Necessidade de profetizar mal contra Israel

1 Ouvi esta palavra que Jeová falou contra vós, filhos de Israel, contra a *Jr 8.3;13.11família toda que fiz subir da terra do *Am 2.10;9.7Egito: 2 De todas as famílias da terra só *Êx 19.5-6;Dt 4.32-37a vós vos tenho conhecido; portanto, *Am 3.14;Jr 14.10;Ez 20.36;Dn 9.12visitarei sobre vós todas as vossas iniquidades. 3 Acaso, poderão dois *Lv 26.23-24andar juntos, se não tiverem chegado a um acordo? 4 *Sl 104.21;Os 5.14;11.10Rugirá no bosque um leão, sem que ele tenha presa? Do seu covil fará o leão novo soar a sua voz, se não tiver apanhado alguma coisa? 5 Poderá uma ave cair num laço sobre a terra, onde não lhe for posta uma armadilha? Levantar-se-á da terra o laço, sem que haja apanhado alguma coisa? 6 *Jr 4.5,19,21;6.1;Os 5.8;Sf 1.16Tocar-se-á trombeta na cidade, e não se assustará o povo? Sobrevirá algum *Is 14.24-27;45.7mal a uma cidade, sem que o tenha feito Jeová? 7 Certamente, o Senhor Jeová não fará coisa alguma *Gn 18.17;Jr 23.22;Dn 9.22sem revelar o seu segredo aos seus servos, os profetas. 8 Rugiu *Am 1.2o leão, quem não terá medo? Falou *Jn 1.1-3;3.1-3o Senhor Jeová, *Jr 20.9quem não profetizará?

9 Proclamai sobre os palácios de *Am 1.8;1Sm 5.1Asdode e sobre os palácios na terra do Egito e dizei: Ajuntai-vos sobre os *Am 4.1;6.1;Is 28.1;Ez 37.22montes de Samaria e vede que grandes tumultos há nela *Am 4.1;5.11;8.6e que opressões, no meio dela. 10 Pois *Am 5.7;6.12;Sl 14.4;Jr 4.22não sabem fazer o que é reto, diz Jeová, aqueles que *Hc 2.8-11;Sf 1.9;Zc 5.3-4entesouram nos seus palácios a violência e a rapina. 11 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Haverá um *Am 6.14adversário e cercará a terra; ele *Am 2.14te despirá a tua força, e os teus *Am 2.5palácios serão despojados. 12 Assim diz Jeová: Assim como o pastor *1Sm 17.34-37livra da boca do leão duas pernas ou um pedacinho duma orelha, assim serão livrados *Am 9.4;Jr 44.14,28os filhos de Israel que em Samaria se assentam no ângulo de um *Am 6.4;Et 1.6;7.8leito e sobre as almofadas de seda de uma *Sl 132.3cama.

13 Ouvi e *Ez 2.7dai testemunho contra a casa de Jacó, diz o Senhor Jeová, Deus dos Exércitos. 14 Pois, no dia em que *Am 3.2visitarei as transgressões de Israel sobre ele, visitarei também com castigo os altares de *Am 4.4;5.5-6;7.10,13;Os 10.5,8,14-15Betel, e os chifres do altar serão cortados e cairão por terra. 15 Ferirei *Jr 36.22a casa do inverno juntamente com *Jz 3.20a casa do verão; as casas de *1Rs 22.39;Sl 45.8marfim perecerão, e as *Am 2.5;6.11grandes casas terão fim, diz Jeová.

1 Hear this word that the LORD hath spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying, 2 You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.*3.2 punish: Heb. visit upon 3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed? 4 Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?*3.4 cry: Heb. give forth his voice 5 Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is for him? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all? 6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?*3.6 be afraid: or, run together?*3.6 the LORD…: or, shall not the LORD do somewhat? 7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. 8 The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?

9 Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great tumults in the midst thereof, and the oppressed in the midst thereof.*3.9 oppressed: or, oppressions 10 For they know not to do right, saith the LORD, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.*3.10 robbery: or, spoil 11 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; An adversary there shall be even round about the land; and he shall bring down thy strength from thee, and thy palaces shall be spoiled. 12 Thus saith the LORD; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch.*3.12 taketh: Heb. delivereth*3.12 in Damascus…: or, on the bed’s feet 13 Hear ye, and testify in the house of Jacob, saith the Lord GOD, the God of hosts, 14 That in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon him I will also visit the altars of Beth-el: and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground.*3.14 visit: or, punish Israel for 15 And I will smite the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall have an end, saith the LORD.
