1 Then again I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and behold, a flying roll. 2 And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits. 3 Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole land: for every one that stealeth shall be purged out on the one side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be purged out on the other side according to it. 4 I will cause it to go forth, saith the LORD of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall abide in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof. 5 Then the angel that talked with me went forth, and said unto me, Lift up now thine eyes, and see what is this that goeth forth. 6 And I said, What is it? And he said, This is the ephah that goeth forth. He said moreover, This is their resemblance in all the land: 7 (and behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead:) and this is a woman sitting in the midst of the ephah. 8 And he said, This is Wickedness; and he cast her down into the midst of the ephah: and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof. 9 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and saw, and behold, there came forth two women, and the wind was in their wings; now they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven. 10 Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the ephah? 11 And he said unto me, To build her an house in the land of Shinar: and when it is prepared, she shall be set there in her own place.

1 Tornei a levantar os olhos e vi, e eis um livro em forma de rolo que voava. 2 O anjo me perguntou:

— O que você está vendo?

Eu respondi:

— Vejo um rolo voando, que tem nove metros de comprimento e quatro metros e meio de largura.

3 Então ele me disse:

— Esta é a maldição que sai pela face de toda a terra. Porque quem roubar será expulso segundo a maldição, e quem jurar falsamente será expulso também segundo a mesma maldição. 4 Enviarei essa maldição, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, e a farei entrar na casa do ladrão e na casa do que jurar falsamente pelo meu nome; ela ficará nessas casas e consumirá a sua madeira e as suas pedras.

5 O anjo que falava comigo saiu e me disse:

— Levante os olhos e veja o que é isto que está saindo.

6 Eu perguntei:

— O que é isto?

Ele me respondeu:

— É um cesto que serve para medir.

E acrescentou:

— Isto é a iniquidade em toda a terra.

7 Então foi levantada a tampa de chumbo que cobria o cesto, e eis que uma mulher estava sentada dentro do cesto. 8 O anjo explicou:

— Isto é a maldade.

E a empurrou para o fundo do cesto, sobre cuja boca pôs o peso de chumbo.

9 Levantei os olhos e vi, e eis que saíram duas mulheres. Havia vento em suas asas, que eram como de cegonha; e levantaram o cesto entre a terra e o céu. 10 Então perguntei ao anjo que falava comigo:

— Para onde elas estão levando o cesto?

11 Ele respondeu:

— Para a terra de Sinar, onde edificarão um templo para aquela mulher. Quando o templo estiver concluído, ela será posta ali em seu próprio lugar.
