1 Portanto, irmãos, pelas misericórdias de Deus, peço que ofereçam o seu corpo como sacrifício vivo, santo e agradável a Deus. Este é o culto racional de vocês. 2 E não vivam conforme os padrões deste mundo, mas deixem que Deus os transforme pela renovação da mente, para que possam experimentar qual é a boa, agradável e perfeita vontade de Deus.

3 Porque, pela graça que me foi dada, digo a cada um de vocês que não pense de si mesmo além do que convém. Pelo contrário, pense com moderação, segundo a medida da fé que Deus repartiu a cada um. 4 Porque assim como num só corpo temos muitos membros, mas nem todos os membros têm a mesma função, 5 assim também nós, embora sejamos muitos, somos um só corpo em Cristo e membros uns dos outros. 6 Temos, porém, diferentes dons segundo a graça que nos foi dada: se é profecia, seja segundo a proporção da fé; 7 se é ministério, dediquemo-nos ao ministério; o que ensina dedique-se ao ensino; 8 o que exorta faça-o com dedicação; o que contribui, com generosidade; o que preside, com zelo; quem exerce misericórdia, com alegria.

9 O amor seja sem hipocrisia. Odeiem o mal e apeguem-se ao bem. 10 Amem uns aos outros com amor fraternal. Quanto à honra, deem sempre preferência aos outros. 11 Quanto ao zelo, não sejam preguiçosos. Sejam fervorosos de espírito, servindo o Senhor. 12 Alegrem-se na esperança, sejam pacientes na tribulação e perseverem na oração. 13 Ajudem a suprir as necessidades dos santos. Pratiquem a hospitalidade.

14 Abençoem aqueles que perseguem vocês; abençoem e não amaldiçoem. 15 Alegrem-se com os que se alegram e chorem com os que choram. 16 Tenham o mesmo modo de pensar de uns para com os outros. Em vez de serem orgulhosos, sejam solidários com os humildes. Não sejam sábios aos seus próprios olhos.

17 Não paguem a ninguém mal por mal; procurem fazer o bem diante de todos. 18 Se possível, no que depender de vocês, vivam em paz com todas as pessoas. 19 Meus amados, não façam justiça com as próprias mãos, mas deem lugar à ira de Deus, pois está escrito:

"A mim pertence a vingança;

eu é que retribuirei,

diz o Senhor."

20 Façam o contrário:

"Se o seu inimigo tiver fome,

dê-lhe de comer;

se tiver sede,

dê-lhe de beber;

porque, fazendo isto,

você amontoará brasas vivas

sobre a cabeça dele."

21 Não se deixe vencer pelo mal, mas vença o mal com o bem.

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, through the compassions of God, to present your bodies a living, holy sacrifice, unto God acceptable,your rational divine service;

2 And be not configuring yourselves unto this age, but be transforming yourselves by the renewing of your mind, to the end ye may be proving what is the thing willed by Godthe good and acceptable and perfect.

3 For I say, through the favour which hath been given me, unto every one who is among you,not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but so to think as to think soberlyas, unto each one, God hath dealt a measure of faith.

4 For, just as in one body we have many members, yet, all the members, have not the same office,

5 So, we, the many, are one body in Christ, yet, severally, members one of another.

6 Now, having gifts of favour, according to the favour given unto us, differingwhether prophesying, according to the proportion of our faith,

7 Or ministering, in his teaching,

8 Or he that exhorteth, in his exhorting, he that imparteth, with liberality, he that taketh a lead, with diligence, he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

9 Your love, without hypocrisy,loathing that which is wicked, cleaving to that which is good;

10 In your brotherly love, unto one another, being tenderly affectioned, in honour, unto one another, giving preference;

11 In business, not slothful, in spirit, fervent, to the Lord, doing service,

12 In hope, rejoicing, in tribulation, enduring, in prayer, persevering,

13 With the needs of the saints, having fellowship,hospitality, pursuing.

14 Bless them that persecute, bless, and do not curse.

15 Rejoice with them that rejoice, weep with them that weep:

16 The same thing, one to another regarding,not the lofty things regarding, but, by the lowly, being led along. Be not getting presumptuous in your own opinion:

17 Unto no one, evil for evil rendering: providing honourable things before all men:

18 If possibleso far as dependeth on you, with all men being at peace:

19 Not avenging, yourselves, beloved, but give place unto their anger; for it is writtenMine, is avenging, I, will recompense;saith the Lord;

20 Butif thine enemy hunger, be feeding him, if he thirst, be giving him drink; for, this doing, coals of fire, shalt thou heap upon his head.

21 Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
