1 Quando algum de vocês tem uma questão contra outro, como se atreve a submeter isso a juízo diante dos injustos e não diante dos santos? 2 Ou vocês não sabem que os santos hão de julgar o mundo? Ora, se o mundo deverá ser julgado por vocês, será que vocês não são competentes para julgar as coisas mínimas? 3 Por acaso vocês não sabem que havemos de julgar os próprios anjos? Quanto mais as coisas desta vida! 4 Portanto, quando precisam julgar negócios terrenos, por que vocês constituem como juízes aqueles que não têm nenhuma aceitação na igreja? 5 Digo isso para a vergonha de vocês. Será que não existe nem ao menos um sábio entre vocês, que possa julgar entre seus irmãos? 6 Mas um irmão vai a juízo contra outro irmão, e isto diante de não crentes!

7 O simples fato de moverem ações uns contra os outros já é completa derrota para vocês. Por que não preferem sofrer a injustiça? Por que não preferem ficar com o prejuízo? 8 Mas vocês mesmos cometem injustiça e causam prejuízo, e isto aos próprios irmãos! 9 Ou vocês não sabem que os injustos não herdarão o Reino de Deus? Não se enganem: nem imorais, nem idólatras, nem adúlteros, nem afeminados, nem homossexuais, 10 nem ladrões, nem avarentos, nem bêbados, nem maldizentes, nem roubadores herdarão o Reino de Deus. 11 Alguns de vocês eram assim. Mas vocês foram lavados, foram santificados, foram justificados no nome do Senhor Jesus Cristo e no Espírito do nosso Deus.

12 "Todas as coisas me são lícitas", mas nem todas convêm. "Todas as coisas me são lícitas", mas eu não me deixarei dominar por nenhuma delas. 13 "Os alimentos são para o estômago, e o estômago existe para os alimentos." Mas Deus destruirá tanto o estômago quanto os alimentos. Porém o corpo não é para a imoralidade, mas para o Senhor, e o Senhor, para o corpo. 14 Deus ressuscitou o Senhor e também nos ressuscitará pelo seu poder.

15 Vocês não sabem que o corpo de cada um de vocês é membro de Cristo? E será que eu tomaria os membros de Cristo e os faria membros de uma prostituta? De modo nenhum! 16 Ou não sabem que o homem que se une à prostituta forma um só corpo com ela? Porque, como se diz, "os dois se tornarão uma só carne". 17 Mas aquele que se une ao Senhor é um só espírito com ele.

18 Fujam da imoralidade sexual! Qualquer outro pecado que uma pessoa cometer é fora do corpo; mas aquele que pratica imoralidade sexual peca contra o próprio corpo. 19 Será que vocês não sabem que o corpo de vocês é santuário do Espírito Santo, que está em vocês e que vocês receberam de Deus, e que vocês não pertencem a vocês mesmos? 20 Porque vocês foram comprados por preço. Agora, pois, glorifiquem a Deus no corpo de vocês.

1 If you have a dispute with another Christian do you dare to go to a law court before judges who are ungodly? Why not let the holy ones decide who is right?2 Do you not know that the holy ones will judge the world? And if you will judge the world, are you unworthy to judge these small matters?3 Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the matters that pertain to this life?4 If you have judgments of things pertaining to this life, would you appoint as judges those who mean nothing to the congregation?5 I speak to shame you. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? Not one who would be able to judge between his brothers?6 But brother goes to court against brother, and this before unbelievers.7 It is already a defeat for you that you have lawsuits with one another. Why not let yourself be wronged? Why not let your selves be defrauded cheated?8 Instead you do wrong and defraud, and you do this to your brothers and sisters!9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither fornicators, nor people who worship idols, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,10 nor thieves, nor covetous greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortionists, will inherit the kingdom of God.11 That is what some of you were. You have been washed clean and now you are sanctified. The Spirit of our God declares you righteous in the name of the Lord Jesus.12 All things are lawful to me, but all things are not expedient profitablegood. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the authority powercontrol of anything.13 Foods are for the belly, and the belly for foods, but God will destroy both of them. Now the body is not for fornication but for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body.14 God has resurrected the Lord, and will also resurrect us by his own power.15 Do you not know that your bodies are the members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ, and unite them with turn them into the members of a prostitute? God forbid!16 What? Do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one united with her body? For he said: »Two will be one flesh.«17 He who is joined to the Lord is one united with him in spirit.18 Flee from fornication! Every sin that a man does is outside his body. But he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.19 What? Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit? That one Greek: »hos he ho« which, that one is in you. You received it from God. You are not your own.20 You are bought with a price! Therefore glorify God in your body.
