1 Filhos, obedeçam a seus pais no Senhor, pois isto é justo. 2 "Honre o seu pai e a sua mãe", que é o primeiro mandamento com promessa, 3 "para que tudo corra bem com você, e você tenha uma longa vida sobre a terra".

4 E vocês, pais, não provoquem os seus filhos à ira, mas tratem de criá-los na disciplina e na admoestação do Senhor.

5 Quanto a vocês, servos, obedeçam a seus senhores aqui na terra com temor e tremor, com sinceridade de coração, como a Cristo, 6 não servindo apenas quando estão sendo vigiados, somente para agradar pessoas, mas como servos de Cristo, fazendo de coração a vontade de Deus. 7 Sirvam de boa vontade, como se estivessem trabalhando para o Senhor e não para pessoas, 8 sabendo que cada um, se fizer alguma coisa boa, receberá isso outra vez do Senhor, seja servo, seja livre.

9 E vocês, senhores, façam o mesmo com os servos, deixando as ameaças, sabendo que o Senhor, tanto deles como de vocês, está nos céus, e que ele não trata as pessoas com parcialidade.

10 Quanto ao mais, sejam fortalecidos no Senhor e na força do seu poder. 11 Vistam-se com toda a armadura de Deus, para poderem ficar firmes contra as ciladas do diabo. 12 Porque a nossa luta não é contra o sangue e a carne, mas contra os principados e as potestades, contra os dominadores deste mundo tenebroso, contra as forças espirituais do mal, nas regiões celestiais. 13 Por isso, peguem toda a armadura de Deus, para que vocês possam resistir no dia mau e, depois de terem vencido tudo, permanecer inabaláveis.

14 Portanto, fiquem firmes, cingindo-se com a verdade e vestindo a couraça da justiça. 15 Tenham os pés calçados com a preparação do evangelho da paz, 16 segurando sempre o escudo da fé, com o qual poderão apagar todos os dardos inflamados do Maligno. 17 Usem também o capacete da salvação e a espada do Espírito, que é a palavra de Deus. 18 Orem em todo tempo no Espírito, com todo tipo de oração e súplica, e para isto vigiem com toda perseverança e súplica por todos os santos. 19 E orem também por mim, para que, no abrir da minha boca, me seja dada a palavra, para com ousadia tornar conhecido o mistério do evangelho, 20 pelo qual sou embaixador em cadeias, para que, em Cristo, eu seja ousado para falar, como me cumpre fazer.

21 E, para que saibam como estou e o que estou fazendo, Tíquico, o irmão amado e fiel ministro do Senhor, lhes dará todas as informações. 22 Eu o estou enviando a vocês com esta finalidade: para que conheçam a nossa situação e para que ele console o coração de vocês.

23 Paz seja com os irmãos e amor com fé, da parte de Deus Pai e do Senhor Jesus Cristo. 24 A graça esteja com todos os que amam sinceramente o nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.

1 Children, obey your parents in Lord, for this is right.2 Honor thy father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise,3 so that it may become well with thee, and thou will be long lasting on the earth.4 And ye fathers, do not exasperate your children, but rear them in the training and admonition of Lord.5 Bondmen, be obedient to the masters according to flesh, with fear and trembling, in simplicity of your heart as to the Christ.6 Not according to eye-service, as men-pleasers, but as bondmen of Christ, doing the will of God from the soul,7 bond-serving with goodwill, as to the Lord and not to men.8 Knowing that whatever good thing each may do, he will receive this from the Lord, whether bondman or freeman.9 And ye masters, do the same things to them, easing up the threats, knowing also that the master of you yourselves is in the heavens, and there is no partiality from him.10 Finally my brothers, be strong in Lord and in the power of his might.11 Put on the full armor of God to enable you to stand against the wiles of the devil.12 Because our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principal offices, against the positions of authority, against the world-rulers of the darkness of this age, against the spiritual things of wickedness in the he13 Because of this take ye up the full armor of God, so that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.14 Stand ye therefore having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,15 and having shod your feet in preparation of the good-news of peace.16 Above all having taken up the shield of faith, by which ye will be able to quench all the fiery darts of evil.17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,18 praying through every prayer and entreaty at every time in spirit, and being alert in this same thing in all perseverance and entreaty for all the sanctified,19 and for me, so that utterance may be given to me in boldness in opening my mouth to make known the mystery of the good-news,20 for which I am an ambassador in bondage, so that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.21 But that ye also may know the things concerning me, what I do, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful helper in Lord, will make known all things to you.22 Whom I sent to you for this same thing, so that ye might know the things about us, and that he might encourage your hearts.23 Peace to the brothers, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.24 The grace is with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptibility.
