Jó descreve o estado miserável em que caiu

1 Agora, porém, *Jó 12.4zombam de mim os de menos idade,

cujos pais desdenhei de pôr com os cães do meu rebanho.

2 Pois de que me aproveitaria a força das mãos deles,

homens nos quais já pereceu o vigor?

3 De míngua e fome estão emagrecidos;

roem o deserto, desde muito em ruínas e desolado.

4 Apanham malvas junto aos arbustos,

e as raízes da giesta são o seu mantimento.

5 São expulsos do meio dos homens,

e grita-se atrás deles como atrás dum gatuno.

6 Têm que habitar nos desfiladeiros sombrios,

nas covas da terra e dos penhascos.

7 Zurram entre os arbustos,

estendem-se debaixo das urtigas,

8 São filhos de insensatos, filhos de gente infame;

foram enxotados para fora do país.

9 Agora, vim a ser a sua *Jó 12.4, ref.canção

e lhes sirvo de provérbio.

10 Eles me abominam, ficam longe de mim

e não hesitam em me *Jó 17.6;Nm 12.14;Dt 25.9;Is 50.6;Mt 26.67cuspir no rosto.

Eles também expeliram de si o *Sl 32.9freio diante de mim.

12 À minha direita, levanta-se gente vil,

e contra mim *Jó 19.12erigem o seu caminho de destruição.

e promovem a minha calamidade,

uns homens esses a quem ninguém ajudaria.

14 Como por uma larga brecha, entram;

ao meio das ruínas, precipitam-se.

A minha honra é levada como pelo vento.

apoderam-se de mim dias de aflição.

17 À noite, *Jó 30.30os ossos se me traspassam e caem,

e as dores que me devoram não descansam.

18 Pela grande violência do mal, está *Jó 2.7desfigurado o meu vestido.

Ele se cola ao meu corpo como o cabeção da minha túnica.

19 Deus lançou-me na *Sl 69.2,14lama,

e tornei-me como pó e cinza.

20 *Jó 19.7Clamo a ti, e não me respondes;

Ponho-me em pé, e olhas para mim.

21 Tornas-te cruel para comigo

e, com a força da tua mão, *Jó 10.3;16.9,14;19.6,22me persegues.

dissolves-me na tempestade.

24 Contudo, não estende a mão quem vai cair?

Ou, ao ser ele destruído, *Jó 19.7não dá gritos?

Não se afligia a minha alma pelo *Jó 24.4, ref.necessitado?

26 *Jó 3.25-26;Jr 8.15Esperando eu o bem, veio-me o mal;

e, esperando a luz, *Jó 19.8veio a escuridão.

dias de aflição me sobrevieram.

e a minha flauta, na voz dos que choram.
