1 Desperta, desperta, veste-te da tua fortaleza, ó Sião; veste-te dos teus vestidos formosos, ó Jerusalém, cidade santa. Pois não mais tornará a entrar em ti o incircunciso nem o imundo.2 Sacode-te do pó; levanta-te, senta-te, Jerusalém: desata as cadeias do teu pescoço, cativa filha de Sião.3 Pois assim diz Jeová: Por nada fostes vendidos; e sem dinheiro sereis remidos.4 Pois assim diz o Senhor Jeová: O meu povo desceu no princípio ao Egito para peregrinar ali, e a Assíria sem razão o oprimiu.5 Agora que tenho eu que fazer aqui, diz Jeová, visto haver sido o meu povo levado sem preço? os que dominam sobre ele, dão uivos, diz Jeová, e o meu nome é blasfemado continuamente o dia todo.6 Portanto o meu povo saberá o meu nome; portanto saberá naquele dia que sou eu o que falo: eis que sou eu.7 Quão formosos são sobre os montes os pés do que anuncia coisas boas, do que prega a paz, do que anuncia coisas boas, do que prega a salvação, do que diz a Sião: O teu Deus reina!8 Ouve a voz dos teus vigias! eles alçam a voz, juntamente exultam; porque olho a olho verão, quando Jeová voltar a Sião.9 Rompei em júbilo, exultai à uma, lugares desertos de Jerusalém; porque Jeová confortou ao seu povo, remiu a Jerusalém.10 Jeová tem desnudado o seu santo braço aos olhos de todas as nações, e todos os confins da terra verão a salvação de nosso Deus.11 Retirai-vos, retirai-vos, sai daí, não toqueis coisa imunda; sai do meio dela; purificai-vos, os que levais os vasos de Jeová,12 Pois não saireis em tumulto, nem vos ireis fugindo; porque Jeová irá diante de vós, e o Deus de Israel será a vossa retaguarda.13 Eis que o meu servo procederá com prudência, será exaltado e elevado, e mui sublime.14 Como muitos pasmaram à vista dele (tão desfigurado estava o seu aspecto que não era o de um homem, e a sua figura não era a dos filhos dos homens),15 assim borrifará muitas nações; por causa dele reis taparão a boca. Pois verão aquilo que não se lhes havia anunciado, e entenderão aquilo que não tinham ouvido.

1 Arise, arise, put on thy strength, O Sion, put on the garments of thy glory, O Jerusalem, the city of the Holy One: for henceforth the uncircumcised, and unclean shall no more pass through thee.2 Shake thyself from the dust, arise, sit up, O Jerusalem: loose the bonds from off thy neck, O captive daughter of Sion.3 For thus saith the Lord: You were sold gratis, and you shall be redeemed without money.4 For thus saith the Lord God: My people went down into Egypt at the beginning to sojourn there: and the Assyrian hath oppressed them without any cause at all.5 And now what have I here, saith the Lord: for my people is taken away gratis. They that rule over them treat them unjustly, saith the Lord, and my name is continually blasphemed all the day long.6 Therefore my people shall know my name in that day: for I myself that spoke, behold I am here.7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, and that preacheth peace: of him that sheweth forth good, that preacheth salvation, that saith to Sion: Thy God shall reign!8 The voice of thy watchmen: they have lifted up their voice, they shah praise together: for they shall see eye to eye when the Lord shall convert Sion9 Rejoice, and give praise together, O ye deserts of Jerusalem: for the Lord hath comforted his people: he hath redeemed Jerusalem.10 The Lord hath prepared his holy arm in the sight of all the Gentiles: and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.11 Depart, depart, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing: go out of the midst of her, be ye clean, you that carry the vessels of the Lord.12 For you shall not go out in a tumult, neither shall you make haste by flight: For the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will gather you together.13 Behold my servant shall understand, he shall be exalted, and extolled, and shall be exceeding high.14 As many have been astonished at thee, so shall his visage be inglorious among men, and his form among the sons of men.15 He shall sprinkle many nations, kings shall shut their mouth at him: for they to whom it was not told of him, have seen: and they that heard not, have beheld.
