1 Por isso, você é indesculpável quando julga os outros, não importando quem você é. Pois, naquilo que julga o outro, você está condenando a si mesmo, porque pratica as mesmas coisas que condena. 2 Bem sabemos que o juízo de Deus é segundo a verdade contra os que praticam tais coisas. 3 E você, que condena os que praticam tais coisas, mas faz o mesmo que eles fazem, pensa que conseguirá se livrar do juízo de Deus? 4 Ou será que você despreza a riqueza da bondade, da tolerância e da paciência de Deus, ignorando que a bondade de Deus é que leva você ao arrependimento? 5 Mas, por ser teimoso e ter um coração impenitente, você acumula contra si mesmo ira para o dia da ira e da revelação do justo juízo de Deus, 6 que retribuirá a cada um segundo as suas obras: 7 a vida eterna aos que, perseverando em fazer o bem, procuram glória, honra e incorruptibilidade; 8 mas ira e indignação para os egoístas, que desobedecem à verdade e obedecem à injustiça. 9 Tribulação e angústia virão sobre todo aquele que faz o mal, ao judeu primeiro e também ao grego; 10 mas haverá glória, honra e paz a todo aquele que pratica o bem, ao judeu primeiro e também ao grego. 11 Porque Deus não trata as pessoas com parcialidade.

12 Assim, todos os que pecaram sem lei também sem lei perecerão; e todos os que pecaram sob a lei serão julgados pela lei. 13 Porque justos diante de Deus não são aqueles que somente ouvem a lei, mas os que praticam a lei é que serão justificados. 14 Quando, pois, os gentios, que não têm a lei, fazem, por natureza, o que a lei ordena, eles se tornam lei para si mesmos, embora não tenham a lei. 15 Estes mostram a obra da lei gravada no seu coração, o que é confirmado pela consciência deles e pelos seus pensamentos conflitantes, que às vezes os acusam e às vezes os defendem, 16 no dia em que Deus, por meio de Cristo Jesus, julgar os segredos das pessoas, de acordo com o meu evangelho.

17 Mas, se você diz que é judeu, confia na lei e se gloria em Deus; 18 se você conhece a vontade de Deus e aprova as coisas excelentes, sendo instruído na lei; 19 se você está convencido de que é guia dos cegos, luz dos que se encontram em trevas, 20 instrutor de insensatos, mestre de crianças, tendo na lei a forma da sabedoria e da verdade — 21 você, pois, que ensina os outros, não ensina a si mesmo? Você, que prega que não se deve roubar, rouba? 22 Você, que diz que não se deve cometer adultério, adultera? Você, que detesta ídolos, rouba os templos? 23 Você, que se gloria na lei, desonra a Deus pela transgressão da lei? 24 Pois, como está escrito: "O nome de Deus é blasfemado entre os gentios por causa de vocês."

25 A circuncisão tem valor se você pratica a lei; mas, se você é transgressor da lei, a sua circuncisão já se tornou incircuncisão. 26 Portanto, se a incircuncisão observa os preceitos da lei, não será essa incircuncisão considerada como circuncisão? 27 E, se aquele que é incircunciso por natureza cumpre a lei, certamente ele julgará você, que, embora tenha a letra da lei e a circuncisão, é transgressor da lei. 28 Porque não é judeu quem o é apenas exteriormente, nem é circuncisão a que é somente na carne. 29 Porém judeu é aquele que o é interiormente, e circuncisão é a do coração, pelo Espírito, não segundo a letra, e cujo louvor não procede de seres humanos, mas de Deus.

1 Wherefore thou art without excuse, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest dost practise the same things. 2 And we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against them that practise such things. 3 And reckonest thou this, O man, who judgest them that practise such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? 4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? 5 but after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up for thyself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; 6 who will render to every man according to his works: 7 to them that by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and incorruption, eternal life: 8 but unto them that are factious, and obey not the truth, but obey unrighteousness, shall be wrath and indignation, 9 tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that worketh evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Greek; 10 but glory and honor and peace to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek: 11 for there is no respect of persons with God. 12 For as many as have sinned without the law shall also perish without the law: and as many as have sinned under the law shall be judged by the law; 13 for not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified; 14 (for when Gentiles that have not the law do by nature the things of the law, these, not having the law, are the law unto themselves; 15 in that they show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness therewith, and their thoughts one with another accusing or else excusing them); 16 in the day when God shall judge the secrets of men, according to my gospel, by Jesus Christ.

17 But if thou bearest the name of a Jew, and restest upon the law, and gloriest in God, 18 and knowest his will, and approvest the things that are excellent, being instructed out of the law, 19 and art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them that are in darkness, 20 a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of babes, having in the law the form of knowledge and of the truth; 21 thou therefore that teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? 22 thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou rob temples? 23 thou who gloriest in the law, through thy transgression of the law dishonorest thou God? 24 For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you, even as it is written. 25 For circumcision indeed profiteth, if thou be a doer of the law: but if thou be a transgressor of the law, thy circumcision is become uncircumcision. 26 If therefore the uncircumcision keep the ordinances of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be reckoned for circumcision? 27 and shall not the uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who with the letter and circumcision art a transgressor of the law? 28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision which is outward in the flesh: 29 but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
