1 Depois o Senhor disse a Moisés:

2 — No primeiro dia do primeiro mês, arme o tabernáculo da tenda do encontro. 3 Ponha nele a arca do testemunho e cubra-a com o véu. 4 Ponha nele a mesa e coloque em ordem as coisas que estão sobre ela; ponha nele também o candelabro e monte as suas lâmpadas. 5 Coloque o altar de ouro para o incenso diante da arca do testemunho e pendure o cortinado da porta do tabernáculo. 6 Coloque o altar do holocausto diante da porta do tabernáculo da tenda do encontro. 7 Ponha a bacia entre a tenda do encontro e o altar e encha-a com água. 8 Depois, arme o átrio ao redor e pendure o cortinado à porta do átrio.

9 — Pegue o óleo da unção, e unja o tabernáculo e tudo o que nele está, e consagre-o com todos os seus pertences; e será santo. 10 Unja também o altar do holocausto e todos os seus utensílios e consagre o altar; e o altar se tornará santíssimo. 11 Depois, unja a bacia e o seu suporte e consagre-a.

12 — Faça com que Arão e seus filhos se aproximem da porta da tenda do encontro e mande que se lavem com água. 13 Vista Arão com as vestes sagradas, unja e consagre-o para que me sirva como sacerdote. 14 Faça com que também os filhos de Arão se aproximem, vista-os com as túnicas, 15 e unja-os assim como você ungiu o pai deles, para que me oficiem como sacerdotes; sua unção lhes será por sacerdócio perpétuo de geração em geração.

16 E Moisés fez tudo segundo o Senhor lhe havia ordenado. 17 No primeiro mês do segundo ano, no primeiro dia do mês, o tabernáculo foi armado. 18 Moisés ergueu o tabernáculo, pôs as suas bases, armou as suas tábuas, colocou nele as suas vigas superiores e levantou as suas colunas; 19 estendeu a tenda sobre o tabernáculo e pôs a cobertura da tenda por cima, segundo o Senhor havia ordenado a Moisés. 20 Pegou o testemunho e o pôs na arca, passou os cabos na arca e pôs o propiciatório em cima da arca. 21 Introduziu a arca no tabernáculo, pendurou o véu do cortinado e com ele cobriu a arca do testemunho, segundo o Senhor havia ordenado a Moisés. 22 Pôs também a mesa na tenda do encontro, ao lado do tabernáculo, para o norte, fora do véu, 23 e sobre ela pôs em ordem os pães da proposição diante do Senhor, segundo o Senhor havia ordenado a Moisés. 24 Pôs também, na tenda do encontro, o candelabro diante da mesa, ao lado do tabernáculo, para o sul, 25 e preparou as lâmpadas diante do Senhor, segundo o Senhor havia ordenado a Moisés. 26 Pôs o altar de ouro na tenda do encontro, diante do véu, 27 e acendeu sobre ele o incenso aromático, segundo o Senhor havia ordenado a Moisés. 28 Pendurou também o cortinado da porta do tabernáculo, 29 pôs o altar do holocausto à porta do tabernáculo da tenda do encontro e ofereceu sobre ele holocausto e oferta de cereais, segundo o Senhor havia ordenado a Moisés. 30 Pôs a bacia entre a tenda do encontro e o altar e a encheu de água, para se lavar. 31 Nela, Moisés, Arão e seus filhos lavavam as mãos e os pés, 32 quando entravam na tenda do encontro e quando se aproximavam do altar, segundo o Senhor havia ordenado a Moisés. 33 Levantou também o átrio ao redor do tabernáculo e do altar e pendurou o cortinado da porta do átrio. Assim Moisés acabou a obra.

34 Então a nuvem cobriu a tenda do encontro, e a glória do Senhor encheu o tabernáculo. 35 Moisés não podia entrar na tenda do encontro, porque a nuvem permanecia sobre ela, e a glória do Senhor enchia o tabernáculo. 36 Quando a nuvem se levantava de sobre o tabernáculo, os filhos de Israel seguiam adiante, em todas as suas jornadas; 37 se a nuvem, porém, não se levantava, não seguiam adiante, até o dia em que ela se levantava. 38 De dia, a nuvem do Senhor repousava sobre o tabernáculo, e, de noite, havia fogo nela, à vista de toda a casa de Israel, em todas as suas jornadas.

1 Jehovah said to Moses:2 »Set up the tabernacle of the tent of meeting on the first day of the first month of the year.3 »Place the Ark containing the words of my covenant inside it, and hang the canopy over the ark.4 »Bring in the table and place the equipment on it. Also bring the lamp stand and set up the lamps on it.5 »Put the gold altar for burning incense in front of the Covenant Box and hang the curtain at the entrance of the Tabernacle.6 »Place the altar for burning offerings in front of the Tabernacle.7 »Set the washbasin between the Tabernacle and the altar and fill it with water.8 »Put up the surrounding enclosure and hang the curtain at its entrance.9 »Then dedicate the Tabernacle and all its equipment by anointing it with the sacred oil, and it will be holy.10 »Dedicate the altar and all its equipment by anointing it, and it will be completely holy.11 »Also dedicate the washbasin and its base in the same way.12 »Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the Tabernacle, and have them take a ritual bath.13 »Dress Aaron in the priestly garments and anoint him. Consecrate him so that he can serve me as priest.14 »Bring his sons and put the shirts on them.15 »Anoint them just as you anointed their father that they can serve me as priests. This anointing will make them priests for generations to come.«16 Moses did everything just as Jehovah commanded.17 The Tent of Jehovah’s presence was set up on the first day of the first month of the second year after they left Egypt.18 When Moses set up the tent, he put the sockets in place, put up the frames, inserted the crossbars, and set up the posts.19 He spread the outer tent over the inner tent and put the cover on top. Moses followed Jehovah’s instructions.20 He took the words of God’s promise covenant and put them in the ark. He put the poles on the ark and placed the throne of mercy on top of the ark.21 Then he brought the ark into the tent and hung the canopy over it to mark off where the ark was. Moses followed Jehovah’s instructions.22 Moses put the table in the tent of meeting on the north side of the tent outside the canopy.23 He arranged the bread on the table in Jehovah’s presence, following Jehovah’s instructions.24 He placed the lamp stand in the tent of meeting opposite the table, on the south side of the tent.25 He set the lighted lamps in Jehovah’s presence, following Jehovah’s instructions.26 Moses put the gold altar in the tent of meeting in front of the canopy.27 He burned sweet incense on it, following Jehovah’s instructions.28 Then he put up the screen at the entrance to the tent.29 He put the altar for burnt offerings at the entrance to the tabernacle of the tent of meeting. He sacrificed burnt offerings and grain offerings on it. Moses followed Jehovah’s instructions.30 He put the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it for washing.31 Moses, Aaron, and his sons used this water to wash their hands and feet.32 They washed whenever they went into the tent of meeting or whenever they approached the altar. Moses obeyed Jehovah’s instructions.33 He set up the courtyard around the tent and the altar and put up the screen at the entrance to the courtyard. At last Moses finished the work.34 The column of smoke then covered the tent of meeting. The glory of Jehovah filled the tent.35 Moses could not go into the tent of meeting because the smoke settled on it and the glory of Jehovah filled the tent.36 In all their travels, when the column of smoke moved from the tent, the Israelites would break camp.37 But if the column did not move, they would not break camp.38 Jehovah’s column of smoke stayed over the tent during the day. There was fire in the smoke at night. This way all the Israelites could see the column throughout their travels.
