1 Paulo, apóstolo de Cristo Jesus pela vontade de Deus, aos santos e fiéis em Cristo Jesus que estão em Éfeso:2 A vocês, graça e paz da parte de Deus nosso Pai e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.3 Bendito seja o Deus e Pai de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, que nos abençoou com todas as bênçãos espirituais nas regiões celestiais em Cristo.4 Porque Deus nos escolheu nele antes da criação do mundo, para sermos santos e irrepreensíveis em sua presença.5 Em amor nos predestinou para sermos adotados como filhos por meio de Jesus Cristo, conforme o bom propósito da sua vontade,6 para o louvor da sua gloriosa graça, a qual nos deu gratuitamente no Amado.7 Nele temos a redenção por meio de seu sangue, o perdão dos pecados, de acordo com as riquezas da graça de Deus,8 a qual ele derramou sobre nós com toda a sabedoria e entendimento.9 E nos revelou o mistério da sua vontade, de acordo com o seu bom propósito que ele estabeleceu em Cristo,10 isto é, de fazer convergir em Cristo todas as coisas, celestiais ou terrenas, na dispensação da plenitude dos tempos.11 Nele fomos também escolhidos, tendo sido predestinados conforme o plano daquele que faz todas as coisas segundo o propósito da sua vontade,12 a fim de que nós, os que primeiro esperamos em Cristo, sejamos para o louvor da sua glória.13 Nele, quando vocês ouviram e creram na palavra da verdade, o evangelho que os salvou, vocês foram selados com o Espírito Santo da promessa,14 que é a garantia da nossa herança até a redenção daqueles que pertencem a Deus, para o louvor da sua glória.15 Por essa razão, desde que ouvi falar da fé que vocês têm no Senhor Jesus e do amor que demonstram para com todos os santos,16 não deixo de dar graças por vocês, mencionando-os em minhas orações.17 Peço que o Deus de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, o glorioso Pai, lhes dê espírito de sabedoria e de revelação, no pleno conhecimento dele.18 Oro também para que os olhos do coração de vocês sejam iluminados, a fim de que vocês conheçam a esperança para a qual ele os chamou, as riquezas da gloriosa herança dele nos santos19 e a incomparável grandeza do seu poder para conosco, os que cremos, conforme a atuação da sua poderosa força.20 Esse poder ele exerceu em Cristo, ressuscitando-o dos mortos e fazendo-o assentar-se à sua direita, nas regiões celestiais,21 muito acima de todo governo e autoridade, poder e domínio, e de todo nome que se possa mencionar, não apenas nesta era, mas também na que há de vir.22 Deus colocou todas as coisas debaixo de seus pés e o designou como cabeça de todas as coisas para a igreja,23 que é o seu corpo, a plenitude daquele que enche todas as coisas, em toda e qualquer circunstância.

1 Paul, an Apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God: To God's people who are in Ephesus–believers in Christ Jesus.2 May grace and peace be granted to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has crowned us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ;4 even as, in His love, He chose us as His own in Christ before the creation of the world, that we might be holy and without blemish in His presence.5 For He pre-destined us to be adopted by Himself as sons through Jesus Christ –such being His gracious will and pleasure–6 to the praise of the splendour of His grace with which He has enriched us in the beloved One.7 It is in Him, and through the shedding of His blood, that we have our deliverance –the forgiveness of our offences– so abundant was God's grace,8 the grace which He, the possessor of all wisdom and understanding, lavished upon us,9 when He made known to us the secret of His will. And this is in harmony with God's merciful purpose10 for the government of the world when the times are ripe for it–the purpose which He has cherished in His own mind of restoring the whole creation to find its one Head in Christ; yes, things in Heaven and things on earth, to find their one Head in Him.11 In Him we Jews have been made heirs, having been chosen beforehand in accordance with the intention of Him whose might carries out in everything the design of His own will,12 so that we should be devoted to the extolling of His glorious attributes–we who were the first to fix our hopes on Christ.13 And in Him you Gentiles also, after listening to the Message of the truth, the Good News of your salvation –having believed in Him– were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit;14 that Spirit being a pledge and foretaste of our inheritance, in anticipation of its full redemption–the inheritance which He has purchased to be specially His for the extolling of His glory.15 For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which prevails among you, and of your love for all God's people,16 offer never ceasing thanks on your behalf while I make mention of you in my prayers.17 For I always beseech the God of our Lord Jesus Christ –the Father most glorious– to give you a spirit of wisdom and penetration through an intimate knowledge of Him,18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened so that you may know what is the hope which His call to you inspires, what the wealth of the glory of His inheritance in God's people,19 and what the transcendent greatness of His power in us believers as seen in the working of His infinite might20 when He displayed it in Christ by raising Him from the dead and seating Him at His own right hand in the heavenly realms,21 high above all other government and authority and power and dominion, and every title of sovereignty used either in this Age or in the Age to come.22 God has put all things under His feet, and has appointed Him universal and supreme Head of the Church, which is His Body,23 the completeness of Him who everywhere fills the universe with Himself.
