1 Levante-se, Jerusalém!

Que o seu rosto brilhe de alegria,

pois já chegou a sua luz!

A glória do Senhor está brilhando sobre você.

2 A terra está coberta de escuridão,

os povos vivem nas trevas,

mas a luz do Senhor está brilhando sobre você;

sobre você aparece a glória de Deus.

3 Atraídos pela sua luz, Jerusalém,

os povos do mundo virão;

o brilho do seu novo dia

fará com que os reis cheguem até você.

4 Jerusalém, olhe em redor e veja o que está acontecendo!

Os seus filhos estão voltando, eles estão chegando!

Os seus filhos vêm de longe,

as suas filhas vêm nos braços das mães.

5 Quando você vir isso, ficará radiante de alegria;

cheio de emoção, o seu coração baterá forte.

Os povos que vivem no outro lado do mar virão,

trazendo todas as suas riquezas para você.

6 Os povos de Midiã e de Efa chegarão

com enormes caravanas de camelos;

virá também o povo de Sabá,

trazendo ouro e incenso.

Todos eles anunciarão as grandes coisas que o Senhor fez.

7 De Quedar e de Nebaiote, virão carneiros

que serão oferecidos no altar de Deus

como sacrifícios que agradam a ele.

O Senhor fará com que o seu lindo Templo

seja mais belo ainda.

8 Que navios são esses que vêm deslizando como nuvens,

como pombas voltando ao pombal?

9 São navios que vêm de longe;

os maiores vêm na frente,

trazendo o povo de Deus de volta para o seu país.

Trazem também prata e ouro

para oferecer ao Senhor, o Santo Deus de Israel,

que deu a vocês, o seu povo, muita glória.

10 O Senhor diz a Jerusalém:

"Estrangeiros reconstruirão as suas muralhas,

e os reis deles trabalharão para você.

Eu estava irado e por isso a castiguei,

mas eu a amo e tenho compaixão de você.

11 Os seus portões ficarão sempre abertos,

não serão fechados nem de dia nem de noite,

para que as nações, guiadas pelos seus reis,

tragam as suas riquezas para você.

12 As nações que não a servirem serão destruídas;

elas serão completamente arrasadas.

13 "Cipreste, pinheiro e zimbro,

que são as melhores madeiras do Líbano,

serão trazidos para você

a fim de tornarem ainda mais belo o meu Templo,

o estrado onde descanso os meus pés.

14 Também virão os filhos dos reis que a exploraram e maltrataram

e se ajoelharão em frente de você;

todos os que a desprezaram virão até você

e encostarão o rosto no chão.

Você será chamada de ‘Cidade do Senhor’,

a ‘Sião do Santo Deus de Israel’.

15 "Nunca mais você será odiada,

nunca mais será uma cidade abandonada, sem moradores;

eu farei com que você seja bela e poderosa,

com que seja para sempre uma cidade alegre.

16 Nações e reis estrangeiros cuidarão de você,

como a mãe que dá de mamar ao filho.

Então você ficará sabendo que eu, o Senhor, sou o seu Salvador,

que eu, o Poderoso Deus de Israel, sou o seu Redentor.

17 "Em vez de bronze, eu trarei ouro para você,

e prata, em vez de ferro;

trarei bronze e ferro, em vez de madeira e pedras.

Farei com que a paz seja o seu rei

e com que a justiça a governe.

18 Nunca mais haverá violência na sua terra;

o seu país não será destruído e arrasado novamente;

você chamará as suas muralhas de ‘Salvação’

e os seus portões de ‘Louvor a Deus’.

19 "Nunca mais o sol a iluminará de dia,

nem a lua, de noite;

pois eu, o Senhor, serei para sempre a sua luz,

e a minha glória brilhará sobre você.

20 Eu serei o seu sol e a sua lua,

um sol que nunca se põe, uma lua que não para de brilhar.

A minha luz brilhará sobre você para sempre,

e os seus dias de luto chegarão ao fim.

21 O seu povo fará o que é direito

e para sempre será dono da Terra Prometida.

Eles são a planta que eu plantei;

com as minhas próprias mãos, eu os fiz

para que eles mostrem a todos a minha grandeza.

22 Este punhado de gente será um povo numeroso;

esta nação, tão pequena, será a mais poderosa de todas.

Eu sou o Senhor

e logo, no tempo certo, farei com que isso aconteça."

1 "Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord is risen on you.2 For, behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise on you, and his glory shall be seen on you.3 Nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.4 "Lift up your eyes all around, and see: they all gather themselves together, they come to you; your sons shall come from far, and your daughters shall be carried in the arms.5 Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart shall thrill and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, the wealth of the nations shall come to you.6 The multitude of camels shall cover you, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come; they shall bring gold and frankincense, and shall proclaim the praises of the Lord.7 All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together to you, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister to you; they shall come up with acceptance on my altar; and I will glorify the house of my glory.8 "Who are these who fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?9 Surely the islands shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring your sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, for the name of the Lord your God, and for the Holy One of Israel, because he has glorified you.10 "Foreigners shall build up your walls, and their kings shall minister to you: for in my wrath I struck you, but in my favor have I had mercy on you.11 Your gates also shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring to you the wealth of the nations, and their kings led captive.12 For that nation and kingdom that will not serve you shall perish; yes, those nations shall be utterly wasted.13 "The glory of Lebanon shall come to you, the fir tree, the pine, and the box tree together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.14 The sons of those who afflicted you shall come bending to you; and all those who despised you shall bow themselves down at the soles of your feet; and they shall call you The city of the Lord, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.15 "Whereas you have been forsaken and hated, so that no man passed through you, I will make you an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.16 You shall also drink the milk of the nations, and shall nurse from royal breasts; and you shall know that I, the Lord, am your Savior, and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.17 For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron. I will also make your officers peace, and righteousness your ruler.18 Violence shall no more be heard in your land, desolation nor destruction within your borders; but you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.19 The sun shall be no more your light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light to you: but the Lord will be to you an everlasting light, and your God your glory.20 Your sun shall no more go down, neither shall your moon withdraw itself; for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended.21 Your people also shall be all righteous; they shall inherit the land forever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.22 The little one shall become a thousand, and the small one a strong nation; I, the Lord, will hasten it in its time."
