And he said unto them, 'Observe, and beware of the covetousness, because not in the abundance of one's goods is his life.'
for what shall it profit a man, if he may gain the whole world, and forfeit his life?
Who is wise and intelligent among you? let him show out of the good behaviour his works in meekness of wisdom,
25 'Because of this I say to you, be not anxious for your life, what you may eat, and what you may drink, nor for your body, what you may put on. Is not the life more than the nourishment, and the body than the clothing?
26 Look to the fowls of the heaven, for they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather into storehouses, and your heavenly Father does nourish them; are not you much better than they?
27 'And who of you, being anxious, is able to add to his age one cubit?
he who is believing in me, according as the Writing said, Rivers out of his belly shall flow of living water;'
for 'he who is willing to love life, and to see good days, let him guard his tongue from evil, and his lips -- not to speak guile;
let him turn aside from evil, and do good, let him seek peace and pursue it;
with Christ I have been crucified, and live no more do I, and Christ does live in me; and that which I now live in the flesh -- in the faith I live of the Son of God, who did love me and did give himself for me;
peace pursue with all, and the separation, apart from which no one shall see the Lord,
Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life, no one does come unto the Father, if not through me;
and this is the life age-during, that they may know You, the only true God, and him whom You did send -- Jesus Christ;
and to study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we did command you,
that you may walk becomingly unto those without, and may have lack of nothing.
And Jesus said to them, 'I am the bread of the life; he who is coming unto me may not hunger, and he who is believing in me may not thirst -- at any time;
and be not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, for your proving what is the will of God -- the good, and acceptable, and perfect.
for through faith we walk, not through sight --
Happy the man who does endure temptation, because, becoming approved, he shall receive the crown of the life, which the Lord did promise to those loving Him.
and all, whatever you may do -- out of soul work -- as to the Lord, and not to men,
having known that from the Lord you shall receive the recompense of the inheritance -- for the Lord Christ you serve;
for the wages of the sin is death, and the gift of God is life age-during in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Jesus said to her, 'I am the rising again, and the life; he who is believing in me, even if he may die, shall live;
and every one who is living and believing in me shall not die -- to the age;
'The thief does not come, except that he may steal, and kill, and destroy; I came that they may have life, and may haveit abundantly.
34 And having called near the multitude, with his disciples, he said to them, 'Whoever does will to come after me -- let him disown himself, and take up his cross, and follow me;
35 for whoever may will to save his life shall lose it; and whoever may lose his life for my sake and for the good news' sake, he shall save it;
36 for what shall it profit a man, if he may gain the whole world, and forfeit his life?
37 Or what shall a man give as an exchange for his life?
38 for whoever may be ashamed of me, and of my words, in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man also shall be ashamed of him, when he may come in the glory of his Father, with the holy messengers.'
See, then, how exactly you walk, not as unwise, but as wise,
redeeming the time, because the days are evil;
