1 Meu amigo, não importa quem você seja, você não tem desculpa quando julga os outros. Pois, quando você os julga, mas faz as mesmas coisas que eles fazem, você está condenando a você mesmo. 2 Nós sabemos que Deus é justo quando condena os que fazem essas coisas. 3 Mas você, que faz as mesmas coisas que condena nos outros, será que você pensa que escapará do julgamento de Deus? 4 Ou será que você despreza a grande bondade, a tolerância e a paciência de Deus? Você sabe muito bem que ele é bom e que quer fazer com que você mude de vida. 5 Mas o seu coração é duro e teimoso. Por isso você está aumentando ainda mais o castigo que vai sofrer no dia em que forem revelados a ira e os julgamentos justos de Deus, 6 pois ele recompensará cada um de acordo com o que fez. 7 Deus dará a vida eterna às pessoas que perseveram em fazer o bem e buscam a glória, a honra e a vida imortal. 8 Mas fará cair a sua ira e o seu castigo sobre os egoístas e sobre os que rejeitam o que é justo a fim de seguir o que é mau. 9 Haverá sofrimentos e aflições para todos os que fazem o mal, primeiro para os judeus e também para os não judeus. 10 Mas Deus dará glória, honra e paz a todos os que fazem o bem, primeiro aos judeus e também aos não judeus. 11 Pois ele trata a todos com igualdade.

12 Todos aqueles que pecam sem conhecer a lei de Deus se perderão sem essa lei; mas todos aqueles que pecam conhecendo a lei serão julgados por ela. 13 Porque as pessoas que Deus aceita não são aquelas que somente ouvem a lei, mas aquelas que fazem o que a lei manda. 14 Os não judeus não têm a lei. Mas, quando fazem pela sua própria vontade o que a lei manda, eles são a sua própria lei, embora não tenham a lei. 15 Eles mostram, pela sua maneira de agir, que têm a lei escrita no seu coração. A própria consciência deles mostra que isso é verdade, e os seus pensamentos, que às vezes os acusam e às vezes os defendem, também mostram isso. 16 E, de acordo com o evangelho que eu anuncio, assim será naquele dia em que Deus, por meio de Cristo Jesus, julgará os pensamentos secretos de todas as pessoas.

17 O que dizer de você? Você diz que é judeu, confia na lei e se orgulha do Deus que você adora. 18 Você sabe o que Deus quer que você faça e aprende na lei a escolher o que é certo.

19 Você tem a certeza de que é guia dos cegos, luz para os que estão na escuridão, 20 orientador dos que não têm instrução e professor dos jovens. Você está certo de que encontra na lei a apresentação completa do conhecimento e da verdade. 21 Você, que ensina os outros, por que é que não ensina a você mesmo? Se afirma que não se deve roubar, por que é que você mesmo rouba? 22 Se você diz que não se deve cometer adultério, por que é que você mesmo comete adultério? Você odeia os ídolos, mas rouba as coisas dos templos. 23 Você se orgulha de ter a lei de Deus, mas você é uma vergonha para Deus porque desobedece à sua lei. 24 Pois as Escrituras Sagradas dizem: "Os não judeus falam mal de Deus por causa de vocês, os judeus."

25 A circuncisão tem valor se você, que é judeu, obedecer à lei; porém, se não obedecer, é como se você não tivesse sido circuncidado. 26 E, se um homem que não foi circuncidado obedecer aos mandamentos da lei, Deus o tratará como se ele fosse circuncidado. 27 Assim vocês, judeus, serão condenados pelos não judeus, pois vocês desobedecem à lei apesar de terem essa lei escrita e de serem circuncidados, enquanto que os não judeus obedecem à lei, embora não sejam circuncidados. 28 Portanto, eu pergunto: quem é judeu de fato e circuncidado de verdade? É claro que não é aquele que é judeu somente por fora e circuncidado só no corpo. 29 Pelo contrário, o verdadeiro judeu é aquele que é judeu por dentro, aquele que tem o coração circuncidado; e isso é uma coisa que o Espírito de Deus faz e que a lei escrita não pode fazer. E o louvor que essa pessoa recebe não vem de seres humanos, mas vem de Deus.

1 Wherefore, inexcusable, thou art, O man, whoever judgest; for, wherein thou judgest some one else, thyself, thou dost condemn,for, the very things, thou dost practise, who art judging:

2 We know, however, that, the sentence of God, is according to truth against them who, such things as these, do practise.

3 And reckonest thou this, O manwho dost judge them who such things do practise, and yet art doing the same, that, thou, shalt escape the sentence of God?

4 Or, the riches of his kindness, and forbearance, and long-suffering, dost thou despise,not knowing that, the kindness of God, unto repentance, is leading thee?

5 But, according to thy hardness, and impenitent heart, art treasuring up for thyself anger, in a day of anger and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,

6 Who will render unto each one according to his works:

7 Unto them, on the one hand, who, by way of endurance in good work, are seeking, glory, honour and incorruption, life age-abiding,

8 Unto them, on the other hand, who are of contention, and are not yielding unto the truth, but are yielding unto unrighteousness, anger and wrath,

9 tribulation and anguishagainst every soul of man who worketh out what is base, both of Jew first and of Greek,

10 But glory and honour and peaceunto every one who worketh what is good, both unto Jew first and unto Greek:

11 For there is no respect of persons with God;

12 For, as many as without law sinned, without law, also shall perish, and, as many as within law sinned, through law, shall be judged;

13 For, not the hearers of law, are righteous with God, but, the doers of law, shall be declared righteous;

14 For, whensoever the nations which have not law, by nature, the things of the law, may be doing, the same, not having law, unto themselves, are a law,

15 Who, indeed, shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience therewith bearing witness, and, between one another, their reasonings accusingor, even excusing, them:

16 In the day on which God judgeth the secrets of men according to my glad-message through Christ Jesus.

17 If, however, thou, art taking the name of Jew, and resting thyself upon law, and boasting in God,

18 And art taking note of his will, and testing the things that differwhen receiving oral instruction out of the law,

19 Art persuaded, moreover, that, thou thyself, arta guide of the blind, a light of them that are in darkness,

20 A trainer of the simple, a teacher of babes, having the forming of knowledge and truth in the law,

21 Thou, therefore, that art teaching someone else, thyself, art thou not teaching? Thou that proclaimestDo not steal! Art thou, stealing?

22 That sayestDo not commit adultery! Art thou, committing adultery? That abhorrest sacrilege, Art thou, robbing temples?

23 That in law dost boast, Through the transgression of the law, art thou dishonouring God?

24 For the name of God, because of you, is defamed among the nations,even as it is written.

25 For, circumcision, indeed, profitethif, law, thou be practising; but, if thou be a transgressor of law, thy circumcision, hath become, uncircumcision

26 If then, the uncircumcision, be guarding the righteous requirement of the law, shall not, his uncircumcision, as circumcision be reckoned?

27 And the uncircumcision by nature, completing the law, shall judge, thee, who, notwithstanding letter and circumcision, art a transgressor of law!

28 For, not he who is one in appearance, is a Jew, nor is, that which is such in appearance in flesh, circumcision;

29 But, he who is one in secret, is a Jew,and,
