1 Irmãos, na primeira vez que estive com vocês, não usei palavras eloquentes nem sabedoria humana para lhes apresentar o plano secreto de Deus. 2 Pois decidi que, enquanto estivesse com vocês, me esqueceria de tudo exceto de Jesus Cristo, aquele que foi crucificado. 3 Fui até vocês em fraqueza, atemorizado e trêmulo. 4 Minha mensagem e minha pregação foram muito simples. Em vez de usar argumentos persuasivos e astutos, me firmei no poder do Espírito. 5 Agi desse modo para que vocês não se apoiassem em sabedoria humana, mas no poder de Deus.

6 No entanto, quando estamos entre pessoas maduras, falamos com palavras de sabedoria, mas não com o tipo de sabedoria desta era ou de seus governantes, que logo caem no esquecimento. 7 Pelo contrário, a sabedoria a que nos referimos é o mistério de Deus, seu plano antes secreto e oculto, embora ele o tenha elaborado para nossa glória antes do começo do mundo. 8 Os governantes desta era, por sua vez, não a entenderam, pois se a houvessem entendido não teriam crucificado o Senhor da glória. 9 É a isso que as Escrituras se referem quando dizem:

"Olho nenhum viu, ouvido nenhum ouviu,

e mente nenhuma imaginou

o que Deus preparou

para aqueles que o amam".

10 Mas foi a nós que Deus revelou estas coisas por seu Espírito. Pois o Espírito sonda todas as coisas, até os segredos mais profundos de Deus. 11 Pois quem conhece os pensamentos de uma pessoa, senão o próprio espírito dela? Da mesma forma, ninguém conhece os pensamentos de Deus, senão o Espírito de Deus. 12 E nós recebemos o Espírito de Deus, e não o espírito deste mundo, para que conheçamos as coisas maravilhosas que Deus nos tem dado gratuitamente.

13 Quando lhes dizemos isso, não empregamos palavras vindas da sabedoria humana, mas palavras que nos foram ensinadas pelo Espírito, explicando verdades espirituais a pessoas espirituais. 14 Mas o homem natural não aceita as verdades do Espírito de Deus. Elas lhe parecem loucura, e ele não consegue entendê-las, pois apenas quem é espiritual consegue avaliar corretamente o que diz o Espírito. 15 Quem é espiritual pode avaliar todas as coisas, mas ele próprio não pode ser avaliado por outros. 16 Pois,

"Quem conhece os pensamentos do Senhor?

Quem sabe o suficiente para instruí-lo?".

Mas nós temos a mente de Cristo.

1 And I, brothers, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom, announcing to you the testimony of God.2 For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.3 And I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.4 And my message and my preaching [were] not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,5 in order that your faith might not be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.6 However, we speak wisdom among those that are mature, but not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are being destroyed.7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the [wisdom] having been hidden, which God foreordained before the ages for our glory,8 which none of the rulers of this age understood (for had they understood, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory).9 But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him."10 But God has revealed [them] to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.11 For who among men knows the things of a man, except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.12 Now we did not receive the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, in order that we might know the things freely given to us by God;13 which things we also speak, not in words taught in human wisdom, but in words taught by the Holy Spirit, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.15 But he that is spiritual discerns all things, yet he himself is discerned by no man.16 For "Who has known the mind of the LORD, that he may instruct Him?"But we have the mind of Christ.
