1 A palavra do Senhor dos Exércitos veio a mim, dizendo:

2 — Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Tenho grande amor por Sião. É um amor tão grande que me leva à indignação contra os seus inimigos.

3 — Assim diz o Senhor: Voltarei para Sião e habitarei no meio de Jerusalém. E Jerusalém será chamada de "Cidade Fiel", e o monte do Senhor dos Exércitos será chamado de "Monte Santo".

4 — Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Os velhos e as velhas voltarão a sentar-se nas praças de Jerusalém, levando cada um na mão a sua bengala, por causa da sua muita idade. 5 As praças da cidade se encherão de meninos e meninas, que nelas brincarão.

6 — Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Isso pode parecer impossível aos olhos do remanescente deste povo naqueles dias, mas não será impossível para mim, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.

7 — Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Eis que salvarei o meu povo, tirando-o da terra do Oriente e da terra do Ocidente. 8 Eu os trarei, e habitarão em Jerusalém. Eles serão o meu povo, e eu serei o seu Deus, em verdade e em justiça.

9 — Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Sejam fortes, todos vocês que nestes dias estão ouvindo estas palavras da boca dos profetas, a saber, nos dias em que foram lançados os alicerces da Casa do Senhor dos Exércitos, para que o templo fosse construído. 10 Porque, antes daqueles dias, não havia salário para os trabalhadores, nem pagamento pelo trabalho dos animais. Não havia paz para o que entrava, nem para o que saía, por causa dos inimigos, porque eu incitei cada um contra o seu próximo. 11 Mas, agora, não tratarei o remanescente deste povo como tratei o povo no passado, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos. 12 Porque haverá semeadura em paz, as videiras darão o seu fruto, a terra, as suas colheitas, e os céus, o seu orvalho. E farei com que o remanescente deste povo herde tudo isso. 13 Casa de Judá e casa de Israel, assim como vocês foram uma maldição entre as nações, assim agora eu os salvarei, e vocês serão uma bênção. Não tenham medo! Pelo contrário, sejam fortes!

14 — Porque assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Assim como eu havia decidido castigar vocês, quando os seus pais me provocaram à ira, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, e não mudei de ideia, 15 também decidi agora fazer bem a Jerusalém e à casa de Judá nestes dias. Não tenham medo! 16 Eis as coisas que vocês devem fazer: Que cada um fale a verdade com o seu próximo. Nos tribunais, julguem com justiça, segundo a verdade, em favor da paz. 17 Que ninguém faça planos para prejudicar o seu próximo, nem ame o juramento falso, porque eu odeio todas estas coisas, diz o Senhor.

18 A palavra do Senhor dos Exércitos veio a mim, dizendo:

19 — Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: O jejum do quarto mês, o do quinto, o do sétimo e o do décimo serão para a casa de Judá um dia de júbilo, alegria e festividades solenes. Portanto, amem a verdade e a paz.

20 — Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Ainda virão povos e moradores de muitas cidades, 21 e os moradores de uma cidade irão à outra, dizendo: "Vamos depressa suplicar o favor do Senhor e buscar o Senhor dos Exércitos; eu também irei." 22 Muitos povos e nações poderosas virão a Jerusalém buscar o Senhor dos Exércitos e suplicar o favor do Senhor.

23 — Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Naqueles dias, dez homens, de todas as línguas das nações, pegarão, sim, pegarão na borda da roupa de um judeu e lhe dirão: "Queremos ir com vocês, porque ouvimos que Deus está com vocês."

1 And the word of LORD of hosts came [to me], saying,2 Thus says LORD of hosts: I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I am jealous for her with great wrath.3 Thus says LORD: I am returned to Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. And Jerusalem shall be called The city of truth, and the mountain of LORD of hosts, The holy mountain.4 Thus says LORD of hosts: There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, every man with his staff in his hand for very age.5 And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets of it.6 Thus says LORD of hosts: If it is marvelous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, should it also be marvelous in my eyes? says LORD of hosts.7 Thus says LORD of hosts: Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country.8 And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. And they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.9 Thus says LORD of hosts: Let your hands be strong, ye who hear in these days these words from the mouth of the prophets who were in the day that the foundation of the house of LORD of hosts was laid, even the temple, that it might10 For before those days there was no wage for man, nor any wage for beast, nor was there any peace to him who went out or came in, because of the adversary. For I set all men each one against his neighbor.11 But now I will not be to the remnant of this people as in the former days, says LORD of hosts.12 For [there shall be] the seed of peace. The vine shall give its fruit, and the ground shall give its increase, and the heavens shall give their dew. And I will cause the remnant of this people to inherit all these things.13 And it shall come to pass that, as ye were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you, and ye shall be a blessing. Fear not. Let your hands be strong.14 For thus says LORD of hosts: As I thought to do evil to you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath, says LORD of hosts, and I did not relent,15 so again I have thought in these days to do good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. Fear ye not.16 These are the things that ye shall do: Speak ye every man the truth with his neighbor. Execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates.17 And let none of you devise evil in your hearts against his neighbor, and love no FALSE oath. For all these are things that I hate, says LORD.18 And the word of LORD of hosts came to me, saying,19 Thus says LORD of hosts: The fast of the fourth [month], and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah, joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts. Therefore love truth20 Thus says LORD of hosts: Peoples shall yet come, and the inhabitants of many cities.21 And the inhabitants of one [city] shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to entreat the favor of LORD, and to seek LORD of hosts. I will go also.22 Yea, many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to entreat the favor of LORD.23 Thus says LORD of hosts: In those days, ten men shall take hold, out of all the languages of the nations, they shall take hold of the skirt of him who is a Jew, saying, We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.
