18 For ver. 18-22, see Mark 11:12-14,20-24In the morning, as he was returning to the city, ch. 4:2he became hungry. 19 [Luke 13:6-9]And seeing a fig tree by the wayside, he went to it and found nothing on it but only leaves. And he said to it, "May no fruit ever come from you again!" And the fig tree withered at once.
20 When the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, "How did the fig tree wither at once?" 21 And Jesus answered them, ch. 17:20"Truly, I say to you, [John 14:12] if you have faith and Acts 10:20;Rom. 4:20;14:23;James 1:6do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, [Ps. 46:2;1 Cor. 13:2;Rev. 8:8]‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.22 And [See ver. 21above] whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, See ch. 7:7if you have faith."
