A glória futura do verdadeiro Israel. Juízos preparatórios. O dia do Senhor. A purificação de Jerusalém

1 A revelação que *Is 1.1Isaías, filho de Amoz, viu no tocante a Judá e a Jerusalém.

2 *Mq 4.1-3Sucederá, nos dias vindouros, que o *Is 27.13;66.20monte da Casa de Jeová será estabelecido no cume dos montes e será exaltado sobre os outeiros; e concorrerão a ele *Is 56.7todas as nações. 3 *Is 45.14,22-25;49.12;55.5;60.3-6;66.18;Zc 8.20-23Irão muitos povos e dirão: Vinde e subamos ao monte de Jeová, à Casa do Deus de Jacó; dê-nos ele a lição dos seus caminhos, e andaremos nas suas veredas; porque de *Is 51.4-5;Lc 24.47Sião sairá a lei, e de Jerusalém, a palavra de Jeová. 4 Ele julgará entre as nações e servirá de árbitro a muitos povos; das suas espadas *Is 32.17-18;Jl 3.10forjarão relhas de arado e das suas lanças, podadeiras; *Is 9.5,7;11.6-9;Os 2.18;Zc 9.10uma nação não levantará a espada contra outra nação, nem aprenderão mais a guerra.

5 Vinde, *Is 58.1ó casa de Jacó, e andemos na luz de *Is 60.1-2,19-20;1Jo 1.5Jeová. 6 Pois tu, Jeová, *Dt 31.17rejeitaste o teu povo, a casa de Jacó, porque estão cheios de costumes do Oriente, e são *Is 57.3;Mq 5.12agoureiros *2Rs 1.2como os filisteus, e *2Rs 16.7-8;Pv 6.1fazem alianças com os filhos dos estrangeiros. 7 A sua terra está cheia de prata e de ouro, e sem limite são os seus tesouros; também a sua terra está *Is 30.16;31.1;Dt 17.16;Mq 5.10cheia de cavalos, e dos seus carros não há fim. 8 Também a sua terra está *Is 10.11cheia de ídolos; adoram *Is 17.8;37.19;40.19;44.17;Sl 115.4-8a obra das suas mãos, o que fizeram os seus dedos. 9 Por isso, o *Is 5.15;Sl 49.2;62.9homem tem de ser abatido, e o varão, humilhado, e *Ne 4.5não lhes podes perdoar. 10 *Is 2.19,21;Ap 6.15-16Entra nas rochas e esconde-te no pó, *2Ts 1.9para evitar o terror de Jeová e a glória da sua majestade. 11 *Is 5.15;37.23Os olhos altivos do homem têm de ser humilhados, e *Is 13.11;23.9;Sl 18.27;2Co 10.5abatida a altivez dos varões; e só Jeová será exaltado naquele dia.

12 Pois Jeová dos Exércitos tem um dia contra *Is 24.4,21;Jó 40.11-12;Ml 4.1tudo o que é soberbo e altivo e contra tudo o que é elevado, para que seja humilhado; 13 contra todos os *Is 10.33-34cedros do Líbano, que são altos e elevados, e contra todos os *Zc 11.2carvalhos de Basã; 14 contra todos os *Is 40.4montes altos e contra todos os outeiros elevados; 15 contra toda *Is 25.12torre alta e contra todo muro fortificado; 16 contra todos os *Is 23.1,14;60.9;1Rs 10.22navios de Társis e contra toda obra que agrada a vista. 17 A arrogância do homem será abatida, e a altivez dos varões será humilhada; e só Jeová será exaltado naquele dia. 18 Os *Is 21.9;Mq 1.7ídolos, de todo, desaparecerão. 19 Os homens *Is 2.10meter-se-ão nas cavernas das rochas e nos buracos da terra, *Is 2.21;13.13;24.1,19-20;Sl 18.7;Na 1.3-6;Ag 2.6-7;Hb 12.26para evitar o terror de Jeová e a glória da sua majestade, quando ele se levantar para espantar a terra. 20 Naquele dia, o homem *Is 30.22;31.7lançará às toupeiras e aos *Lv 11.19morcegos os seus ídolos de prata, e os seus ídolos de ouro, que se fizeram para adorar, 21 *Is 2.19a fim de entrar nas cavernas das rochas e nas fendas dos rochedos, para evitar o terror de Jeová e a glória da sua majestade, quando ele se levantar para espantar a terra. 22 *Sl 146.3;Jr 17.5Deixai-vos de homem que não é senão o sopro dos seus narizes. Pois *Is 40.15,17;Sl 8.4;144.3-4;Tg 4.14em que se deve ele estimar?

1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.*2.2 established: or, prepared 3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.*2.4 pruninghooks: or, scythes 5 O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.

6 Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers.*2.6 from…: or, more than the*2.6 please…: or, abound with the 7 Their land also is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures; their land is also full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots: 8 Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made: 9 And the mean man boweth down, and the great man humbleth himself: therefore forgive them not.

10 Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty. 11 The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. 12 For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low: 13 And upon all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan, 14 And upon all the high mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up, 15 And upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall, 16 And upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant pictures.*2.16 pleasant…: Heb. pictures of desire 17 And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. 18 And the idols he shall utterly abolish.*2.18 he…: or, shall utterly pass away 19 And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.*2.19 of the earth: Heb. of the dust 20 In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;*2.20 his idols of silver…: Heb. the idols of his silver, etc*2.20 each…: or, for him 21 To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. 22 Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?
