Zacarias 12

A destruição dos inimigos de Jerusalém

1 Uma advertência: a palavra do Senhor para Israel.

Assim declara o Senhor que estende o céu, assenta o alicerce da terra e forma o espírito do homem dentro dele:

2 — Farei de Jerusalém uma taça que embriague todos os povos ao seu redor, todos os que estarão no cerco contra Judá e contra Jerusalém. 3 Naquele dia, quando todas as nações da terra estiverem reunidas para atacá-la, farei de Jerusalém uma pedra pesada para todas as nações. Todos os que tentarem levantá-la se machucarão muito. 4 Naquele dia, porei em pânico todos os cavalos e deixarei loucos os seus cavaleiros — declara o Senhor. — Eu me manterei vigilante sobre o povo de Judá, mas cegarei todos os cavalos das nações. 5 Então, os chefes de Judá pensarão: "Os habitantes de Jerusalém são fortes*12.5 Hebraico: são uma força para mim. porque o Senhor dos Exércitos é o seu Deus!".

6 — Naquele dia, farei que os chefes de Judá sejam semelhantes a um braseiro no meio de um monte de lenha, como uma tocha incandescente entre gravetos. Eles consumirão à direita e à esquerda todos os povos ao redor, mas Jerusalém permanecerá intacta no seu lugar.

7 — O Senhor salvará primeiro as tendas de Judá, para que a honra da família de Davi e dos habitantes de Jerusalém não seja superior à de Judá. 8 Naquele dia, o Senhor protegerá os que vivem em Jerusalém. Assim, o mais fraco deles será como Davi, e a família de Davi será como Deus, como o anjo do Senhor que vai adiante deles.

Arrependimento dos habitantes de Jerusalém

9 — Naquele dia, procurarei destruir todas as nações que atacarem Jerusalém. 10 E derramarei sobre a família de Davi e os habitantes de Jerusalém um espírito*12.10 Ou o Espírito. de graça e de súplicas. Olharão para mim, aquele a quem traspassaram, e chorarão por ele como quem chora a perda de um filho único e se lamentarão amargamente por ele como quem lamenta a perda do primogênito. 11 Naquele dia, muitos chorarão em Jerusalém, como os que choraram em Hadade-Rimom, no vale de Megido. 12 Todo o país chorará, cada família à parte, com as suas mulheres chorará: a família de Davi com as suas mulheres, a família de Natã com as suas mulheres, 13 a família de Levi com as suas mulheres, a família de Simei com as suas mulheres, 14 e as demais famílias com as suas mulheres.

1 The burden of the word of Jehovah concerning Israel.

Thus saith Jehovah, who stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him: 2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of reeling unto all the peoples round about, and upon Judah also shall it be in the siege against Jerusalem. 3 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all the peoples; all that burden themselves with it shall be sore wounded; and all the nations of the earth shall be gathered together against it. 4 In that day, saith Jehovah, I will smite every horse with terror, and his rider with madness; and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the peoples with blindness. 5 And the chieftains of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem are my strength in Jehovah of hosts their God. 6 In that day will I make the chieftains of Judah like a pan of fire among wood, and like a flaming torch among sheaves; and they shall devour all the peoples round about, on the right hand and on the left; and they of Jerusalem shall yet again dwell in their own place, even in Jerusalem. 7 Jehovah also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem be not magnified above Judah. 8 In that day shall Jehovah defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of Jehovah before them. 9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication; and they shall look unto me whom they have pierced; and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his first-born. 11 In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon. 12 And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart; 13 the family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart; the family of the Shimeites apart, and their wives apart; 14 all the families that remain, every family apart, and their wives apart.
