Judas exorta a pelejar pela fé

Antigos exemplos de retribuição pela desobediência. Admoestação contra os ímpios e falsos mestres

5 Ora, eu vos quero *2Pe 1.12s.;3.1s.lembrar (se bem que *1Jo 2.20sabeis tudo uma vez para sempre) que o Senhor, *1Co 10.5-10;Hb 3.16s.tendo libertado a um povo, tirando-o da terra do Egito, destruiu, em seguida, aqueles que não creram; 6 que *2Pe 2.4os anjos que não guardaram o seu principado, mas abandonaram o seu próprio domicílio, ele *2Pe 2.9os tem reservado, com cadeias eternas em trevas, para o juízo do grande Dia; 7 assim *2Pe 2.6Sodoma, Gomorra e *Dt 29.23;Os 11.8as cidades vizinhas, tendo-se prostituído, como aqueles de que acabo de falar, *2Pe 2.2e seguindo após outra carne, foram postas como *2Pe 2.6exemplo, sofrendo a *Mt 25.41;2Ts 1.8s.;2Pe 3.7pena do fogo eterno. 8 Contudo, da mesma maneira também estes, sonhando, não somente *cp.2Pe 2.10contaminam o seu corpo, como também desprezam a dominação e maldizem as dignidades. 9 Mas, quando *Dn 10.13,21;12.1;Ap 12.7Miguel, *1Ts 4.16; cp.2Pe 2.11o arcanjo, discutindo com o Diabo, altercava sobre *cp.Dt 34.6o corpo de Moisés, não ousou fulminar-lhe sentença de blasfemo, mas disse: *Zc 3.2O Senhor te repreenda. 10 *2Pe 2.12Estes, porém, na verdade, maldizem tudo o que ignoram e se perdem em todas aquelas coisas *cp.Fp 3.19que compreendem naturalmente, *2Pe 2.12como animais sem razão. 11 Ai deles! Porque entraram no *Gn 4.3-8; cp.Hb 11.4;1Jo 3.12caminho de Caim, e, por amor do lucro, se atiraram *2Pe 2.15; cp.Nm 31.16;Ap 2.14ao erro de Balaão, *Nm 16.1-3,31-35e pereceram na revolta de Coré. 12 Estes são os cachopos *2Pe 2.13; cp.1Co 11.20ss.em vossos ágapes, quando banqueteiam convosco sem medo; *Ez 34.2,8,10pastores que se apascentam a si mesmos; *Pv 25.14; cp.2Pe 2.17nuvens sem água, *Ef 4.14levadas pelos ventos; árvores do outono, sem fruto, duas vezes mortas, *cp.Mt 15.13desarraigadas; 13 *Is 57.20ondas furiosas do mar, espumando *Fp 3.19as suas próprias torpezas; estrelas errantes, *2Pe 2.17; cp.Jd 6para as quais tem sido reservado o negrume das trevas para sempre. 14 A estes também é que profetizou *Gn 5.18,21ss.Enoque, o sétimo depois de Adão, quando disse: *Dt 33.2;Mt 16.27; cp.Dn 7.10;Hb 12.22Eis que o Senhor veio, com miríades de seus santos, 15 *cp.2Pe 2.6ss.a executar juízo sobre todos e a convencer a todos os ímpios de todas as obras ímpias que impiamente cometeram e de todas as palavras duras que *cp.1Tm 1.9pecadores ímpios pronunciaram contra ele. 16 Estes são *Nm 16.11,41;1Co 10.10murmuradores, queixosos, *2Pe 2.10;Jd 18andando segundo as suas cobiças; a sua boca fala *2Pe 2.18de coisas soberbas, mostrando admiração a pessoas *cp.2Pe 2.3por causa de interesse.

A profecia dos apóstolos. Exortações

17 Vós, porém, *Jd 3amados, *2Pe 3.2lembrai-vos das palavras que foram preditas *cp.Hb 2.3pelos apóstolos de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, 18 os quais vos diziam que, *2Pe 3.3; cp.At 20.29;1Tm 4.1;2Tm 3.1s.;4.3nos últimos tempos, viriam zombadores, *Jd 16; cp.Jd 4andando segundo as suas ímpias cobiças. 19 Estes são os homens que causam divisões, *cp.1Co 2.14s.;Tg 3.15sensuais, que não têm o Espírito. 20 Mas vós, *Jd 3amados, *Cl 2.7;1Ts 5.11edificando-vos sobre a vossa santíssima fé *Ef 6.18e orando no Espírito Santo, 21 guardai-vos no amor de Deus, *Tt 2.13;Hb 9.28;2Pe 3.12esperando a misericórdia de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, para a vida eterna. 22 Tende misericórdia de alguns que estão na dúvida 23 e salvai-os, *Am 4.11;Zc 3.2; cp.1Co 3.15arrebatando-os do fogo; de outros, tende misericórdia com temor, *cp.Ap 3.4;Zc 3.3s.aborrecendo até a túnica manchada pela carne.

1 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called: 2 Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.

3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. 5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. 6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. 7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. 8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. 9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. 10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves. 11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. 12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. 14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, 15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. 16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.

17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. 19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. 20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22 And of some have compassion, making a difference: 23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, 25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
