1 Ó Pastor de Israel,

inclina os teus ouvidos à minha súplica,

tu que guias o teu povo como um rebanho,

tu que habitas entre os querubins,

mostra o teu poder, faz brilhar a tua glória.

2 Revela todo o poder que tens para salvar

diante de todos os que são teus,

diante de Efraim, de Benjamim e de Manassés.

3 Faz-nos voltar de novo para ti, ó Deus!

Faz resplandecer a tua face sobre nós e seremos salvos!

4 Ó Senhor, Deus dos exércitos,

continuarás indignado, rejeitando a oração do teu povo?

5 Tens-nos sustentado com abundância de tristeza e lágrimas.

6 Transformaste-nos num objeto de desprezo para os nossos vizinhos;

os nossos inimigos riem de nós, entre si.

7 Faz-nos voltar de novo para ti, ó Deus dos exércitos!

Faz resplandecer a tua face sobre nós e seremos salvos!

8 Trouxeste-nos do Egito

como se fôssemos uma delicada planta de videira;

tiraste da terra os povos pagãos para nos plantares.

9 Limpaste o terreno e preparaste o solo;

criámos raízes e enchemos a terra.

10 Os montes cobriram-se com a sombra das nossas habitações;

a nossa força cresceu como ramos de cedros gigantes.

11 Estendemo-nos desde o grande rio;

do Eufrates até ao mar.

12 Porque deixastes que os nossos muros fossem derrubados?

Toda a gente que passa pelos nossos campos tira o que quer.

13 O javali e todos os animais selvagens

nos devoram e nos devastam.

14 Ó Deus dos exércitos, volta-te para nós!

Olha dos céus, vê a nossa aflição e visita esta vinha.

15 Sim, protege esta videira que tu próprio plantaste,

que regaste e criaste.

16 Fomos queimados e cortados pelos nossos inimigos.

Que eles pereçam pela tua desaprovação!

17 Seja a tua mão sobre o homem da tua destra,

sobre o filho do homem que fortaleceste para ti!

18 E nunca mais te abandonaremos;

Guarda a nossa vida e invocaremos o teu nome.

5 Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.

6 Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.

7 Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

8 Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.

9 Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.

12 Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?

14 Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;

15 And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.

16 It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.

17 Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.

18 So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.

19 Turn us again, O LORD God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
