Rezim e Peca em guerra contra Jerusalém

1 Nos dias de *Is 1.1;2Rs 16.1Acaz, filho de Jotão, filho de Uzias, rei de Judá, subiu *2Rs 15.37Rezim, rei da Síria, com *2Rs 15.25;2Cr 28.6Peca, filho de Remalias, rei de Israel, a Jerusalém para pelejar contra ela; e *Is 7.6-7não podia prevalecer contra ela. 2 Aviso foi dado *Is 7.13;22.22à casa de Davi, dizendo: A Síria está *Is 8.12aliada com *Is 9.9Efraim. Foi agitado o coração de Acaz e o coração do seu povo, como se agitam as árvores do bosque à força do vento.

3 Disse Jeová a Isaías: Sai, agora, ao encontro de Acaz, tu e teu filho Sear-Jasube, junto ao fim *Is 36.2;2Rs 18.17do aqueduto da piscina superior, na estrada do campo do lavandeiro; 4 e dize-lhe: Guarda-te e *Is 30.15;Êx 14.13;Lm 3.26conserva-te tranquilo; *Is 10.24;Mt 24.6não temas, *Is 35.4;Dt 20.3;1Sm 17.32nem te desfaleça o coração por causa destes dois restos de *Am 4.11;Zc 3.2tições fumegantes, por causa do ardor da ira de Rezim e Síria e do *Is 7.1,9filho de Remalias. 5 Porquanto a *Is 7.2Síria resolveu fazer-te mal, bem como Efraim e o filho de Remalias, dizendo: 6 Subamos contra Judá, e amedrontemo-lo, e demos sobre ele, e tomemo-lo para nós, e façamos reinar no meio dele o filho de Tabeel; 7 por isso, diz o Senhor Jeová: *Is 8.10;28.18;Sl 2.4-6;At 4.25-26Isso não subsistirá, nem acontecerá. 8 Pois a capital da Síria é *Is 17.1-3;Gn 14.15Damasco, e o cabeça de Damasco é Rezim (e, dentro de sessenta e cinco anos, Efraim será despedaçado, de modo que deixe de ser povo); 9 e a capital de Efraim é Samaria, e o cabeça de Samaria é o filho de Remalias. Se o não *Is 5.24;8.6-8;30.12-14;2Cr 20.20crerdes, não haveis de permanecer.

10 De novo, falou Jeová com Acaz: 11 Pede a Jeová, teu Deus, um *Is 37.30;38.7-8;55.13;2Rs 19.29sinal embaixo nas profundezas, ou em cima, nas alturas. 12 Respondeu, porém, Acaz: Não pedirei, nem tentarei a Jeová. 13 Disse Isaías: Ouvi, agora, ó *Is 7.2casa de Davi; porventura, não vos basta fatigardes aos homens, mas ainda *Is 1.14;43.24fatigais também ao *Is 25.1meu Deus? 14 Portanto, o Senhor mesmo vos dará um sinal; eis que uma *Mt 1.23donzela conceberá, e dará à luz um filho, e por-lhe-á o nome de *Is 8.8,10Emanuel. 15 Ele comerá *Is 7.22manteiga e mel, quando souber rejeitar o mal e escolher o bem. 16 *Is 8.4Pois, antes que o menino saiba rejeitar o mal e escolher o bem, será desolada a *Is 8.4;17.3;Jr 7.15;Os 5.3,9,14;Am 1.3-5terra, ante cujos dois reis tu tremes de medo. 17 Jeová fará vir sobre ti, sobre o teu povo e sobre a casa de teu pai dias quais não têm vindo desde que *1Rs 12.16Efraim se retirou de Judá — a saber, *Is 8.7-8;10.5-6;2Cr 28.20o rei da Assíria.

18 Naquele dia, acontecerá que Jeová *Is 5.26assobiará às moscas que estão *Is 13.5no extremo dos rios do Egito e às abelhas que estão na terra da Assíria. 19 Elas virão e pousarão todas nos vales desolados, e *Is 2.19;Jr 16.16nas fendas dos rochedos, *Is 7.24-25e sobre todos os pastos.

20 Naquele dia, *Is 24.1;2Rs 18.13-16rapará o Senhor com uma *Ez 5.1-4navalha *Is 10.5,15alugada, que está nas regiões além do *Is 8.7;11.15;Jr 2.18rio, a saber, com o rei da Assíria, a cabeça e os cabelos dos pés; também ela tirará a barba.

21 Sucederá, naquele dia, que um homem criará uma vaca *Is 14.30;27.10;Jr 39.10nova e duas ovelhas; 22 e, por causa da abundância do leite que lhe derem, comerá *Is 7.15manteiga. Pois todo aquele que for deixado no meio da terra comerá manteiga e mel.

23 Naquele dia, *Is 5.10;32.13-14todo lugar em que antes havia mil vides do valor de mil moedas de prata será entregue aos espinhos e abrolhos. 24 Com setas e arco, entrarão ali, porque toda a terra será *Is 5.6espinhos e abrolhos. 25 Quanto a todos os outeiros que, com enxada, se revolviam, para ali não chegarás com medo dos espinhos e abrolhos, mas servirão de lugar para *Is 5.17soltar bois e para ser pisado do gado miúdo.

1 And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it. 2 And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind.*7.2 is confederate…: Heb. resteth on 3 Then said the LORD unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shear-jashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller’s field;*7.3 Shear-jashub: that is, The remnant shall return*7.3 highway: or, causeway 4 And say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.*7.4 neither…: Heb. let not thy heart be tender 5 Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have taken evil counsel against thee, saying, 6 Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal:*7.6 vex: or, waken 7 Thus saith the Lord GOD, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass. 8 For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin; and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people.*7.8 that…: Heb. from a people 9 And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah’s son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established.*7.9 If…: or, Do ye not believe? it is because ye are not stable

10 Moreover the LORD spake again unto Ahaz, saying,*7.10 Moreover…: Heb. And the LORD added to speak 11 Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.*7.11 ask it…: or, make thy petition deep 12 But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD. 13 And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also? 14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.*7.14 shall call: or, thou, O virgin, shalt call 15 Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good. 16 For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings.

17 The LORD shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father’s house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria. 18 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria. 19 And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes.*7.19 bushes: or, commendable trees 20 In the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, namely, by them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the beard. 21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall nourish a young cow, and two sheep; 22 And it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk that they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land.*7.22 the land: Heb. the midst of the land 23 And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place shall be, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, it shall even be for briers and thorns. 24 With arrows and with bows shall men come thither; because all the land shall become briers and thorns. 25 And on all hills that shall be digged with the mattock, there shall not come thither the fear of briers and thorns: but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of lesser cattle.
