1 O coração do rei é como um rio controlado pelo Senhor; ele o dirige para onde quer.2 Todos os caminhos do homem lhe parecem justos, mas o Senhor pesa o coração.3 Fazer o que é justo e certo é mais aceitável ao Senhor do que oferecer sacrifícios.4 A vida de pecado dos ímpios se vê no olhar orgulhoso e no coração arrogante,5 Os planos bem elaborados levam à fartura; mas o apressado sempre acaba na miséria.6 A fortuna obtida com língua mentirosa é ilusão fugidia e armadilha mortal.7 A violência dos ímpios os arrastará, pois recusam-se a agir corretamente.8 O caminho do culpado é tortuoso, mas a conduta do inocente é reta.9 Melhor é viver num canto sob o telhado do que repartir a casa com uma mulher briguenta.10 O desejo do perverso é fazer o mal; ele não tem dó do próximo.11 Quando o zombador é castigado, o inexperiente obtém sabedoria; quando o sábio recebe instrução, obtém conhecimento.12 O justo observa a casa dos ímpios e os faz cair na desgraça.13 Quem fecha os ouvidos ao clamor dos pobres também clamará e não terá resposta.14 O presente que se faz em segredo acalma a ira, e o suborno oferecido às ocultas apazigua a maior fúria.15 Quando se faz justiça, o justo se alegra, mas os malfeitores se apavoram.16 Quem se afasta do caminho da sensatez repousará na companhia dos mortos.17 Quem se entrega aos prazeres passará necessidade; quem se apega ao vinho e ao azeite jamais será rico.18 O ímpio serve de resgate para o justo, e o infiel, para o homem íntegro.19 Melhor é viver no deserto do que com uma mulher briguenta e amargurada.20 Na casa do sábio há comida e azeite armazenados, mas o tolo devora tudo o que pode.21 Quem segue a justiça e a lealdade encontra vida, justiça e honra.22 O sábio conquista a cidade dos valentes e derruba a fortaleza em que eles confiam.23 Quem é cuidadoso no que fala evita muito sofrimento.24 O vaidoso e arrogante, chama-se zombador; ele age com extremo orgulho.25 O preguiçoso morre de tanto desejar e de nunca pôr as mãos no trabalho.26 O dia inteiro ele deseja mais e mais, enquanto o justo reparte sem cessar.27 O sacrifício dos ímpios já por si é detestável; quanto mais quando oferecido com más intenções.28 A testemunha falsa perecerá, mas o testemunho do homem bem informado permanecerá.29 O ímpio mostra no rosto a sua arrogância, mas o justo mantém em ordem o seu caminho.30 Não há sabedoria alguma, nem discernimento algum, nem plano algum que possa opor-se ao Senhor.31 Prepara-se o cavalo para o dia da batalha, mas o Senhor é que dá a vitória.

1 The king's heart is in the hand of LORD as the watercourses. He turns it wherever he will.2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but LORD weighs the hearts.3 To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to LORD than sacrifice.4 A high look, and a proud heart, [even] the lamp of the wicked, is sin.5 The thoughts of a diligent man [lead] only to abundance, but everyone who is hasty, only to want.6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vapor driven to and fro by those who seek death.7 The violence of the wicked shall sweep them away, because they refuse to do justice.8 The way of him who is laden with guilt is exceedingly crooked, but as for a pure man, his work is right.9 It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a contentious woman in a wide house.10 The soul of a wicked man desires evil. His neighbor finds no favor in his eyes.11 When a scoffer is punished, a simple man is made wise, and when a wise man is instructed, he receives knowledge.12 A righteous man considers the house of the wicked: the wicked are overthrown to ruin.13 He who stops his ears at the cry of a poor man, he also shall cry, but shall not be heard.14 A gift in secret pacifies anger, and a present in the bosom, strong wrath.15 It is joy to the righteous to do justice, but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.16 The man who wanders out of the way of understanding shall rest in the assembly of the dead.17 He who loves pleasure shall be a poor man. He who loves wine and oil shall not be rich.18 A wicked man is a ransom for a righteous man, and the treacherous dealer for the upright.19 It is better to dwell in a desert land, than with a contentious and fretful woman.20 There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of a wise man, but a foolish man swallows it up.21 He who follows after righteousness and kindness finds life, righteousness, and honor.22 A wise man scales the city of the mighty, and brings down the strength of the confidence of it.23 He who keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from troubles.24 The proud and haughty man, scoffer is his name. He works in the arrogance of pride.25 The desire of the sluggard kills him, for his hands refuse to labor.26 There is he who covets greedily all the day long, but the righteous gives and does not withhold.27 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination. How much more when he brings it with a wicked mind!28 A FALSE witness shall perish, but the man who hears shall speak so as to endure.29 A wicked man hardens his face, but as for an upright man, he establishes his ways.30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against LORD.31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle, but victory is from LORD.
