1 喜爱教训的，就是喜爱知识；

厌恶责备的，却是愚顽人。

2 良善的人必得到耶和华的恩宠；

图谋奸计的人，耶和华必把他定罪。

3 人不能恃凭恶行坚立；

但义人的根必不动摇。

4 有才德的妻子是丈夫的冠冕，

贻羞的妇人，如同丈夫骨中的朽烂。

5 义人的筹算是公平，

恶人的计谋却是诡诈。

6 恶人的言语埋伏着，等待要流人的血，

正直人的口能拯救人。

7 恶人倾覆，就不再存在；

义人的家却必站立得住。

8 人因着自己的明慧必得称赞，

但心中乖谬的必被藐视。

9 被人轻看却有仆人的人，

胜过自尊自大却缺少食物的人。

10 义人连自己牲畜的性命也顾惜；

但恶人的怜悯也是残忍。

11 耕种自己田地的，也有充足的粮食；

追求虚幻的，实在无知。

12 恶人贪慕坏人的网罗；

义人的根得以结果。

13 坏人嘴里的过失，是自己的网罗；

但义人必脱离患难。

14 人因口所结的果子必饱尝美物；

人手所作的必归到他身上。

15 愚妄人所行的，在自己眼中看为正直，

只有智慧人肯听劝告。

16 愚妄人的恼怒立时显露，

精明的人却能忍受羞辱。

17 吐露真情的，彰显正义，

作假见证的却是诡诈。

18 有人说话不慎，好象利刀刺人，

智慧人的舌头却能医治人。

19 说实话的嘴唇，永远坚立；

撒谎的舌头，眨眼间消失。

20 图谋恶事的，心存诡诈；

使人和睦的，心中喜乐。

21 义人不会遭遇灾祸，

恶人却饱经祸患。

22 撒谎的嘴唇是耶和华憎恶的；

行事诚实是他所喜悦的。

23 精明的人隐藏自己的知识，

愚昧人的心却显出愚妄。

24 殷勤人的手必掌权，

懒惰人的手必作苦工。

25 心中忧虑，使人消沉；

一句良言使他欢喜。

26 义人作自己邻舍的引导；

恶人的道路，却使别人走迷。

27 懒惰的人不去烧烤他的猎物，

28 在公义的路上有生命，
