Romanos 3

1 What then is the superiority of the Jew? or what the profit of circumcision? 2 Much every way: and first, indeed, that to them were entrusted the oracles of God. 3 For what? if some have not believed, shall their unbelief make the faith of God of none effect? 4 Far be the thought: but let God be true, and every man false; according as it is written, So that thou shouldest be justified in thy words, and shouldest overcome when thou art in judgment. 5 But if our unrighteousness commend God’s righteousness, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who inflicts wrath? I speak according to man. 6 Far be the thought: since how shall God judge the world? 7 For if the truth of God, in my lie, has more abounded to his glory, why yet am I also judged as a sinner? 8 and not, according as we are injuriously charged, and according as some affirm that we say, Let us practise evil things, that good ones may come? whose judgment is just. 9 What then? are we better? No, in no wise: for we have before charged both Jews and Greeks with being all under sin: 10 according as it is written, There is not a righteous man, not even one; 11 there is not the man that understands, there is not one that seeks after God. 12 All have gone out of the way, they have together become unprofitable; there is not one that practises goodness, there is not so much as one: 13 their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; asps' poison is under their lips: 14 whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness; 15 swift their feet to shed blood; 16 ruin and misery are in their ways, 17 and way of peace they have not known: 18 there is no fear of God before their eyes.

19 Now we know that whatever the things the law says, it speaks to those under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world be under judgment to God. 20 Wherefore by works of law no flesh shall be justified before him; for by law is knowledge of sin. 21 But now without law righteousness of God is manifested, borne witness to by the law and the prophets; 22 righteousness of God by faith of Jesus Christ towards all, and upon all those who believe: for there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 being justified freely by his grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; 25 whom God has set forth a mercy-seat, through faith in his blood, for the shewing forth of his righteousness, in respect of the passing by the sins that had taken place before, through the forbearance of God; 26 for the shewing forth of his righteousness in the present time, so that he should be just, and justify him that is of the faith of Jesus. 27 Where then is boasting? It has been excluded. By what law? of works? Nay, but by law of faith; 28 for we reckon that a man is justified by faith, without works of law. 29 Is God the God of Jews only? is he not of the nations also? Yea, of nations also: 30 since indeed it is one God who shall justify the circumcision on the principle of faith, and uncircumcision by faith. 31 Do we then make void law by faith? Far be the thought: no, but we establish law.

2 Mucho en todas maneras. Lo primero ciertamente, que ✝3.2 He. 5.12.la palabra de Dios les ha sido ✝3.2 cp. 2.18 y 9.4.confiada.

3 ¿Pues qué ✝3.3 cp. 10.16.si algunos de ellos han sido incrédulos? ¿la incredulidad de ellos habrá hecho vana la ✝3.3 2 Ti. 2.13.verdad de Dios?

1 "No hay justo ni aun uno."

2 Justificación por la fe.

4 En ninguna manera; antes bien sea ✝3.4 Jn. 3.33 y 8.26.Dios verdadero, mas ✝3.4 Sal. 116.11.todo hombre mentiroso; como está escrito:

✝ 3.4 Sal. 51.4. Para que seas justificado en tus dichos,

Y venzas cuando de ti se juzgare.

5 Y si nuestra iniquidad ✝3.5 cp. 5.8.encarece la justicia de Dios, ¿qué diremos? ¿Será injusto Dios que da castigo? ✝3.5 Ga. 3.15.(hablo como hombre.)

6 En ninguna manera: de otra suerte ¿cómo juzgaría Dios el mundo?

7 Empero si ✝3.7 ver. 4la verdad de Dios por mi mentira creció á gloria suya, ¿por qué aun así yo soy juzgado como pecador?

8 ¿Y por qué no decir (como somos blasfemados, y como algunos dicen que nosotros decimos): ✝3.8 cp. 6.1,15.Hagamos males para que vengan bienes? la condenación de los cuales es justa.

9 ¿Qué pues? ¿Somos mejores que ellos? En ninguna manera: porque ya hemos acusado á Judíos y á Gentiles, ✝3.9 vers. 19,23que todos están debajo de pecado.

10 Como está escrito:

✝ 3.10 Sal. 14.1-3 y 53.1-3. No hay justo, ni aun uno;

11 No hay quien entienda,

No hay quien busque á Dios;

12 Todos se apartaron, á una fueron hechos inútiles;

No hay quien haga lo bueno, no hay ni aun uno:

13 Sepulcro abierto ✝3.13 Sal. 5.9.es su garganta;

Con sus lenguas tratan engañosamente;

✝ 3.13 Sal. 140.3. Veneno de áspides está debajo de sus labios;

14 Cuya boca ✝3.14 Sal. 10.7.está llena de maledicencia y de amargura;

15 Sus pies ✝3.15 Is. 59.7,8.son ligeros á derramar sangre;

16 Quebrantamiento y desventura hay en sus caminos;

17 Y camino de paz no conocieron:

18 No hay temor de Dios ✝3.18 Sal. 36.1.delante de sus ojos.

19 Empero sabemos que todo lo que la ley dice, á los que están en la ley lo dice, ✝3.19 cp. 1.20 y 2.1.para que toda boca se tape, y que ✝3.19 ver. 9todo el mundo se sujete á Dios:

20 Porque por las obras ✝3.20 Sal. 143.2. Ga. 2.16 y 3.11.de la ley ninguna carne se justificará delante de él; porque ✝3.20 cp. 7.7.por la ley es el conocimiento del pecado.

21 Mas ahora, ✝3.21 cp. 1.17.sin la ley, la justicia de Dios se ha manifestado, testificada por la ley y por los profetas:

22 La justicia de Dios ✝3.22 cp. 4.3,5.por la fe de Jesucristo, para todos los que creen en él: porque ✝3.22 cp. 10.12. Col. 3.11.no hay diferencia;

23 Por cuanto todos pecaron, y están destituídos de la gloria de Dios;

24 Siendo justificados gratuitamente ✝3.24 cp. 4.16. Ef. 2.5,8. Tit. 3.5,7.por su gracia ✝3.24 Ef. 1.7. Col. 1.14. He. 9.12.por la redención que es en Cristo Jesús;

25 Al cual Dios ha propuesto ✝3.25 Lv. 16.15. 1 Jn. 2.2 y 4.10.en propiciación por la fe en ✝3.25 Ef. 2.13. Col. 1.20.su sangre, para manifestación de su justicia, atento á haber pasado por alto, en su paciencia, ✝3.25 He. 9.15.los pecados pasados,

26 Con la mira de manifestar su justicia en este tiempo: para que él sea el justo, y el que justifica al que es de la fe de Jesús.

27 ¿Dondé pues ✝3.27 cp. 2.17.está la jactancia? Es excluída. ¿Por cuál ley? ¿de las obras? No; mas por la ley de la fe.

28 Así que, concluímos ser el hombre justificado por fe ✝3.28 ver. 21. cp. 4.6 y 7.8,9.sin las obras de la ley.

29 ¿Es Dios solamente Dios de los Judíos? ¿No es también Dios de los Gentiles? Cierto, también de los Gentiles.

30 Porque ✝3.30 cp. 10.12. Ga. 3.8.uno es Dios, el cual justificará por la fe la circuncisión, y por medio de la fe la incircuncisión.

31 ¿Luego deshacemos la ley por la fe? En ninguna manera; antes ✝3.31 Mt. 5.17.establecemos la ley.
