O servo do Senhor ultrajado e socorrido

1 Assim diz Jeová: Onde está a *Dt 24.1,3;Jr 3.8carta de divórcio de vossa mãe, pela qual carta *Is 54.6-7eu a repudiei? Ou qual dos meus credores é aquele a quem *Dt 32.30;2Rs 4.1;Ne 5.5vos vendi? Eis que, por causa *Is 52.3;59.2das vossas iniquidades, é que fostes vendidos, e, por causa das vossas *Is 1.28;43.27;48.8transgressões, *Jr 3.8foi repudiada vossa mãe. 2 Por que, quando vim, *Is 41.28;59.16;65.12;66.4não houve ninguém? Quando chamei, não houve quem respondesse? Acaso, tanto se encolheu *Is 59.1;Gn 18.14;Nm 11.23a minha mão que não possa remir? Ou não tenho eu poder de livrar? Eis que, pela minha repreensão, faço *Is 19.5;43.16;44.27;Êx 14.21secar o mar e *Is 42.15;Js 3.16torno os rios em deserto; por não haver água, apodrecem os seus peixes e morrem de sede. 3 Eu *Is 13.10;Ap 6.12visto de luto os céus e lhes ponho saco por coberta.

4 O Senhor Jeová deu-me a língua *Is 8.16;54.13dos que são instruídos, para que eu saiba *Is 57.19;Jr 31.25sustentar com palavras o que está cansado; desperta-me *Sl 5.3;88.13;119.147;143.8de manhã em manhã, desperta-me o ouvido para que eu ouça como os que são instruídos. 5 O Senhor Jeová *Is 35.5;Sl 40.6abriu-me o ouvido, e eu não *Mt 26.39;Jo 8.29;14.31;15.10;At 26.19;Fp 2.8;Hb 5.8;10.7fui rebelde, nem me retirei para trás. 6 *Is 53.5;Mt 26.67;27.30;Mc 15.19;Lc 22.63Dei as minhas costas aos que me feriam e as minhas faces, aos que me arrancavam os cabelos da barba; o meu rosto, não o escondi de opróbrios e de escarros. 7 O Senhor Jeová, porém, *Is 42.1;49.8me ajudará; pelo que *Is 45.17;54.4não me sinto confundido, e, por esse motivo, pus o meu rosto como uma *Ez 3.8-9pederneira, e sei que não serei envergonhado. 8 Perto está aquele que *Is 45.25;Rm 8.33-34me justifica; quem contenderá comigo? *Is 1.18;41.1;43.26Apresentemo-nos juntos; quem é o meu adversário? Chegue-se para mim. 9 Eis que *Is 41.10o Senhor Jeová me ajudará; *Is 54.17quem há que me condene? Eis que todos eles *Is 51.8envelhecerão como um vestido; a traça os comerá.

10 Quem há, entre vós, que tema a Jeová, que escute a voz do seu *Is 50.4;49.2-3Servo? Aquele que *Is 9.2;26.9;Ef 5.8anda em trevas e não tem luz *Is 12.2;26.4;51.5confie em o nome de Jeová e firme-se sobre o seu Deus. 11 Eia! Todos vós, os que *Is 9.18;Pv 26.18;Tg 3.6acendeis um fogo e vos cingis com tições acesos, *Et 7.10;Sl 35.8;141.10;Pv 26.27;Ec 10.8andai no lume do vosso fogo e por entre os tições que ateastes. Da minha mão vos sobrevirá isso; *Is 8.22;65.13-15;Am 4.9-10em tormentos vos deitareis.

1 Thus saith the LORD, Where is the bill of your mother’s divorcement, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away. 2 Wherefore, when I came, was there no man? when I called, was there none to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stinketh, because there is no water, and dieth for thirst. 3 I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.

4 The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.

5 The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back. 6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.

7 For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed. 8 He is near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? let us stand together: who is mine adversary? let him come near to me.*50.8 mine…: Heb. the master of my cause? 9 Behold, the Lord GOD will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.

10 Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God. 11 Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.
