Jerusalém é restituída à sua glória

1 *Is 52.2Levanta-te, resplandece, porque é chegada *Is 60.19-20a tua luz, e é nascida sobre ti a *Is 24.23;35.2;58.8glória de Jeová. 2 Pois eis que *Is 58.10;Jr 13.16;Cl 1.13as trevas cobrirão a terra, e a escuridão, os povos; sobre ti, porém, nascerá Jeová, sobre ti se verá *Is 4.5a sua glória. 3 *Is 2.3;45.14,22-25;49.23As nações se encaminharão para a tua luz, e *Is 60.11os reis, para o resplendor da tua aurora.

4 *Is 11.12;49.18Levanta em roda os teus olhos e vê; todos estes se ajuntam, *Is 49.20-22eles vêm ter contigo; teus filhos virão de longe, e tuas *Is 43.6;49.22filhas serão levadas nos braços. 5 Então, verás e estarás *Sl 34.5radiante; o teu coração palpitará e se dilatará, porque a *Is 23.18;24.14abundância do mar se tornará a ti, *Is 61.6as riquezas das nações virão a ti. 6 A multidão de camelos te cobrirá, os dromedários de *Gn 25.4Midiã e de Efá; todos virão de *Gn 25.3;Sl 72.10Sabá, trarão *Is 60.9;43.23ouro e incenso e *Is 42.10publicarão os louvores de Jeová. 7 Todos os rebanhos de *Gn 25.13Quedar se ajuntarão em ti, os carneiros de Nebaiote te servirão; serão aceitos ao serem oferecidos sobre o *Is 19.19;56.7meu altar, e *Is 60.13;Ag 2.7,9glorificarei a casa da minha glória. 8 *Is 49.21Quem são estes que vêm voando como as nuvens e como as pombas para as suas janelas? 9 Certamente, *Is 11.11;24.15;42.4,10,12;49.1;51.5;66.19as ilhas me esperarão, e *Is 2.16;Sl 48.7as naus de Társis virão primeiro *Is 14.2;43.6;49.22;Gl 3.26para trazerem de longe teus filhos e, com eles, a sua prata e o seu ouro para o nome de Jeová, teu Deus, e para o Santo de Israel, porque ele *Is 55.5te glorificou.

10 *Is 14.2;61.5;Zc 6.15Estrangeiros edificarão os teus muros, e os seus *Is 49.23reis te servirão, porque, na minha *Is 54.8ira, te feri, mas, no meu furor, tive compaixão de ti. 11 As tuas *Is 60.18;26.2;62.10portas também, de contínuo, estarão abertas; não serão fechadas nem de dia nem de noite, *Is 60.5para que te sejam trazidas as riquezas das nações e conduzidos com elas *Is 24.21;Sl 149.8os seus reis. 12 Pois a *Is 14.2;Zc 14.17nação e o reino que não te servirem perecerão; as tuas nações serão de todo assoladas. 13 *Is 35.2A glória do Líbano virá a ti, *Is 41.19o cipreste, o olmeiro e o buxo juntamente, para adornar o *1Cr 28.2;Sl 99.5;132.7lugar do meu santuário, e farei glorioso o lugar dos meus pés. 14 Virão a ti, inclinando-se, *Is 14.1-2;45.14,23;49.23os filhos dos que te oprimiram; e prostrar-se-ão diante das plantas dos teus pés todos os que te desprezaram e chamar-te-ão *Is 1.26a Cidade de Jeová, *Hb 12.22Sião do Santo de Israel.

15 Em lugar de seres *Is 1.7-9;6.11-13;Jr 30.17abandonada e *Is 66.5aborrecida, sem que *Is 33.8-9ninguém por ti passe, far-te-ei *Is 4.2;65.18uma excelência perpétua, delícias de muitas gerações. 16 *Is 49.23;66.11Mamarás o leite das nações e mamarás o peito dos reis; saberás que eu Jeová sou o teu *Is 19.20;43.3,11;45.15,21;63.8Salvador e o teu *Is 59.20;63.16Redentor, o Poderoso de Jacó. 17 Em lugar de cobre, trarei ouro; em lugar de ferro, trarei prata; e, por madeira, cobre; e, por pedra, ferro; e farei paz os teus *Is 1.26;32.1oficiais e justiça, os teus magistrados. 18 Não se ouvirá mais falar de *Is 54.14violência na tua terra, de *Is 51.19desolação e de destruição nos teus termos, mas chamarás aos teus *Is 26.1muros Salvação e *Is 60.11às tuas portas, Louvor. 19 Não te servirá mais *Ap 21.23;22.5o sol para luz de dia, nem com o seu resplendor te alumiará a lua; mas *Is 2.5;9.2Jeová te servirá de luz perpétua, e *Is 41.16;45.25;Zc 2.5o teu Deus será a tua glória. 20 Não se porá mais *Is 30.26o sol, nem a tua lua se retirará, porque Jeová será a tua luz perpétua, e acabados serão os dias *Is 35.10;65.19;Ap 21.4do teu pranto. 21 O teu *Is 45.24-25;52.1povo também, todos serão justos, eles *Is 57.13;61.7;Sl 37.11,22herdarão a terra para sempre — renovos da minha plantação, *Is 19.25;26.12;29.23;45.11;64.8obras das minhas mãos, para que eu seja *Is 44.23;61.3glorificado. 22 *Is 6.13;10.22;51.2O mais pequeno virá a ser mil, e o mínimo, uma nação forte; eu, Jeová, apressarei isso a seu tempo.

1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.*60.1 shine…: or, be enlightened; for thy light cometh 2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. 3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. 4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side. 5 Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.*60.5 abundance…: or, noise of the sea shall be turned toward thee*60.5 forces: or, wealth 6 The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the LORD. 7 All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory. 8 Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?

9 Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee. 10 And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee. 11 Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.*60.11 forces: or, wealth 12 For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted. 13 The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious. 14 The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee, The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

15 Whereas thou hast been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations. 16 Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of kings: and thou shalt know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob. 17 For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron: I will also make thy officers peace, and thine exactors righteousness. 18 Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise. 19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory. 20 Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended. 21 Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. 22 A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.
