1 God, even God, the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined forth.
3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.
4 He shall call to the heavens above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people:
5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.
6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness; for God is judge himself. Selah
7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify unto thee: I am God, even thy God.
8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices; and thy burnt offerings are continually before me.
9 I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he-goats out of thy folds.
10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.
11 I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.
12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.
13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?
14 Offer unto God the sacrifice of thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the Most High:
15 And call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
16 But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes; and that thou hast taken my covenant in thy mouth?
17 Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.
18 When thou sawest a thief, thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.
19 Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.
20 Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother’s son.
21 These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.
22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver:
23 Whoso offereth the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifieth me; and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.

1 Fala o Poderoso, o Senhor Deus,
e chama a terra desde o Oriente
até o Ocidente.
2 Desde Sião,
excelência de formosura,
resplandece Deus.
3 O nosso Deus vem
e não guarda silêncio.
À frente dele
vem um fogo devorador,
e ao seu redor
ruge grande tormenta.
4 Ele intima os céus lá em cima
e a terra,
para julgar o seu povo.
5 Ele diz: "Congreguem
os meus santos,
os que comigo fizeram aliança
por meio de sacrifícios."
6 Os céus anunciam a sua justiça,
porque é o próprio Deus que julga.
7 "Escute, meu povo, e eu falarei;
ó Israel, e eu testemunharei
contra você.
Eu sou Deus, o seu Deus.
8 Não o repreendo
pelos seus sacrifícios,
nem pelos holocaustos que você
continuamente me oferece.
9 Não aceitarei novilhos
da sua casa,
nem bodes dos seus apriscos.
10 Pois são meus
todos os animais do bosque
e o gado aos milhares
sobre as montanhas.
11 Conheço todas as aves
dos montes,
e são meus todos os animais
que vivem no campo."
12 "Se eu tivesse fome,
não teria necessidade
de dizê-lo a você,
pois meu é o mundo
e a sua plenitude.
13 Acaso como eu carne de touros?
Ou bebo sangue de cabritos?
14 Ofereça a Deus
sacrifício de ações de graças
e cumpra os seus votos
para com o Altíssimo.
15 Invoque-me no dia da angústia;
eu o livrarei,
e você me glorificará."
16 Mas ao ímpio Deus diz:
"De que lhe serve
repetir os meus preceitos
e ter nos lábios a minha aliança,
17 se você odeia a disciplina
e rejeita as minhas palavras?
18 Se vê um ladrão,
você se torna amigo dele,
e aos adúlteros você se associa.
19 Abre a boca para o mal,
e a sua língua trama enganos.
20 Senta-se para falar
contra o seu irmão
e difama o filho de sua mãe.
21 Você tem feito essas coisas,
e eu me calei;
você pensava
que eu era igual a você;
mas agora eu o repreenderei
e porei tudo à sua vista."
22 "Considerem, pois, nisto,
vocês que se esquecem
de Deus,
para que eu não os despedace,
sem haver quem os livre.
23 Aquele que me oferece sacrifício
de ações de graças,
esse me glorificará;
e ao que prepara o seu caminho,
farei com que veja
a salvação de Deus."
