1 "Filho do homem, profetize contra Gogue. Transmita-lhe esta mensagem do Senhor Soberano: Sou seu inimigo, ó Gogue, príncipe que governa as nações de Meseque e Tubal. 2 Eu o farei dar a volta e o trarei do extremo norte, e o conduzirei em direção aos montes de Israel. 3 Derrubarei o arco de sua mão esquerda e as flechas de sua mão direita. 4 Você, seu exército e seus aliados morrerão nos montes. Eu os darei como alimento aos abutres e aos animais selvagens. 5 Você cairá em campos abertos, pois eu falei, diz o Senhor Soberano. 6 Enviarei fogo sobre Magogue e sobre todos os seus aliados que vivem em segurança no litoral. Então eles saberão que eu sou o Senhor.

7 "Assim, farei conhecido meu santo nome no meio de meu povo, Israel. Não deixarei que ninguém desonre meu nome. E as nações também saberão que eu sou o Senhor, o Santo de Israel. 8 Esse dia de julgamento virá, diz o Senhor Soberano. Tudo acontecerá como eu declarei.

9 "Então os habitantes das cidades de Israel sairão e recolherão seus escudos pequenos e os grandes, seus arcos e flechas, seus dardos e lanças e os usarão como lenha. Haverá o suficiente para sete anos! 10 Não precisarão cortar lenha dos campos nem dos bosques, pois essas armas fornecerão todo o combustível necessário. Eles saquearão aqueles que os saquearam e despojarão aqueles que os despojaram, diz o Senhor Soberano.

11 "Nesse dia, prepararei um enorme cemitério para Gogue e suas multidões no vale dos Viajantes, a leste do mar Morto.*39.11 Em hebraico, do mar. Ele impedirá a passagem dos que viajam por ali, e eles mudarão o nome do lugar para vale das Multidões de Gogue. 12 O povo de Israel levará sete meses para sepultar os corpos e purificar a terra. 13 Todos em Israel ajudarão a sepultar, pois esse dia em que eu mostrar minha glória será uma data memorável para Israel, diz o Senhor Soberano.

14 "Depois de sete meses, grupos de homens serão nomeados para percorrer a terra em busca de esqueletos para sepultar, a fim de que a terra seja purificada. 15 Onde forem encontrados ossos, será colocado um sinal para que os coveiros os levem e os enterrem no vale das Multidões de Gogue. 16 (Haverá ali uma cidade chamada Hamoná.*39.16 Hamoná significa "multidão".) E com isso, enfim, a terra será purificada.

17 "Agora, filho do homem, assim diz o Senhor Soberano: Chame todas as aves e todos os animais selvagens e diga-lhes: Reúnam-se para meu grande banquete sacrificial. Venham, de longe e de perto, para os montes de Israel e ali comam carne e bebam sangue! 18 Comam a carne de homens poderosos e bebam o sangue dos príncipes das nações como se fossem carneiros, cordeiros, bodes e touros, todos animais engordados de Basã. 19 Devorem carne até se empanturrar e bebam sangue até se embriagar. Este é o banquete sacrificial que lhes preparei. 20 Comam com fartura à minha mesa; comam cavalos, condutores de carros de guerra, homens valentes e guerreiros de toda espécie, diz o Senhor Soberano.

21 "Desse modo, mostrarei minha glória às nações. Todos verão o castigo que trouxe sobre eles e o poder de minha mão quando eu castigo. 22 E, daquele dia em diante, o povo de Israel saberá que sou o Senhor, seu Deus. 23 As nações saberão por que Israel foi enviado para o exílio: foi como castigo por causa do pecado, pois foram infiéis a seu Deus. Por isso me afastei deles e os entreguei a seus inimigos, para que os destruíssem. 24 Escondi deles o rosto e os castiguei por causa de sua impureza e de seus pecados."

25 "Portanto, assim diz o Senhor Soberano: Acabarei com o exílio de meu povo;*39.25 Em hebraico, de Jacó. terei compaixão de todo o Israel, pois tenho zelo por meu santo nome. 26 Quando voltarem para sua terra e viverem em segurança, sem que ninguém lhes cause medo, assumirão a responsabilidade por*39.26 Alguns manuscritos hebraicos trazem eles se esquecerão de. sua vergonha e infidelidade no passado. 27 Quando eu os trouxer de volta das terras de seus inimigos, mostrarei minha santidade no meio deles, para que todas as nações a vejam. 28 Então meu povo saberá que eu sou o Senhor, seu Deus, pois os enviei para o exílio entre as nações e os trouxe de volta para sua terra. Não deixarei nenhum deles para trás 29 e nunca mais me afastarei deles, pois derramarei meu Espírito sobre o povo de Israel. Eu, o Senhor Soberano, falei!".

8 Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day whereof I have spoken. 9 And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years:*39.9 handstaves: or, javelins*39.9 burn them…: or, make a fire of them 10 So that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire: and they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord GOD.

11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamon-gog.*39.11 noses: or, mouths*39.11 Hamon-gog: that is, The multitude of Gog 12 And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land. 13 Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified, saith the Lord GOD. 14 And they shall sever out men of continual employment, passing through the land to bury with the passengers those that remain upon the face of the earth, to cleanse it: after the end of seven months shall they search.*39.14 men…: Heb. men of continuance 15 And the passengers that pass through the land, when any seeth a man’s bone, then shall he set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the valley of Hamon-gog.*39.15 set up: Heb. build 16 And also the name of the city shall be Hamonah. 17 And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood.*39.17 unto…: Heb. to the fowl of every wing*39.17 my sacrifice: or, my slaughter 18 Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan.*39.18 goats: Heb. great goats 19 And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you. 20 Thus ye shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord GOD. 21 And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them. 22 So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day and forward.

23 And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword. 24 According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I done unto them, and hid my face from them. 25 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name; 26 After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made them afraid. 27 When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations; 28 Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.*39.28 which…: Heb. by my causing of them, etc 29 Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.
