1 Irmãos, quando estive com vocês, anunciando-lhes o mistério de Deus, não o fiz com ostentação de linguagem ou de sabedoria. 2 Porque decidi nada saber entre vocês, a não ser Jesus Cristo, e este, crucificado. 3 E foi em fraqueza, temor e grande tremor que eu estive entre vocês. 4 A minha palavra e a minha pregação não consistiram em linguagem persuasiva de sabedoria, mas em demonstração do Espírito e de poder, 5 para que a fé que vocês têm não se apoiasse em sabedoria humana, mas no poder de Deus.

6 No entanto, transmitimos sabedoria entre os que são maduros. Não, porém, a sabedoria deste mundo, nem a dos poderosos desta época, que são reduzidos a nada. 7 Pelo contrário, transmitimos a sabedoria de Deus em mistério, a sabedoria que estava oculta e que Deus predeterminou desde a eternidade para a nossa glória. 8 Nenhum dos poderosos deste mundo conheceu essa sabedoria. Porque, se a tivessem conhecido, jamais teriam crucificado o Senhor da glória. 9 Mas, como está escrito:

"Nem olhos viram,

nem ouvidos ouviram,

nem jamais penetrou

em coração humano

o que Deus tem preparado

para aqueles que o amam."

10 Deus, porém, revelou isso a nós por meio do Espírito. Porque o Espírito sonda todas as coisas, até mesmo as profundezas de Deus. 11 Pois quem conhece as coisas do ser humano, a não ser o próprio espírito humano, que nele está? Assim, ninguém conhece as coisas de Deus, a não ser o Espírito de Deus. 12 E nós não temos recebido o espírito do mundo, e sim o Espírito que vem de Deus, para que conheçamos o que por Deus nos foi dado gratuitamente.

13 Disto também falamos, não em palavras ensinadas pela sabedoria humana, mas ensinadas pelo Espírito, conferindo coisas espirituais com espirituais. 14 Ora, a pessoa natural não aceita as coisas do Espírito de Deus, porque lhe são loucura. E ela não pode entendê-las, porque elas se discernem espiritualmente. 15 Porém a pessoa espiritual julga todas as coisas, mas ela não é julgada por ninguém. 16 Pois quem conheceu a mente do Senhor, para que o possa instruir? Nós, porém, temos a mente de Cristo.

1 Brothers, I did not come to you with superiority of speech or with human wisdom, declaring to you the testimony of God.2 I decided not to know anything among you, except Jesus Christ and his death on the torture stake.3 And I came to you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.4 My speech and my preaching were not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,5 that your faith should not exist in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.6 How is it we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, or of the rulers of this age, who come to nothing are doomed to destruction?7 We speak the wisdom of God in a secret, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the ages generations and human entities for our glory.8 None of the rulers of this age knew understood for had they known it they would not have impaled the glorious Lord esteemed Master.9 It is written: »Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, and it has not entered into the heart of man, the things God prepared for those who love him.« (Isaiah 64:4)10 But God revealed them to us by his Spirit. For the Spirit investigates searches all things, yes even the deep things of God.11 For what man knows the things of a man, except the mental disposition that is in man? Even so no one knows the things of God, but the Spirit of God.12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit that is from God. This is so we might know the things that are freely given to us from God.13 We speak these things, not in the words that man's wisdom teaches. But we speak them with the words the Holy Spirit teaches comparing spiritual things with spiritual things.14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God. They are foolishness to him! He cannot know them, because they are spiritually discerned.15 He that is spiritual judges all things, yet no man judges him.16 »Who has understood the mind of Jehovah, or has instructed him, as his counselor?« (Isaiah 40:13) But we do have the mind purposefeelingsthoughtsunderstanding of Christ.
