7 Jos. 19.15. cp. 19.1Beth-lehem de Judá, de la tribu de Judá, el cual era Levita; y peregrinaba allí.

8 Este hombre se había partido de la ciudad de Beth-lehem de Judá, para ir á vivir donde hallase; y llegando al monte de Ephraim, vino á casa de Michâs, para de allí hacer su camino.

9 Y Michâs le dijo: ¿De dónde vienes? Y el Levita le respondió: Soy de Beth-lehem de Judá, y voy á vivir donde hallare.

10 Entonces Michâs le dijo: ✝17.10 cp. 18.19.Quédate en mi casa, y me serás en lugar de ✝17.10 Gn. 45.8. cp. 18.19. 2 R. 5.13.padre y sacerdote; y yo te daré diez siclos de plata por año, y el ordinario de vestidos, y tu comida. Y el Levita se quedó.

11 Acordó pues el Levita en morar con aquel hombre, y él lo tenía como á uno de sus hijos.

12 Y Michâs ✝17.12 ver. 5consagró al Levita, y aquel joven ✝17.12 cp. 18.30.le servía de sacerdote, y estaba en casa de Michâs.

13 Y Michâs dijo: Ahora sé que Jehová me hará bien, pues que el Levita es hecho mi sacerdote.
