1 Como cooperadores de Deus, insistimos com vocês para não receberem em vão a graça de Deus.2 Pois ele diz: "Eu o ouvi no tempo favorável e o socorri no dia da salvação". Digo-lhes que agora é o tempo favorável, agora é o dia da salvação!3 Não damos motivo de escândalo a ninguém, em circunstância alguma, para que o nosso ministério não caia em descrédito.4 Pelo contrário, como servos de Deus, recomendamo-nos de todas as formas: em muita perseverança; em sofrimentos, privações e tristezas;5 em açoites, prisões e tumultos; em trabalhos árduos, noites sem dormir e jejuns;6 em pureza, conhecimento, paciência e bondade; no Espírito Santo e no amor sincero;7 na palavra da verdade e no poder de Deus; com as armas da justiça, quer de ataque, quer de defesa;8 por honra e por desonra; por difamação e por boa fama; tidos por enganadores, sendo verdadeiros;9 como desconhecidos, apesar de bem conhecidos; como morrendo, mas eis que vivemos; espancados, mas não mortos;10 entristecidos, mas sempre alegres; pobres, mas enriquecendo a muitos; nada tendo, mas possuindo tudo.11 Falamos abertamente a vocês, coríntios, e lhes abrimos todo o nosso coração!12 Não lhes estamos limitando nosso afeto, mas vocês nos estão limitando o afeto que têm por nós.13 Numa justa compensação, falo como a meus filhos, abram também o coração para nós!14 Não se ponham em jugo desigual com descrentes. Pois o que têm em comum a justiça e a maldade? Ou que comunhão pode ter a luz com as trevas?15 Que harmonia entre Cristo e Belial? Que há de comum entre o crente e o descrente?16 Que acordo há entre o templo de Deus e os ídolos? Pois somos santuário do Deus vivo. Como disse Deus: "Habitarei com eles e entre eles andarei; serei o seu Deus, e eles serão o meu povo".17 Portanto, "saiam do meio deles e separem-se", diz o Senhor. "Não toquem em coisas impuras, e eu os receberei"18 "e lhes serei Pai, e vocês serão meus filhos e minhas filhas", diz o Senhor Todo-poderoso.

1 Working together with him we plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain to no purposein emptiness.2 For he said: At an acceptable time I listened to you. Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation!3 Give no occasion for stumbling offence in anything that our ministry may not be blamed discredited.4 In everything we commend ourselves, as ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,5 in beatings, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in watching, in fasting;6 in pureness, in knowledge, in long-suffering, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in genuine love,7 in the word of truth, in the power of God; by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,8 by honor and dishonor, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true;9 as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;10 Also as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.11 O Corinthians, we have spoken openly to you, our figurative heart is wide open enlarged.12 We do not restrict you, but you are restricted by your own affections.13 Now in return for the same in like kind I speak as to my children, you also be open open your hearts wide!14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers: for what fellowship does righteousness have with lawlessness? Or what communion does light have with darkness?15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?16 And what agreement does a temple of God have with idols? We are the temple of the living God. God said: I will dwell in them, and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they will be my people.
