Ricas promessas à desanimada Sião

1 Ouvi-me, *Is 42.4ilhas; e escutai, povos *Is 66.19de longe. *Is 44.2,24;46.3;Jr 1.5Jeová chamou-me desde o ventre, desde as *Is 7.14;9.6entranhas de minha mãe, fez menção do meu nome; 2 fez a minha *Is 11.4;Hb 4.12;Ap 1.16;2.12,16boca como uma espada aguda e, na *Is 51.16sombra da sua mão, me escondeu; fez-me como uma *Hc 3.11seta polida, e, na sua aljava, me encobriu 3 e me disse: Tu és o meu servo; és Israel, *Is 44.23no qual hei de ser glorificado. 4 Mas eu disse: Debalde tenho *Is 65.23trabalhado, inútil e *Is 50.6-8;53.10,12vãmente tenho gasto as minhas forças; contudo, certamente, o meu direito está com Jeová, e *Is 35.4;59.18a minha recompensa, com o meu Deus.

5 Agora, diz *Is 44.2Jeová, que me formou desde o ventre para ser o seu servo, para de novo trazer Jacó a ele e *Is 14.1;41.14;44.23para se reunir *Is 11.12;27.12Israel a ele (Pois sou *Is 43.4glorificado aos olhos de Jeová, e o meu Deus se faz a minha *Is 12.2fortaleza.), 6 sim, diz ele: Pouco é que sejas o meu servo para suscitares as tribos de Jacó e restaurares *Sl 37.28;97.10os que de Israel têm sido preservados; também te porei para a *Is 42.6;51.4;At 13.47luz dos gentios, a fim de seres a minha salvação até os *Is 48.20confins da terra. 7 Assim diz Jeová, *Is 48.17o Redentor de Israel e o Santo dele, ao que é *Is 53.3;Sl 22.6-8;69.7-9desprezado dos homens, ao que é aborrecido da nação, ao servo dos que dominam: *Is 52.15Reis bem como príncipes verão, se levantarão, *Is 19.21,23;27.13;66.23adorarão, por causa de Jeová, que é fiel, por causa do Santo de Israel, que te escolheu.

8 Assim diz Jeová: No tempo *Sl 69.13;2Co 6.2aceitável, te respondi e, no dia da salvação, te auxiliei; *Is 26.3;27.3;42.6conservar-te-ei e *Is 42.6te darei por uma aliança do povo, *Is 44.26para restaurares a terra, para distribuíres as herdades assoladas 9 e para dizeres aos que estão *Is 42.7;61.1;Lc 4.18em cadeias: Sai; aos que estão em trevas: Mostrai-vos. Eles pastarão nos caminhos, e em todos os *Is 41.18altos desnudados haverá o seu pasto. 10 *Is 33.16;48.21;Ap 7.16Não terão fome nem sede; não os molestará nem a miragem *Sl 121.6nem o sol, porque *Is 14.1o que deles se compadece *Is 40.11;Sl 23.2os guiará, sim, os conduzirá aos *Is 35.7;41.17mananciais de água. 11 Transformarei em caminho *Is 40.4todos os meus montes, *Is 11.16;19.23;35.8;62.10e as minhas estradas serão exaltadas. 12 Eis que estes virão *Is 49.1;60.4de longe, eis que aqueles do *Is 43.5-6Norte e do Ocidente, e aqueles outros, da terra de Sinim. 13 *Is 44.23Cantai, céus; regozija-te, terra; rompei em cânticos, montes; porque *Is 40.1;51.3,12Jeová conforta ao seu povo *Is 54.7-8,10e se compadecerá dos seus aflitos.

14 Sião, porém, disse: *Is 40.27Jeová desamparou-me, e o Senhor esqueceu-se de mim. 15 Acaso, pode uma mulher esquecer-se de seu filho de peito, de sorte que ela não se compadeça do filho das suas entranhas? Embora as mães se esqueçam, contudo, eu *Is 44.21não me esquecerei de ti. 16 Eis que *Ct 8.6;Ag 2.23te gravei nas palmas das minhas mãos; os *Is 62.6-7;Sl 48.12-13teus muros estão continuamente diante de mim. 17 Os *Is 51.14teus filhos se apressam; *Is 10.6;37.18sairão para fora de ti os que te destruíam e te assolavam. 18 *Is 60.4;Jo 4.35Levanta os teus olhos ao redor e olha; todos estes *Is 43.5;54.7;60.4se reúnem *Is 49.12e vêm ter comigo. *Is 45.23;54.9Por minha vida, juro, diz Jeová, que de todos estes *Is 52.1;61.10te vestirás como de um ornamento e te cingirás deles, à moda de uma noiva. 19 Pois, quanto aos teus *Is 1.7;3.8;5.6;51.3lugares desertos e desolados e à tua terra arruinada, agora tu, ó Sião, serás, certamente, *Is 54.1-2;Zc 10.10estreita demais para os moradores; e os que *Sl 56.1-2te devoravam estarão longe. 20 Ainda *Is 54.1-3dirão em teus ouvidos os filhos de que fostes privados: Este lugar é demasiadamente estreito para mim; dá-me espaço em que eu habite. 21 Então, *Is 29.23;54.6-7dirás no teu coração: Quem me gerou estes, visto que fui privada de meus filhos e sou *Is 27.10;Lm 1.1solitária, *Is 5.13exilada e errante? Estes, quem os criou? Eis que fui *Is 1.8deixada sozinha; *Is 60.8estes, onde estavam?

22 Assim diz o Senhor Jeová: Eis que eu levantarei as minhas mãos para as nações e arvorarei o meu *Is 11.10,12;18.3;62.10estandarte para os povos; eles *Is 14.2;43.6;60.4trarão teus filhos nos braços e tuas filhas, sobre os ombros. 23 Terás *Is 14.1-2;60.3,10-11reis por teus aios e as suas rainhas, por tuas amas; diante de ti, *Is 45.14;60.14se inclinarão com o rosto em terra *Sl 72.9;Mq 7.17e lamberão o pó dos teus pés; *Is 41.20;43.10;60.16saberás que eu sou Jeová e que os que por mim *Is 25.9;26.8;Sl 37.9esperam *Is 45.17;Sl 25.3;Jl 2.27não serão envergonhados.

24 Acaso, tirar-se-á a presa ao forte ou serão libertados os que são legalmente cativos? 25 Mas assim diz Jeová: Certamente, os *Is 10.6;14.1-2;Jr 50.33-34cativos serão tirados ao forte, e a presa do *Is 13.11;25.3,5;29.5,20tirano será libertada; porque eu contenderei com o que contende contigo *Is 25.9;33.22;35.4e salvarei teus filhos. 26 Os que *Is 9.4;14.4;16.4;51.13;54.14te oprimem alimentarei *Is 9.20com as suas próprias carnes; e, com o seu próprio sangue, eles se embriagarão como com o mosto. *Is 45.6;Ez 39.7Toda carne saberá que eu, Jeová, sou o teu *Is 43.3Salvador e que o teu *Is 49.7Redentor é o Poderoso de Jacó.

1 Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. 2 And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me; 3 And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified. 4 Then I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with the LORD, and my work with my God.*49.4 my work: or, my reward

7 Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee.*49.7 whom man…: or, that is despised in soul 8 Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;*49.8 establish: or, raise up 9 That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places. 10 They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them. 11 And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted. 12 Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.

13 Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted. 14 But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me. 15 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.*49.15 that…: Heb. from having compassion 16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me. 17 Thy children shall make haste; thy destroyers and they that made thee waste shall go forth of thee.

18 Lift up thine eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to thee. As I live, saith the LORD, thou shalt surely clothe thee with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on thee, as a bride doeth. 19 For thy waste and thy desolate places, and the land of thy destruction, shall even now be too narrow by reason of the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up shall be far away. 20 The children which thou shalt have, after thou hast lost the other, shall say again in thine ears, The place is too strait for me: give place to me that I may dwell. 21 Then shalt thou say in thine heart, Who hath begotten me these, seeing I have lost my children, and am desolate, a captive, and removing to and fro? and who hath brought up these?
