A apostasia nos últimos tempos

1 Mas *cp.Jo 16.13;At 20.23;21.11;1Co 2.10s.o Espírito diz expressamente que, *cp.2Ts 2.3ss.;2Tm 3.1;2Pe 3.3;Jd 18nos últimos tempos, alguns apostatarão da fé, atendendo a *1Jo 4.6espíritos enganadores e a *cp.Tg 3.15doutrinas de demônios, 2 mediante a hipocrisia de homens mentirosos, *cp.Ef 4.19que têm a consciência cauterizada, 3 que *Hb 13.4proíbem o casamento e ordenam *vd.Cl 2.16; cp.Cl 2.23a abstinência de alimentos, que *Gn 1.29;9.3Deus criou para serem *1Tm 4.4;Rm 14.6;1Co 10.30s.usados com gratidão pelos que creem e conhecem bem a verdade. 4 Pois *cp.1Co 10.26toda criatura de Deus é boa, e nada deve ser rejeitado, se é *vd.1Tm 4.3recebido com gratidão, 5 porque é santificado *Gn 1.25,31; cp.Hb 11.3pela palavra de Deus e pela oração.

Exortação à fidelidade e à diligência no ministério

6 Expondo essas coisas *vd.At 1.15aos irmãos, serás um bom *2Co 11.23ministro de Cristo Jesus, alimentado com as palavras da fé e da *1Tm 1.10boa doutrina *Lc 1.3(Gr.);2Tm 3.10; cp.Fp 2.20,22que tens seguido. 7 Mas rejeita as *vd.1Tm 1.4fábulas *vd.1Tm 1.9profanas e de velhas. Exercita-te na *1Tm 4.8;1Tm 6.3,5s.;2Tm 3.5piedade. 8 Pois o *cp.Cl 2.23exercício corporal para pouco é proveitoso, mas a piedade para tudo é útil, porque *Sl 37.9,11;Pv 19.23;22.4; vd.Mt 6.33tem a promessa da vida *vd.Mt 12.32; cp.Mt 6.33;Mc 10.30que agora é e da que há de ser. 9 *vd.1Tm 1.15Fiel é essa palavra e digna de toda a aceitação. 10 Pois para isso é que trabalhamos e lutamos, porque temos posto a *2Co 1.10;1Tm 6.17nossa esperança *vd.1Tm 3.15no Deus vivo, que é *vd.1Tm 2.4; cp.Jo 4.42o Salvador de todos os homens, especialmente dos que creem. 11 *1Tm 5.7;6.2Prescreve essas coisas e ensina-as. 12 *cp.1Co 16.11;Tt 2.15Ninguém despreze a tua mocidade, mas torna-te o *Tt 2.7; vd.1Pe 5.3exemplo dos fiéis na palavra, no procedimento, *cp.1Tm 1.14no amor, na fé e na pureza. 13 *1Tm 3.14Enquanto eu não vou, aplica-te à *cp.2Tm 3.15ss.leitura, à exortação e ao ensino. 14 Não negligencies o dom da graça que há em ti e que te foi dado *1Tm 1.18por profecia, com a *1Tm 5.22;2Tm 1.6; vd.At 6.6imposição das mãos do *vd.At 11.30(Gr.)presbitério. 15 Ocupa-te dessas coisas, dedica-te inteiramente a elas, para que o teu progresso seja a todos manifesto. 16 *cp.At 20.28Vela sobre ti e sobre o teu ensino; persevera nessas coisas, porque, fazendo isso, *vd.1Co 1.21te salvarás tanto a ti mesmo como aos que te ouvem.

1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: 5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. 6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained. 7 But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. 8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. 9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation. 10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

11 These things command and teach. 12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. 13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. 15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. 16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
