A luxúria e a impiedade serão castigadas

Ou são os seus termos maiores do que os vossos termos? 3 Ai de vós que *Am 9.10;Is 56.12afastais o dia mau *Sl 94.20e fazeis que se aproxime o assento da *Am 3.10violência! 4 Ai dos que dormem em camas de *Am 3.15marfim, e se estendem sobre os seus *Am 3.12leitos, *Ez 34.2-3e comem os cordeiros tirados do rebanho e os bezerros do meio da estrebaria; 5 *Am 5.23;8.10que garganteiam ao som da lira; que inventam para si *1Cr 15.16instrumentos de música, assim como Davi; 6 *Am 2.8;4.1que bebem vinho de bacias e se ungem com óleo mais precioso; porém *Ez 9.4não se afligem pela quebra de José.

7 Portanto, pois, *Am 7.11,17irão cativos entre os primeiros que forem levados cativos, e cessará a *1Rs 20.16-20;Dn 5.4-6,30galhofa dos que *Am 6.4banqueteiam. 8 *Am 4.2;8.7;Gn 22.16;Jr 22.5;51.14Jurou o Senhor Jeová por si mesmo, diz Jeová, Deus dos Exércitos: *Am 5.21;Lv 26.30;Dt 32.19;Sl 106.40Eu abomino a soberba de Jacó e aborreço os seus *Am 3.10-11palácios; por isso, *Os 11.6entregarei a cidade e tudo que nela houver. 9 Se numa casa ficarem *Am 5.3dez homens, morrerão eles. 10 Quando o parente dum homem, isto é, aquele que *1Sm 31.12o queima, o tomar para lhe levar da casa os ossos e disser ao que estiver no mais interior da casa: Acaso, está ainda alguém contigo? E este responder: Não; então, lhe dirá ele: *Am 5.13;8.3Cala-te; *Jr 44.26;Ez 20.39não se pode mencionar o nome de Jeová. 11 Pois eis que Jeová ordena, e *Am 3.15;5.11;2Rs 25.9a casa grande há de ser ferida de brechas, e a casa pequena, de fendas.

12 Acaso, correrão cavalos pelo penhasco? Lavrar-se-á ali com bois? Visto que tendes convertido em fel o *Am 5.7,11-12;1Rs 21.7-13;Is 59.13-14juízo e em absinto, o fruto da justiça, 13 vós que vos alegrais do *Jó 8.14-15;Sl 2.2-4;Lc 12.19-20nada, que dizeis: Não é assim que por nossa própria força *Sl 75.4-5;Is 28.14-15nos temos tornado poderosos? 14 Pois eis que, diz Jeová, Deus dos Exércitos, *Am 3.11levantarei contra vós, ó casa de Israel, uma nação, e vos oprimirão desde *Nm 34.7-8;2Rs 14.25a entrada de Hamate até a torrente da Arabá.
