1 If there be, therefore, any encouragement in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of spirit, if any tender affections and compassions,2 Fill ye up my joythat, the same thing, ye esteem, the same love, possessing, joined in soul, the one thing, esteeming,3 Nothing by way of faction, nothing by way of vain-glory,but, in lowliness of mind, accounting, one another, superior to yourselves,4 Not, to your own things, severally looking, but, to the things of others, severally:5 The same thing, esteem, in yourselves, which also, in Christ Jesus, ,6 Who, in form of God, subsisting, not, a thing to be seized, accounted the being equal with God,7 But, himself, emptied, taking, a servants form, coming to be, in mens likeness;8 And, in fashion, being found, as a man, humbled himself, becoming obedient as far as death, yea, death upon a cross.9 Wherefore also, God, uplifted him far on high, and favoured him with the name which is above every name,10 In order that, in the name of Jesus, every knee might bowof beings in heaven, and on earth, and underground,11 And, every tongue, might openly confessthat Jesus Christ is, Lord, unto the glory of God the Father.12 So, then, my belovedeven as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but, now, much more, in my absence, with fear and trembling, your own salvation, be working out;13 For it is, God, who energiseth within you, both the desiring and the energising, in behalf of his good pleasure.14 All things, be doing, apart from murmurings and disputings;15 In order that ye may become faultless and inviolate, children of God, blameless amidst a crooked and perverted generation, amongst whom ye appear as luminaries in the world,16 A word of light, holding forth,as a matter of boasting unto me, for the day of Christ,that, not in vain, I ran, nor, in vain, I toiled:17 Nay! if I am even to be poured out as a drink-offering, upon the sacrifice and public ministry of your faith, I rejoice, yea rejoice together with you all,18 For the same cause, moreover, do, ye also, rejoice, yea rejoice together with me.19 I am hoping, however, in the Lord JesusTimothy, shortly, to send unto you, in order that, I also, may be of cheerful soul, when I have ascertained the things that concern you.20 For, no one, have I, of equal soul, who, genuinely, as to the things that concern you, will be anxious;21 For, they all, their own things, do seek, not the things of Christ Jesus;22 But, of the proof of him, be taking note,that, as child, with father, with me, hath he done service for the glad-message;23 Him, indeed, therefore, am I hoping to sendas soon as I can look off from the things that concern myself,forthwith.24 I am assured, however, in the Lord,that I, myself, shall shortly come.25 Needful, nevertheless have I accounted itEpaphroditus, my brother and fellow worker and fellow soldier, but your apostle and public minister to my need, to send unto you;26 Since he hath been longing to see, you all, and hath been in great distress, because ye had heard he was sick;27 And, in fact, he was sick, nigh unto death; but, God, had mercy on him,and, not on him only, but, on me also, lest, sorrow upon sorrow, I should have.28 The more promptly, therefore, have I sent him, that, seeing him again, ye may rejoice, and, I, the less sorrowful, may be.29 Be giving him welcome, therefore, in the Lord, with all joy; and, such as he, in honour, be holding,30 Because, for the sake of the work of the Lord, unto death, he drew nigh, running hazard with his life, that he might fill up your lack of the public service, towards me.

1 Portanto, se há algum conforto em Cristo, se alguma consolação de amor, se alguma comunhão no Espírito, se alguns entranháveis afetos e compaixões, 2 completai o meu gozo, para que sintais o mesmo, tendo o mesmo amor, o mesmo ânimo, sentindo uma mesma coisa. 3 Nada façais por contenda ou por vanglória, mas por humildade; cada um considere os outros superiores a si mesmo. 4 Não atente cada um para o que é propriamente seu, mas cada qual também para o que é dos outros.

5 De sorte que haja em vós o mesmo sentimento que houve também em Cristo Jesus, 6 que, sendo em forma de Deus, não teve por usurpação ser igual a Deus. 7 Mas aniquilou-se a si mesmo, tomando a forma de servo, fazendo-se semelhante aos homens; 8 e, achado na forma de homem, humilhou-se a si mesmo, sendo obediente até à morte e morte de cruz. 9 Pelo que também Deus o exaltou soberanamente e lhe deu um nome que é sobre todo o nome, 10 para que ao nome de Jesus se dobre todo joelho dos que estão nos céus, e na terra, e debaixo da terra, 11 e toda língua confesse que Jesus Cristo é o Senhor, para glória de Deus Pai.

12 De sorte que, meus amados, assim como sempre obedecestes, não só na minha presença, mas muito mais agora na minha ausência, assim também operai a vossa salvação com temor e tremor; 13 porque Deus é o que opera em vós tanto o querer como o efetuar, segundo a sua boa vontade. 14 Fazei todas as coisas sem murmurações nem contendas; 15 para que sejais irrepreensíveis e sinceros, filhos de Deus inculpáveis no meio duma geração corrompida e perversa, entre a qual resplandeceis como astros no mundo; 16 retendo a palavra da vida, para que, no Dia de Cristo, possa gloriar-me de não ter corrido nem trabalhado em vão. 17 E, ainda que seja oferecido por libação sobre o sacrifício e serviço da vossa fé, folgo e me regozijo com todos vós. 18 E vós também regozijai-vos e alegrai-vos comigo por isto mesmo.

19 E espero, no Senhor Jesus, que em breve vos mandarei Timóteo, para que também eu esteja de bom ânimo, sabendo dos vossos negócios. 20 Porque a ninguém tenho de igual sentimento, que sinceramente cuide do vosso estado; 21 porque todos buscam o que é seu e não o que é de Cristo Jesus. 22 Mas bem sabeis qual a sua experiência, e que serviu comigo no evangelho, como filho ao pai. 23 De sorte que espero enviá-lo a vós logo que tenha provido a meus negócios. 24 Mas confio no Senhor que também eu mesmo, em breve, irei ter convosco. 25 Julguei, contudo, necessário mandar-vos Epafrodito, meu irmão, e cooperador, e companheiro nos combates, e vosso enviado para prover às minhas necessidades; 26 porquanto tinha muitas saudades de vós todos e estava muito angustiado de que tivésseis ouvido que ele estivera doente. 27 E, de fato, esteve doente e quase à morte, mas Deus se apiedou dele e não somente dele, mas também de mim, para que eu não tivesse tristeza sobre tristeza. 28 Por isso, vo-lo enviei mais depressa, para que, vendo-o outra vez, vos regozijeis, e eu tenha menos tristeza. 29 Recebei-o, pois, no Senhor, com todo o gozo, e tende-o em honra: 30 porque, pela obra de Cristo, chegou até bem próximo da morte, não fazendo caso da vida, para suprir para comigo a falta do vosso serviço.
