Amós 2

1 Assim diz Jeová: *Am 1.3Por causa de três transgressões de *Is 15.1—16.14;Jr 48.1-47;Sf 2.8-9Moabe, sim, de quatro, não desviarei o seu castigo, porque queimou os ossos do rei de Edom até os reduzir em cinza. 2 Porém meterei a Moabe um fogo que devorará os palácios de *Jr 48.24,41Queriote; Moabe perecerá com *Jr 48.45tumulto, com *Am 1.14alarido e com sonido das trombetas. 3 Do meio dele exterminarei *Am 5.7,12;6.12;Sl 2.10;141.6o juízo e farei morrer com ele todos os *Jó 12.21;Is 40.23;Jr 48.7seus príncipes, diz Jeová.

Juízos sobre Judá e sobre Israel

4 Assim diz Jeová: Por causa de três transgressões de *Am 3.2;2Rs 17.19;Os 12.2Judá, sim, de quatro, não desviarei o seu castigo, porque *Jz 2.17-20;2Rs 22.11-17;Jr 6.19;8.9rejeitaram a lei de Jeová, não guardaram os seus estatutos, e os fizeram errar as suas *Is 9.15-16;28.15;Hc 2.18mentiras, após as quais andaram *Jr 9.14;16.11-12;Ez 20.18,24,30seus pais. 5 Porém *Jr 17.27;21.10meterei a Judá um fogo que devorará os palácios de Jerusalém.

6 Assim diz Jeová: *Am 1.3Por causa de três transgressões de *2Rs 18.12Israel, sim, de quatro, não desviarei o seu castigo, porque *Am 5.11-12;8.6;Jl 3.3venderam o justo por dinheiro e o necessitado, por um par de sapatos. 7 Eles suspiram pelo pó da terra sobre a cabeça dos *Am 8.4;Mq 2.2,9pobres *Am 5.12e pervertem o caminho dos mansos. *Os 4.14Um homem e seu pai entrarão à mesma moça, para profanarem o meu santo nome. 8 Ao lado de todos os *Am 3.14altares, deitam-se sobre roupas *Êx 22.26recebidas em penhor e, na casa do seu Deus, *Am 4.1;6.6bebem o vinho dos que têm sido multados.

9 Todavia, eu destruí diante deles *Js 10.12o amorreu, cuja altura era como *Nm 13.33a altura dos cedros, e ele mesmo, forte como os carvalhos; destruí o *Ez 17.9;Ml 4.1seu fruto por cima e as suas raízes, por baixo. 10 Também eu vos fiz subir da terra *Am 3.1;9.7;Êx 20.2do Egito e, *Dt 2.7quarenta anos, vos guiei no deserto para que possuísseis a terra do *Êx 3.8amorreu. 11 De vossos filhos *Dt 18.17;Jr 7.25suscitei profetas e, de vossos mancebos, *Nm 6.2-3nazireus. Pois não é assim, filhos de Israel? — diz Jeová. 12 Mas aos nazireus destes vinho a beber e ordenastes aos profetas, dizendo: *Am 7.13,16;Jr 11.21Não profetizeis.

13 Eis que eu vos *Jl 3.13apertarei no vosso lugar, como se aperta o carro que está cheio de feixes. 14 *Is 30.16-17Faltará refúgio ao ligeiro, e o forte não corroborará a sua força, nem *Jr 9.23o valente se livrará a si mesmo; 15 nem ficará em pé aquele que *Jr 51.56;Ez 39.3maneja o arco. Aquele que é ligeiro de pés não se livrará; nem se livrará o que vai *Is 31.3montado a cavalo; 16 e aquele que é corajoso entre os valentes *Jz 4.17;Jr 48.41fugirá nu naquele dia, diz Jeová.

1 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime: 2 But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kerioth: and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet: 3 And I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all the princes thereof with him, saith the LORD.

4 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to err, after the which their fathers have walked: 5 But I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.

6 Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes; 7 That pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go in unto the same maid, to profane my holy name:*2.7 maid: or, young woman 8 And they lay themselves down upon clothes laid to pledge by every altar, and they drink the wine of the condemned in the house of their god.*2.8 the condemned: or, such as have fined, or, mulcted

9 Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath. 10 Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite. 11 And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not even thus, O ye children of Israel? saith the LORD. 12 But ye gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not. 13 Behold, I am pressed under you, as a cart is pressed that is full of sheaves.*2.13 I am…: or, I will press your place, as a cart full of sheaves presseth 14 Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver himself:*2.14 himself: Heb. his soul, or, life 15 Neither shall he stand that handleth the bow; and he that is swift of foot shall not deliver himself: neither shall he that rideth the horse deliver himself. 16 And he that is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, saith the LORD.*2.16 courageous: Heb. strong of his heart
