O Senhor aparece a Salomão pela segunda vez

1 *2Cr 7.11Tendo Salomão acabado de edificar a Casa de Jeová, *1Rs 7.1-2e a casa do rei, *1Rs 9.19;2Cr 8.6e tudo o que desejara e quisera fazer, 2 *1Rs 3.5;11.9apareceu-lhe Jeová segunda vez, como lhe tinha aparecido em Gibeão. 3 Jeová disse-lhe: Ouvi a oração e a súplica que fizeste diante de mim; santifiquei esta casa que edificaste, *1Rs 8.29para nela pôr o meu nome para sempre; e nela estarão *Dt 11.12;2Cr 6.40os meus olhos e o meu coração todos os dias. 4 Quanto a ti, *1Rs 3.14;11.4,6,8se andares diante de mim, como andou teu pai Davi, em integridade de coração e em equidade, fazendo conforme tudo o que hei ordenado, e se guardares os meus estatutos e os meus juízos, 5 *1Rs 2.4;6.12;2Sm 7.12,16estabelecerei o trono do teu reino sobre Israel para sempre, como prometi a teu pai Davi, dizendo: Não te faltará um sucessor sobre o trono de Israel. 6 *2Sm 7.14-16;1Cr 28.9Porém, se vos desviardes, vós e vossos filhos, e não me seguirdes, nem guardardes os meus mandamentos e os meus estatutos que vos tenho proposto; mas, se fordes servir a outros deuses e lhes derdes culto, 7 *Lv 18.24-29;Dt 4.26;2Rs 17.23exterminarei a Israel da terra que lhe dei; *Jr 7.4-14e esta casa, que santifiquei ao meu nome, lançá-la-ei longe da minha presença, *Dt 28.37;Jr 24.9e Israel virá a ser provérbio e motejo de todos os povos. 8 Embora esta casa seja tão alta, todavia, todo o que por ela passar pasmará e assobiará, e dir-se-á: *Dt 29.24-26;Jr 22.8-9,28Por que fez Jeová assim a esta casa e a esta terra? 9 Ser-lhe-á dito em resposta: *Dt 29.25-28;Jr 2.10-13Porque deixaram a Jeová, seu Deus, que tirou da terra do Egito a seus pais, e se apegaram a outros deuses, e os adoraram, e os serviram. Por isso, trouxe Jeová sobre eles todo este mal.

10 *2Cr 8.1Passados *1Rs 9.1;1Rs 6.37-38;7.1vinte anos, em que edificara Salomão as duas casas, isto é, a Casa de Jeová e a casa do rei 11 (Ora, Hirão, rei de Tiro, tinha fornecido a Salomão madeiras de cedro e de cipreste e ouro segundo tudo o que este desejava.), então, deu a Hirão vinte cidades na terra da Galileia. 12 Saiu Hirão de Tiro para ver as cidades que Salomão lhe tinha dado, e não lhe agradaram. 13 Disse: Que cidades são estas que me deste, irmão meu? E chamou-lhes Terra de *Js 19.27Cabul, nome que se conserva até hoje. 14 *1Rs 9.11Hirão tinha enviado ao rei cento e vinte talentos de ouro.

O tributo que Salomão impôs

15 A razão da leva de trabalhadores forçados que fez o rei Salomão é esta: edificar a Casa de Jeová, e a sua própria casa, e *1Rs 9.24;2Sm 5.9Milo, e o muro de Jerusalém, e *Js 11.1Hasor, e *Js 17.11Megido, e Gezer. 16 Faraó, rei do Egito, subiu e tomou a Gezer; queimou-a com fogo, matou os *Js 16.10cananeus que habitavam na cidade *1Rs 3.1;7.8e deu-a em dote a sua filha, mulher de Salomão. 17 *Js 10.10Salomão edificou Gezer, e Bete-Horom, a baixa, 18 e Baalate, e Tamar, no deserto do país, 19 e todas as cidades-armazéns que Salomão tinha, e *1Rs 10.26;2Cr 1.14as cidades dos carros e as dos *1Rs 4.26cavaleiros, e *1Rs 9.1tudo o que Salomão, para o seu prazer, quis edificar em Jerusalém, e no Líbano, e em toda a terra do seu domínio. 20 Quanto a todo o povo que tinha ficado dos amorreus, dos heteus, dos perizeus, dos heveus e dos jebuseus, que não eram dos filhos de Israel; 21 *Jz 1.21-29;3.1dos seus filhos que lhe tinham sucedido na terra, *Js 15.63;17.12-13aos quais os filhos de Israel não puderam extinguir totalmente, *Jz 1.28,35deles fez Salomão uma leva de *Gn 9.25-26;Ed 2.55-58trabalhadores forçados, que continuam a ser até o dia de hoje. 22 Porém *Lv 25.39dos filhos de Israel não fez trabalhadores forçados; mas eram os homens de guerra, seus ministros, seus príncipes, seus capitães e os chefes dos seus carros e dos seus cavaleiros.

23 Os principais oficiais que estavam sobre a obra de Salomão eram *2Cr 8.10quinhentos e cinquenta, *1Rs 5.16que dirigiam o povo que trabalhava na obra.

24 Subiu, porém, *1Rs 3.1;7.8a filha de Faraó da Cidade de Davi para a casa que Salomão lhe tinha edificado; foi, então, *1Rs 9.15;1Rs 11.27;2Cr 32.5que edificou a Milo.

25 Oferecia Salomão *Êx 23.14-17;Dt 16.16três vezes cada ano holocaustos e ofertas pacíficas sobre o altar que tinha edificado a Jeová, queimando com eles incenso sobre o altar que estava defronte de Jeová. Assim, acabou ele a casa.

26 *1Rs 22.48Fez Salomão uma frota em *Nm 33.35;Dt 2.8Eziom-Geber, que é perto de Elate, na praia do mar Vermelho, na terra de Edom. 27 *1Rs 5.6,9;10.11Mandou Hirão na frota os seus servos, marinheiros, entendidos em náutica, juntamente com os servos de Salomão. 28 Chegaram a *1Cr 29.4Ofir e de lá tomaram quatrocentos e vinte talentos de ouro, que trouxeram ao rei Salomão.

1 And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of the LORD, and the king’s house, and all Solomon’s desire which he was pleased to do, 2 That the LORD appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon. 3 And the LORD said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually. 4 And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments: 5 Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel. 6 But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them: 7 Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people: 8 And at this house, which is high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and to this house? 9 And they shall answer, Because they forsook the LORD their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods, and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath the LORD brought upon them all this evil.

10 And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the LORD, and the king’s house, 11 (Now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees, and with gold, according to all his desire,) that then king Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee. 12 And Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him; and they pleased him not.*9.12 pleased…: Heb. were not right in his eyes 13 And he said, What cities are these which thou hast given me, my brother? And he called them the land of Cabul unto this day.*9.13 Cabul: that is, displeasing, or, dirty 14 And Hiram sent to the king sixscore talents of gold.

15 And this is the reason of the levy which king Solomon raised; for to build the house of the LORD, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer. 16 For Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, and taken Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slain the Canaanites that dwelt in the city, and given it for a present unto his daughter, Solomon’s wife. 17 And Solomon built Gezer, and Beth-horon the nether, 18 And Baalath, and Tadmor in the wilderness, in the land, 19 And all the cities of store that Solomon had, and cities for his chariots, and cities for his horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.*9.19 that which…: Heb. the desire of Solomon which he desired 20 And all the people that were left of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, which were not of the children of Israel, 21 Their children that were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel also were not able utterly to destroy, upon those did Solomon levy a tribute of bondservice unto this day. 22 But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no bondmen: but they were men of war, and his servants, and his princes, and his captains, and rulers of his chariots, and his horsemen. 23 These were the chief of the officers that were over Solomon’s work, five hundred and fifty, which bare rule over the people that wrought in the work.

24 But Pharaoh’s daughter came up out of the city of David unto her house which Solomon had built for her: then did he build Millo.

25 And three times in a year did Solomon offer burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar which he built unto the LORD, and he burnt incense upon the altar that was before the LORD. So he finished the house.*9.25 upon the altar that: Heb. upon it, etc

26 And king Solomon made a navy of ships in Ezion-geber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red sea, in the land of Edom.*9.26 shore: Heb. lip 27 And Hiram sent in the navy his servants, shipmen that had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon. 28 And they came to Ophir, and fetched from thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.
