Ciro é comissionado para libertar os exilados

1 Assim diz Jeová ao seu *Is 44.28ungido, a Ciro, a quem tomei pela *Is 41.13;42.6;Sl 73.23mão direita para lhe *Is 41.2,25;Jr 50.3,35;51.11,20,24sujeitar nações ante a sua face, *Is 45.5;Jó 12.21desapertar os lombos de reis e lhe abrir portas cujas entradas não serão fechadas. 2 Eu irei diante de ti e *Is 40.4farei planos os lugares escabrosos; *Sl 107.16quebrarei as portas de bronze e despedaçarei *Jr 51.30as trancas de ferro. 3 Dar-te-ei *Jr 41.8;50.37os tesouros das trevas e as riquezas escondidas em lugares secretos, para que saibas que eu sou Jeová, o Deus de Israel, *Is 43.1;49.1;Êx 33.12,17que te chamo pelo teu nome. 4 Por amor *Is 41.8-9;44.1do meu servo Jacó e de Israel, meu escolhido, *Is 43.1te chamei pelo teu nome e te dei títulos, *At 17.23embora não me conhecesses. 5 Eu sou Jeová, *Is 45.6,14,18,21;46.9e não há outro; *Is 44.6,8fora de mim não há Deus; *Sl 18.39cingir-te-ei, ainda que não me tenhas conhecido; 6 *Sl 102.15;Ml 1.11para que se saiba, *Is 43.5desde o nascente do sol e desde o poente, *Is 45.5que fora de mim não há outro: eu sou Jeová, e não há outro. 7 *Is 42.16Eu formo a luz e *Sl 104.20;105.28crio as trevas; faço a paz e *Is 31.2;47.11;Am 3.6crio o mal; eu sou Jeová, que faço todas essas coisas.

8 *Sl 72.6;Os 10.12;14.5;Jl 3.18Destilai, ó céus, lá de cima, e chovam as nuvens a justiça para que produzam a salvação; *Sl 85.11abrase a terra e, ao mesmo tempo, *Is 12.3faça nascer *Is 60.21;61.11a justiça; eu, Jeová, criei tudo isso.

9 Ai daquele que *Jó 15.25;40.8-9;Sl 2.2-3;Pv 21.30;Jr 50.24contende com o seu Criador! Ai do caco entre os cacos da terra! Porventura, dirá *Is 29.16;64.8;Jr 18.6;Rm 9.20-21o barro ao que o forma: Que fazes? Porventura, dirá a tua obra do seu artífice: Ele não tem mãos? 10 Ai de quem diz ao pai: Que é o que geras? Ou à mulher: Que é o de que estás de parto?

11 Assim diz *Is 43.15;48.17;Ez 39.7Jeová, o Santo de Israel e seu *Is 44.2;54.5Criador: *Is 8.19Perguntai-me que há de suceder; demandai-me acerca de *Jr 31.9meus filhos e acerca *Is 19.25;26.12;29.23;60.21;64.8da obra das minhas mãos. 12 *Is 45.18;42.5;Jr 27.5Eu é que fiz a terra e sobre ela criei o homem; eu, com as minhas mãos, *Is 42.5;44.24;Sl 104.2estendi os céus *Gn 2.1;Ne 9.6e a todo o seu exército dei as minhas ordens. 13 Eu o despertei *Is 41.2em justiça e o *Is 45.2endireitarei em todos os seus caminhos. *Is 44.28;2Cr 36.22-23Ele edificará a minha cidade e deixará ir *Is 52.3livres os meus exilados, não por preço nem por presentes, diz Jeová dos Exércitos.

Jeová, o único Salvador

14 Assim diz Jeová: O trabalho do *Is 19.21;Sl 68.31Egito, e o tráfico da *Is 18.1;43.3Etiópia, e os sabeus, homens de grande estatura, *Is 14.1-2;49.23;54.3passarão para ti e serão teus. Irão atrás de ti, *Sl 149.8em cadeias virão; *Is 49.23;60.14diante de ti se prostrarão e a ti te suplicarão, dizendo: Certamente, *Jr 16.19;Zc 8.20-23;1Co 14.25Deus está em ti, *Is 45.5e não há outro que seja Deus. 15 Deveras tu, ó Deus de Israel, *Is 43.3Salvador, és um Deus *Is 1.15;8.17;57.17;Sl 44.24que te encobres. 16 *Is 42.17;44.9Envergonhados e confundidos serão todos eles; cairão, à uma, em confusão todos os que *Is 44.11fabricam ídolos. 17 Israel, porém, será salvo por Jeová com *Is 26.4;51.6;Rm 11.26uma salvação eterna; *Is 49.23;50.7;54.4vós não sereis envergonhados, nem confundidos para todo o sempre.

18 Pois assim diz Jeová, o Deus que *Is 42.5criou os céus, *Is 45.12que formou a terra e a fez (Ele a estabeleceu, não a criou para ser um *Gn 1.2caos, mas formou-a para ser *Gn 1.26;Sl 115.16habitada.): Eu sou Jeová, *Is 45.5e não há outro. 19 *Is 48.16;Dt 30.11-13Não tenho falado em oculto, em algum lugar da terra de trevas; eu não disse *Is 45.25;41.8;65.9à semente de Jacó: *2Cr 15.2;Sl 78.34;Jr 29.13-14;Os 3.5Buscai-me em vão; eu, Jeová, *Is 45.23;63.1;Sl 19.8falo a justiça, *Is 43.12;44.8anuncio o que é reto.

20 *Is 43.9Congregai-vos e vinde; chegai-vos todos juntos, os que escapastes das nações; *Is 44.18-19;48.5-7não têm entendimento os *Is 46.1,7;Jr 10.5que carregam o lenho da sua imagem esculpida *Is 44.17;46.6-7e oram a um deus que não pode salvar. 21 *Is 41.23;43.9Anunciai e apresentai as razões; juntamente, tomem conselho. *Is 41.26;44.7;48.14Quem mostrou essas coisas desde os tempos antigos? Quem as anunciou de há muito? 1 Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;*45.1 have…: or, strengthened 2 I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron: 3 And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel. 4 For Jacob my servant’s sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.

5 I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: 6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. 7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. 8 Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the LORD have created it. 9 Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands? 10 Woe unto him that saith unto his father, What begettest thou? or to the woman, What hast thou brought forth?

11 Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me. 12 I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded. 13 I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the LORD of hosts.*45.13 direct: or, make straight 14 Thus saith the LORD, The labour of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no God. 15 Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour. 16 They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols. 17 But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end. 18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else. 19 I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.

20 Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save. 21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. 22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. 23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. 24 Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.*45.24 Surely…: or, Surely he shall say of me, In the LORD is all righteousness and strength*45.24 righteousness: Heb. righteousnesses 25 In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.
