1 Foi-me dado um caniço semelhante a uma vara, e também me foi dito:

— Levante-se e vá medir o santuário de Deus, o altar, e os que adoram no santuário. 2 Mas deixe de lado o átrio exterior do santuário e não o meça, porque esse átrio foi dado aos gentios, que, por quarenta e dois meses, pisarão a cidade santa. 3 Darei autoridade às minhas duas testemunhas para que profetizem durante mil duzentos e sessenta dias, vestidas de pano de saco.

4 São estas as duas oliveiras e os dois candelabros que estão em pé diante do Senhor da terra. 5 Se alguém pretende causar-lhes dano, da boca dessas testemunhas sai fogo e devora os inimigos; sim, se alguém pretender causar-lhes dano, certamente deve morrer. 6 Elas têm autoridade para fechar o céu, para que não chova durante os dias em que profetizarem. Têm autoridade também sobre as águas, para transformá-las em sangue, bem como para ferir a terra com todo tipo de flagelos, tantas vezes quantas quiserem.

7 Quando tiverem, então, concluído o testemunho que devem dar, a besta que surge do abismo fará guerra contra elas; a besta vencerá e matará as testemunhas. 8 E os seus cadáveres ficarão estirados na praça da grande cidade que, espiritualmente, se chama Sodoma e Egito, onde também o seu Senhor foi crucificado. 9 Então, muitos dentre os povos, tribos, línguas e nações contemplarão os cadáveres das duas testemunhas, por três dias e meio, e não permitirão que esses cadáveres sejam sepultados. 10 Os que habitam sobre a terra se alegrarão por causa da morte dessas duas testemunhas, realizarão festas e enviarão presentes uns aos outros, porque esses dois profetas atormentaram os que moram sobre a terra.

11 Mas, depois dos três dias e meio, entrou neles um espírito de vida vindo da parte de Deus, e eles se ergueram sobre os pés, e aqueles que os viram ficaram com muito medo. 12 E as duas testemunhas ouviram uma voz forte vinda do céu, dizendo-lhes:

— Subam para cá.

E subiram ao céu numa nuvem, e os seus inimigos as contemplaram. 13 Naquela hora, houve grande terremoto, e ruiu a décima parte da cidade. Nesse terremoto, morreram sete mil pessoas. As outras pessoas ficaram aterrorizadas e deram glória ao Deus do céu.

14 Passou o segundo ai. Eis que, sem demora, vem o terceiro ai.

15 O sétimo anjo tocou a trombeta, e houve no céu vozes fortes, dizendo:

"O reino do mundo se tornou

de nosso Senhor

e do seu Cristo,

e ele reinará

para todo o sempre."

16 E os vinte e quatro anciãos que estavam sentados no seu trono, diante de Deus, prostraram-se sobre o seu rosto e adoraram a Deus, 17 dizendo:

"Graças te damos, Senhor Deus,

Todo-Poderoso,

que és e que eras,

porque assumiste

o teu grande poder

e passaste a reinar.

18 Na verdade, as nações

se enfureceram;

chegou, porém, a tua ira,

e o tempo determinado

para serem julgados os mortos,

para se dar o galardão

aos teus servos, os profetas,

aos santos e aos que temem

o teu nome,

tanto aos pequenos

como aos grandes,

e para destruíres

os que destroem a terra."

19 Abriu-se, então, o santuário de Deus, que se acha no céu, e foi vista a arca da sua aliança no seu santuário, e sobrevieram relâmpagos, vozes, trovões, terremoto e forte chuva de granizo.

1 There was given me a reed like a measuring rod: and the angel stood, saying: "Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and those who worship there.2 "Do not measure the court outside the temple for it is given to the nations. They will tread the holy city under foot for forty-two months.3 "I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy a thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth."4 These witnesses are the two olive trees, and the two lamp stands standing before the God of the earth.5 If any man will hurt them, fire proceeds out of their mouth, and devours their enemies. If any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.6 These two witnesses have power to shut the sky so that it will not rain in the days of their prophecy. They have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.7 When they finished their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them and conquer them, and kill them.8 Their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was impaled.9 The people and tribes and tongues and nations will see their dead bodies three and a half days, and will look at them and refuse to bury them.10 The inhabitants of the earth will celebrate and rejoice over them. They will rejoice and send gifts to one another. This is because these two prophets tormented those who lived on the earth.11 After three and a half days the breath of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet. Great fear fell upon all who saw them.12 They heard a great voice from heaven say: "Come up here." So they ascended up to heaven in a cloud as their enemies beheld them.13 In that same hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand men were slain in the earthquake, and the survivors were afraid and gave glory to the God of heaven.14 The second woe has past. The third woe will come quickly.15 The seventh angel blew his trumpet. There were great voices in heaven, saying: "The kingdom of the world has become our God’s, and his Christ will rule as king forever and ever."16 The twenty-four elders, who sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshiped God,17 Saying: "We give you thanks, Jehovah God the Almighty, the one who is and who was, because you have taken your great power, and begun to rule as king. (Exodus 6:3) (Amos 4:13)18 "The nations were angry. Your wrath indignation has come! It is time to judge the dead, to reward your servants the prophets, the holy ones, and those who reverence your name the small and the great. Time to destroy exterminateeradicate those who destroy the earth."19 The temple of God was opened in heaven. There was seen in his temple the ark of his covenant. And there were lightnings and voices and thunder and an earthquake and great hail.
