A iniquidade de Judá será castigada pelos caldeus: a intercessão do profeta

2 *Sl 13.1-2;22.1-2Até quando, Jeová, clamarei eu, e tu não ouvirás? Grito a ti: Violência, *Jr 14.9e não salvarás. 3 Por que me mostras a *Hc 1.13;Sl 55.9-11;Jr 20.18iniquidade e vês a perversidade? Pois a *Jr 20.18rapina e a violência estão diante de mim; *Jr 15.10há contendas, e o litígio se suscita. 4 Assim, *Sl 119.126;Is 59.12-14a lei se afrouxa, e o juízo nunca se manifesta. Porque o ímpio *Sl 22.12;Is 1.21-23cerca ao justo, por isso o juízo sai *Is 5.20;Ez 9.9pervertido.

5 *At 13.41Vede *Jr 25.14-29entre as nações e contemplai e *Is 29.9maravilhai-vos em extremo, porque vou fazer nos vossos dias uma *Is 29.14;Ez 12.22-28obra, que não haveis de acreditar, embora vos seja contada. 6 Pois eis que *2Rs 24.2;Jr 4.11-13suscito os caldeus, essa nação feroz e apressada, que marcha sobre a largura da terra para *Jr 8.10se apoderar de moradas que não são suas. 7 Ela *Is 18.2,7é terrível e espantosa; dela mesma sai *Jr 39.5-9o seu juízo e a sua dignidade. 8 Também os seus *Jr 4.13cavalos são mais ligeiros que os leopardos e mais ferozes que *Jr 5.6;Sf 3.3os lobos à tarde; os seus cavaleiros se espalham, sim, os seus cavaleiros vêm de longe; voam como *Ez 17.3;Os 8.1a águia que se apressa a devorar. 9 Eles todos vêm a usar da violência; *2Rs 12.17;Dn 11.17postos estão os seus rostos como o vento oriental; *Hc 2.5ajuntarão cativos como a areia. 10 Ele *2Cr 36.6,10;Is 37.13zomba dos reis e se rirá dos príncipes; *Is 10.9;14.16mofa de todas as fortalezas, porque *Jr 32.24;Ez 26.8amontoam o pó e as tomam. 11 Então, irá impetuosamente como *Jr 4.11-12o vento, e passará, e será *Jr 2.3culpados este *Hc 1.16;Dn 4.30cujo poder é o seu deus.

12 Não és tu desde *Dt 33.27;Sl 90.2;Ml 3.6a eternidade, Jeová, meu Deus, meu Santo? Não morreremos. Tu, Jeová, *Is 10.5;6.2;Ml 3.5puseste esse povo para juízo; e tu, *Dt 32.4Rocha, o puseste para correção. 13 Tu que és de *Sl 11.4-6;34.16olhos puros demais para contemplares o mal e que não podes *Jr 12.1-2olhar para a perversidade; por que razão olhas tu para os que *Is 24.16procedem traiçoeiramente *Sl 50.21e te conservas em silêncio quando o ímpio *Sl 35.25;56.1-2traga aquele que é mais justo do que ele? 14 Por que razão fazes os homens *Ec 9.12como os peixes do mar, como os répteis que não têm quem os governe? 15 A todos eles *Jr 16.16;Am 4.2tira o ímpio com o anzol, *Sl 10.9apanha-os na sua rede e ajunta-os na sua varredoura; portanto, se regozija e se alegra. 16 Por isso, *Hc 1.11oferece sacrifícios à sua rede e queima incenso à sua varredoura; porque *Jr 44.17por elas é rica a sua porção, e abundante, a sua comida. 17 Porventura, por isso, vazará ele a sua *Is 19.8rede e não cessará de *Is 14.5-6matar continuamente as nações?

1 The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see. 2 O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save! 3 Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife and contention. 4 Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.*1.4 wrong: or, wrested

5 Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you. 6 For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces that are not theirs.*1.6 breadth: Heb. breadths 7 They are terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall proceed of themselves.*1.7 their judgment…: or, from them shall proceed the judgment of these, and the captivity of these 8 Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat.*1.8 fierce: Heb. sharp 9 They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up as the east wind, and they shall gather the captivity as the sand.*1.9 their…: or, the supping up of their faces, etc: or, their faces shall look (Heb. the opposition of their faces) toward the east 10 And they shall scoff at the kings, and the princes shall be a scorn unto them: they shall deride every strong hold; for they shall heap dust, and take it. 11 Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, imputing this his power unto his god.

12 Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.*1.12 mighty…: Heb. rock*1.12 established: Heb. founded 13 Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?*1.13 iniquity: or, grievance 14 And makest men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping things, that have no ruler over them?*1.14 creeping: or, moving 15 They take up all of them with the angle, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their drag: therefore they rejoice and are glad.*1.15 drag: or, flue net 16 Therefore they sacrifice unto their net, and burn incense unto their drag; because by them their portion is fat, and their meat plenteous.*1.16 plenteous: or, dainty: Heb. fat 17 Shall they therefore empty their net, and not spare continually to slay the nations?
