1 Ask of Jehovah rain in the time of the latter rain; Jehovah will make lightnings, and he will give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field. 2 For the teraphim have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams: they comfort in vain. Therefore they have gone away as a flock, they are in distress, because there is no shepherd. 3 Mine anger is kindled against the shepherds, and I will punish the he-goats; for Jehovah of hosts visiteth his flock, the house of Judah, and maketh them as his majestic horse in the battle. 4 From him shall come forth the corner-stone, from him the nail, from him the battle bow, from him every exactor together.

5 And they shall be as mighty men, treading down the mire of the streets in the battle; and they shall fight, for Jehovah is with them, and the riders on horses shall be put to shame. 6 And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them back again; for I will have mercy upon them; and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am Jehovah their God*GodHebrew: Elohim and I will answer them. 7 And they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their hearts shall rejoice as through wine; and their children shall see it, and rejoice; their heart shall be joyful in Jehovah. 8 I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them: and they shall multiply as they used to multiply. 9 And I will sow them among the peoples, and they shall remember me in far countries; and they shall live with their children and return. 10 And I will bring them again out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and place shall not be found for them. 11 And he shall pass through the sea of affliction, and shall smite the billows in the sea, and all the depths of the Nile shall dry up; and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away. 12 And I will strengthen them in Jehovah; and they shall walk in his name, saith Jehovah.

Căci Domnul oștirilor Își cercetează*Luca 1:68. turma, casa lui Iuda, și o*Cânt. 1:9. va face ca pe calul Său de slavă în luptă. 4 Din el va ieși Piatra din capul unghiului*Num. 24:17.1 Sam. 14:38.Is. 19:13., din el va ieși*Is. 22:23. țărușul, din el va ieși arcul de război, din el vor ieși toate căpeteniile laolaltă. 5 Ei vor fi ca niște viteji care calcă*Ps. 18:42. în picioare noroiul de pe ulițe; în luptă, se vor lupta, pentru că Domnul va fi cu ei; iar călăreții vor fi acoperiți de rușine. 6 Voi întări casa lui Iuda și voi izbăvi casa lui Iosif; îi voi aduce*Ier. 3:18.Ezec. 37:21. înapoi, căci Mi-este*Osea 1:7. milă de ei și vor fi ca și când niciodată nu i-aș fi lepădat, căci Eu sunt Domnul Dumnezeul lor și-i voi asculta*Cap. 13:9.. 7 Efraim va fi ca un viteaz; inima*Ps. 104:15. Cap. 9:15. lor se va bucura ca de vin; fiii lor vor vedea lucrul acesta și se vor veseli, inima lor se va bucura în Domnul. 8 Le voi fluiera*Is. 5:26. și-i voi aduna, căci i-am răscumpărat, și se*Is. 49:19.Ezec. 36:37. vor înmulți cum se înmulțeau odinioară. 9 Îi voi risipi*Osea 2:23. printre popoare și își vor aduce aminte*Deut. 30:1. de Mine în țări depărtate; vor trăi împreună cu copiii lor și se vor întoarce. 10 Îi voi*Is. 11:11,16.Osea 11:11. aduce înapoi din țara Egiptului și-i voi aduna din Asiria; îi voi aduce în țara Galaadului și în Liban și nu le va ajunge*Is. 49:20. locul. 11 Israel*Is. 11:15,16. va trece prin strâmtorile mării, va lovi valurile mării și toate adâncimile râului Nil se vor usca; mândria Asiriei*Is. 14:25. va fi frântă și toiagul de cârmuire*Ezec. 30:13. al Egiptului va pieri. 12 Îi voi întări în Domnul și vor umbla în*Mica 4:5.
