1 Se o boi ou a ovelha de um israelita se extraviar e você o vir, não ignore o fato, mas faça questão de levar o animal de volta ao dono.2 Se este não morar perto de você ou se você não conhecê-lo, leve o animal para casa e fique com ele até que seu compatriota venha procurá-lo e você possa devolvê-lo.3 Faça o mesmo com o jumento, com a capa e com qualquer coisa perdida que encontrar. Não ignore o fato.4 Se você vir o jumento ou o boi de um israelita caído no caminho, não o ignore. Ajude-o a pôr o animal em pé.5 A mulher não usará roupas de homem, e o homem não usará roupas de mulher, pois o Senhor, o seu Deus, tem aversão por todo aquele que assim procede.6 Se você passar por um ninho de passarinho junto ao caminho, seja numa árvore ou no chão, e a mãe estiver sobre os filhotes ou sobre os ovos, não apanhe a mãe com os filhotes.7 Você poderá apanhar os filhotes, mas deixe a mãe solta, para que tudo vá bem com você e você tenha vida longa.8 Quando algum de vocês construir uma casa nova, faça um parapeito em torno do terraço, para que não traga sobre a sua casa a culpa pelo derramamento de sangue inocente, caso alguém caia do terraço.9 Não plantem dois tipos de semente em sua vinha; se o fizerem, tanto a semente que plantarem como o fruto da vinha estarão contaminados.10 Não arem a terra usando um boi e um jumento sob o mesmo jugo.11 Não usem roupas de lã e de linho misturados no mesmo tecido.12 Façam borlas nas quatro pontas do manto que vocês usam para cobrir-se.13 Se um homem casar-se e, depois de deitar-se com a mulher, rejeitá-la14 e falar mal dela e difamá-la, dizendo: "Casei-me com esta mulher, mas quando me cheguei a ela, descobri que não era mais virgem",15 o pai e a mãe da moça trarão aos líderes da cidade, junto à porta, a prova da sua virgindade.16 Então o pai da moça dirá aos líderes: "Dei a minha filha em casamento a este homem, mas ele a rejeita.17 Ele também a difamou e disse: ‘Descobri que a sua filha não era virgem’. Mas aqui está a prova da virgindade da minha filha". Então os pais dela apresentarão a prova aos líderes da cidade,18 e eles castigarão o homem.19 Aplicarão a ele a multa de cem peças de prata, que serão dados ao pai da moça, pois esse homem prejudicou a reputação de uma virgem israelita. E ele não poderá divorciar-se dela enquanto viver.20 Se, contudo, a acusação for verdadeira e não se encontrar prova de virgindade da moça,21 ela será levada à porta da casa do seu pai e ali os homens da sua cidade a apedrejarão até à morte. Ela cometeu um ato vergonhoso em Israel, prostituindo-se enquanto estava na casa de seu pai. Eliminem o mal do meio de vocês.22 Se um homem for surpreendido deitado com a mulher de outro, os dois terão que morrer, o homem e a mulher com quem se deitou. Eliminem o mal do meio de Israel.23 Se numa cidade um homem se encontrar com uma jovem prometida em casamento e se deitar com ela,24 levem os dois à porta daquela cidade e apedrejem-nos até à morte: a moça porque estava na cidade e não gritou por socorro, e o homem porque desonrou a mulher doutro homem. Eliminem o mal do meio de vocês.25 Se, contudo, um homem encontrar no campo uma jovem prometida em casamento e a forçar, somente o homem morrerá.26 Não façam nada, pois ela não cometeu pecado algum que mereça a morte. Este caso é semelhante ao daquele que ataca e mata o seu próximo,27 pois o homem encontrou a moça virgem no campo, e, ainda que a jovem prometida em casamento gritasse, ninguém poderia socorrê-la.28 Se um homem se encontrar com uma moça sem compromisso de casamento e a violentar, e eles forem descobertos,29 ele pagará ao pai da moça cinqüenta peças de prata. Terá que casar-se com a moça, pois a violentou. Jamais poderá divorciar-se dela.30 Nenhum homem poderá tomar por mulher a mulher do seu pai, pois isso desonraria a cama de seu pai.

1 Thou shall not see thy brother's ox or his sheep go astray, and hide thyself from them. Thou shall surely bring them again to thy brother.2 And if thy brother be not near to thee, or if thou do not know him, then thou shall bring it home to thy house, and it shall be with thee until thy brother seeks after it, and thou shall restore it to him.3 And so shall thou do with his donkey, and so shall thou do with his garment, and so shall thou do with every lost thing of thy brother's, which he has lost, and thou have found. Thou may not hide thyself.4 Thou shall not see thy brother's donkey or his ox fallen down by the way, and hide thyself from them. Thou shall surely help him to lift them up again.5 A woman shall not wear that which pertains to a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment, for whoever does these things is an abomination to LORD thy God.6 If a bird's nest chance to be before thee in the way, in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs, and the dam sitting upon the young or upon the eggs, thou shall not take the dam with the young.7 Thou shall surely let the dam go, but the young thou may take to thyself, that it may be well with thee, and that thou may prolong thy days.8 When thou build a new house, then thou shall make a guard rail for thy roof, that thou not bring blood upon thy house, if any man falls from there.9 Thou shall not sow thy vineyard with two kinds of seed, lest the whole fruit be forfeited: the seed which thou have sown, and the increase of the vineyard.10 Thou shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together.11 Thou shall not wear a mingled stuff, wool and linen together.12 Thou shall make for thee fringes upon the four borders of thy clothing, with which thou cover thyself.13 If any man takes a wife, and goes in to her, and dislikes her,14 and charges her with shameful things, and brings up an evil name upon her, and says, I took this woman, and when I came near to her, I did not find in her the tokens of virginity,15 then the father of the damsel, and her mother, shall take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity to the elders of the city in the gate.16 And the damsel's father shall say to the elders, I gave my daughter to this man to wife, and he dislikes her.17 And, lo, he has charged her with shameful things, saying, I did not find in thy daughter the tokens of virginity, and yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the garment before the elders of the c18 And the elders of that city shall take the man and chastise him,19 and they shall fine him a hundred [shekels] of silver, and give them to the father of the damsel, because he has brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel, and she shall be his wife. He may not put her away all his days.20 But if this thing be true, that the tokens of virginity were not found in the damsel,21 then they shall bring the damsel out to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones, because she has wrought folly in Israel, to play the harlot in her father's house. So shall thou22 If a man be found laying with a woman married to a husband, then they shall both of them die, the man that lay with the woman, and the woman. So shall thou put away the evil from Israel.23 If there be a damsel who is a virgin betrothed to a husband, and a man finds her in the city, and lays with her,24 then ye shall bring them both out to the gate of that city. And ye shall stone them to death with stones, the damsel, because she did not cry out, being in the city, and the man, because he has humbled his neighbor's wife. So thou25 But if the man finds the damsel who is betrothed in the field, and the man forces her, and lays with her, then only the man who lay with her shall die,26 but to the damsel thou shall do nothing. There is in the damsel no sin worthy of death. For as when a man rises against his neighbor, and kills him, even so is this matter,27 for he found her in the field, the betrothed damsel cried out, and there was none to save her.28 If a man finds a damsel who is a virgin, who is not betrothed, and lays hold on her, and lays with her, and they be found,29 then the man who lay with her shall give to the damsel's father fifty [shekels] of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he has humbled her. He may not put her away all his days.30 A man shall not take his father's wife, and shall not uncover his father's skirt.
